  1. Professional service and attention to detail. Got help right away and found most of the items I was looking for. I always have a pleasant experience shopping here, but the inventory is not as large as some of the other home improvement stores. But it’s always not as overwhelming either if you need to find something fast. Good prices and nice people.

  4. If you looking for staff who are friendly, offer decent customer service, answer the phone and are even remotely interested in their job, this isn’t the place.

    I now have a favorite hardware store in Jay’s Ace Hardware. I have been shopping for a new snow blower and most of the big box stores wanted a fee to assemble and deliver it. I found out that Jay’s Ace Hardware not only assembles but they deliver at no cost to Layton. They were just great people to work with and I will now look forward to supporting this local business in the future.

    Staff is always friendly and when I need something and don’t want to drive to the box store they usually have it. Even if it is a little more expensive.

    Let me tell you about the DISASTER of customer service (or lack there of) I experienced today! Today, I went to Jay’s Ace Hardware to get a charger for my motorcycle, not knowing a hell of alot about chargers, I just thought when i approached two associates (or at least one of them) would assist me…… NO! The two men I came into contact with asked me if I needed help, I explained what I was looking for, a jump battery so I could charge my motorcycle quickly, the younger gentleman said, “you shouldn’t do that”, “aisle 13″…. THATS ALL! AKWARD! I went to aisle 13 and had to Google information since NO ONE would help me! It gets better, once I selected a charger, I took it back to where I initially was, at the register, this time the older gentleman of the two was there and I started asking him if this would work for my motorcycle and he said ” let’s take a look”. For whatever reason we took the box to another register and he began to look at it outside of the box. As the older gentlemen was looking things over, he says this should work when another customer comes over to ask where the wrenches were…. BOTH ASSOCIATES said nothing…. WHAT KIND OF SERVICE is this??? Then, the other customer walks off and the younger associate tells us to please take my charger and move to another register….WHY? There was no one waiting in line behind me, we moved only to go right back to where we were so I could get rung out. I’m a frequent shopper for my motorcycle and based on my experience today, I WILL NOT go back to this establishment to spend my hard earned money just to Google information on products in this store, u might as well have bought it on Amazon! I was deeply DISSAPPOINTED and it goes to show you, the service industry is seriously lacking these days, TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER, you never know, you might’ve kept me as a loyal customer.

    Checked the website and it says it closes at 8pm. Walked in at 5 mins to and was abruptly greeted and told that the store had closed and to hurry up. Was again reminded while looking for my item that the store had closed. Mentioned to the gentleman thst I looked on the website and it said 8pm was closing. Rather than being kind I was told that they changed their hrs 6 months ago. Guess Ace doesnt need my business that much anymore. Maybe a quick review on what pays this gentleman’s paycheck are customers.
