I highly recommend Warsh Law. I worked with Stuart Wood for the probate of my mom’s estate and then the sale of her house. He was so kind and explained everything so well. All matters were cleared up quite quickly and efficiently. The assistants I dealt with were also excellent and very patient with my long list of questions.

I retained Sarah Allan about a year ago. At the time I was dealing with a terribly contentious divorce that was already almost three years dragged out. My ex and I were fighting on every aspect of the divorce including my ex keeping my child from me in order to get more government subsidies and child support. At this point I had already had two lawyers that were less than helpful and were helping the issue drag on for a bigger pay cheque. Needless to say I fired them but I desperately needed someone who would get this divorce moving and get me a proper shared parenting arrangement.

Sarah took my file and she softened the hard edges of the situation with my ex and even with me. She helped me settle into a more negotiation mindset and away from the adversarial mind set. She showed me ways to get a deal made that both my ex and I could live with. She was always good at getting back to me in a timely manner and she was very available to me. She got my divorce a conclusion when I thought the only solution was going to be court.

If you’re looking for a good lawyer that’s actually working to HELP you navigate the terrible situation of a nasty divorce, Sarah Allan is incredible and she’s painfully honest. She’s going to tell you how it really is and how you can move forward. She’s always got my back and she’s surprised me a few times with her excellent ideas. Sarah came along just when I was giving up on lawyers helping me get through this, to get this moving along.

You know, I found that the lawyers were the problem and I was just about to self represent before taking one last shot with a local lawyer. I found that Sarah was exactly what I was looking for in a lawyer from the start of this mess. I wish I knew about Sarah before I went through all of this. My divorce is done but I’m keeping Sarah on retainer to keep the situation with my ex wife friendly. I’ll have her as my lawyer for years to come.

Mr. Warsh and his team (Kathy Riley) did a fantastic job for us in our Trusteeship dealing with the Public Guardian regarding our child with Special Needs. It involved many steps and they were able to achieve a ruling that greatly benefitted our child and family. More importantly, their hard work was able to save us a substantial amount of money in the long run, allowing us to put our money towards our child’s future instead of costly court costs. During the whole process, they did an excellent job communicating and keeping us aware of the proceedings. Highly recommend!

I had the honour and pleasure to have Sarah Allan represent me. She was deliberate and very knowledgeable throughout the litigation in the parenting arrangement and order that recently came to fruition for my son and I.

She is one the absolute best in family matters through litigation and I am forever grateful for her help, assistance and hard work to help me have the time with my son that I have now

I highly recommend to anyone going through family litigation to have Sarah represent them, she will give you prompt advice and strong representation through any legal proceedings required for your situation

Thank you for all you’ve done Sarah and all you’ll keep doing for those you represent now and in the future

Ms. Christine Parsons along with Ms. Joey Macey handled my divorce case. They have been very professional, and I can’t recommend them enough. Thanks to them, they made this stressful process very simple and manageable. They are great communicators and they will work very hard to get you the best results.

Terrible lawyer who has no genuine care for her clients just about lining her pockets. She encourages her clients to spend thousands of dollars in sending pointless emails to opposing council that ultimately result in nothing but wasted money for her client. She plays dirty, is willing to cross the moral and ethical standard most lawyers abide by. Will willingly aid her client in alienating their ex spouse from the children. Even when hard evidence is shown to her she still advises her clients to carry on. Issues that could of been easily solved that could of spared the children from a ton of trauma she drags on and on just to get more money for herself. One year later and a good 80,000 spent by her client to have her agree in mediation to amounts of money less then what was offered to her client a year ago. Not to mention she showed up to a formal mediation completely unprepared. What a con artist. There are good, morally ethical lawyers out there but this definitely not one of them.

I really can’t say enough good things about this firm and all of the staff that work there. They have been nothing short of amazing during the worst 18 months of our lives. We were dealing with a very volatile family court matter and needed the best. Joey Macey came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Joey and her assistant always went above and beyond to give us the best possible representation. She is kind and compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and we could not be happier with the outcome. I am so glad that we trusted her with our family’s future. If you are looking for an excellent lawyer that is committed to helping her clients, Joey Macey should be your first call.

I first met Kara in 2012 where she became my lawyer. Right from the start she always made me feel like I was important and my case mattered to her. She has always been fair and honest. In court she was always very professional. Money became a issues and I couldn’t afford a lawyer as I am not on legal aide. Not once has Kara said no she wouldn’t help me out. There aren’t too many people in this world who do what Kara and Laura do for people. It is inspiring to see the volunteer work they do to help those in need. I would highly recommend Kara and Laura to anyone who needs a lawyer.

I self-represented myself in my divorce trial and I am very happy with the orders that were pronounced. I used Laura’s unbundled package for this trial. She was so amazing, she kept politely guiding me to stay focused on the issues and the evidence, hence making the best of my visits to her. She very honestly told me what I could do myself, knowing my abilities, and what I should let her do, to make the best use of my money. I learnt to trust her fully as she truly was working in the best interest for me. It is amazing how organised she is, all the documents I had provided her were on her laptop and she would open them in a second while she talked to me. She advised me to be so familiar with my documents for the trial and to know where they would be in the binder. Laura gave me her personal cell phone for any quick queries during the trial. She also got all the other lawyers in her firm familiar with my case, in case when I called in for help, she was not available but then I will still be able to get help from her teammates. She prepared my trial brief, the opening statement, the closing statement, my book of binders and guided me on the trial process. During the trial, the judge wanted some case laws for another way he was thinking of going. When I told him, I have a lawyer helping me, he gave me 15 min break to get the case laws. I called Laura and she asked me how I would want them, I asked her to email them to me. Within 5 min I got 4 cases emailed to me from Kara, another team member. I printed them at the courthouse library and went back in the court with them. The judge was impressed, he also commented on how good the closing statement was. Laura and her student, Sarah, had prepared it. With the amount of work, she had done, I was expecting a bigger bill. She is so reasonable in her billing. She works with a great team which incudes Alex, her assistant and her student, Sarah. She designated the work to them or me according to our abilities to make the best use of my money, as she knew money was a big concern for me. Her office assistant Lexy is so friendly and cooperative. What a wonderful team! I feel so blessed to have them help me 😊

Top Family Lawyer Alternatives in Parksville

While there are several Family Lawyer alternatives available in Parksville, there are three that are particularly popular among residents:

  • Mediation Services: Mediation services provide an alternative to traditional litigation by helping families resolve their disputes through open communication and negotiation. Mediators act as neutral third parties who facilitate discussions and help parties reach mutually acceptable agreements. This option can be less time-consuming, less adversarial, and more cost-effective compared to going to court. Many individuals and families in Parksville prefer mediation services as they allow them to maintain control over the outcome of their disputes.
  • Collaborative Family Law: Collaborative family law is another alternative to traditional litigation. In this approach, each party retains their own collaborative lawyer and signs an agreement to work together to find mutually agreeable solutions. The lawyers take a problem-solving approach and focus on achieving a settlement without going to court. Collaborative family law encourages open communication, transparency, and a commitment to finding fair solutions for all parties involved. This alternative is especially beneficial for families seeking to minimize conflict and maintain amicable relationships.
  • Legal Aid Services: For individuals and families with limited financial resources, legal aid services can provide the assistance they need. Legal aid programs offer subsidized or free legal representation to qualifying individuals, ensuring that access to justice is not limited by financial constraints. In Parksville, there are legal aid services available through organizations such as the Legal Services Society of BC, which can provide legal advice, assistance with document preparation, and representation in certain family law matters.

Each of these Family Lawyer alternatives in Parksville offers different advantages, and individuals should carefully consider their specific circumstances and needs before choosing the option that is right for them.
