The central store is as big as a Walmart Super Center with all the bells and whistles. The big difference here can be summarized in a single word “Style “.
Where Walmart excels in quantity Kroger excels is Style. The look and feel of the store is such that each department could stand on its own and go toe to toe with its standalone counterpart.
When I visited the store yesterday evening I wasn’t feeling good so I went over to the little clinic. The people there are an absolute joy to work with. I had a little wait so being the restless type I walked round the store and explored.
This is what I found. After all is said and done I had a visit with my care provider and my prescription was sent straight to the pharmacy. I was able to pick up my prescriptions and grab Some Seagrams escapes to relax when I got home.
Overall I’m a happy camper. I plan to review each of the individual elements of the store and the stores inside separately but for now I’m leaving you with the The photo highlights of my visit.

Large and renovated. Employees were nice. Prices were higher than a Walmart, but they had some unique items you can’t get there and a new Murray’s cheese department that looked interesting.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT order a pick up chicken order from the deli. I ordered the pick-up order 10 days in advance, I called in to confirm the order 2 days in advance, and I arrived 30 minutes early to have the workers act like they forgot the order existed. The order was an hour late, and the lunch I planned for 50-60 people was not on time at all. Very understaffed. I give two stars because the chicken tasted great.
Shame on you Kroger. I am so disgusted after my last visit. My sick daughter and I are waiting at the little clinic and we had to use the restroom. She’s still in pull-ups so we have to do the changing table sometimes. We walked over to the bathroom and waited on the gentleman cleaning it to get out. When he was done, we walked in and it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING !!!! There was feces all on the seat and down the side, no toilet paper or paper towels, mirror and sink were filthy, and I had to clean the diaper table before I even let her go near it. The worst part is, he just got done “cleaning”!!!! So sad. On top of it, the family restroom said “out of order”, so I said “what’s wrong with it”, His response…..”just didn’t want to clean it”. WHAT?!?!?! This store is quickly going downhill.
Kroger has the best variety. We hardly shop here anymore because it inevitably costs us twice as much as other places.
