What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This shelter takes 0 responsibility for the bad faith with which it acts towards adopters. When people shop instead of adopting one of the major reasons they give is that they prefer the health guarantees and sense of predictability a responsible breeder gives them. Even rescue groups can be very understanding of health issues and work to help you with them. This humane society shows reprehensible bad faith in this respect. We adopted a dog and was told it was 7 years old and had a slight heart murmur, turns out it was 14 years old and the heart condition was so much worse than we expected that it led to the rainbow bridge a short 9 months later. Check the negative reviews on this place and you’ll see a lot of the same complaint, that the animal was very unhealthy, their health problems were played down or undisclosed, and when approached the GBHS says “check the fine print and go away.” This hell hole actively works against the goal of adopting pets to forever homes by being deceitful and lacking any remorse or responsibility. Stay away!

  2. We have adopted from this humane society for many years. They have always been kind and professional. We always got a free checkup coupon with our own vet and pets were always neutered. Yes there were times we had to take them to the vet but that is expected. They check them for some things but not all. They have always been good to us and love these animals as much as we do. All animals deserve love regardless of age. The love they give you in return is priceless.

  3. Recently I bought a dog at the Green Bay Humane Society was told she had a small fracture in her left elbow stated in the paperwork. Was told that she may develop arthritis but would heal overtime. Less than 24 hours of having her, she was hardly putting pressure on that leg, even keeping it off the ground when sitting and showing multiple signs of discomfort. So logically I brought her to the vet, where they found the same fracture listed. Then I was told that she needed surgery and that it would cost over $5,000 just for that one leg because it’s not just a fracture but her bone is dislocated and her other front right leg also might be damaged and also need surgery to correct it. They should have took care of this when she was in there but they were only causing more damage to her, again she is only just a puppy. They should definitely be responsible because they gave us misinformation.

  4. If you’re looking for a pet, it’s a great place to look. They update daily, so keep checking back.
The staff knows what to do and they keep things flowing…

  5. If you’re looking for a dog or cat this is a great place to stop. They usually have a good selection. Before you can adopt they give the pets all their shots and examination. As well as testing the animal for personality issues from abuse or other things which may be an issue for a owner.

If interested you can sit in a room with your potential new pet get to know them see how you and them get together or don’t. If you have an existing pet if you arrange you can have the two meet see how it goes. There’s opportunity for trial runs see how you do with the pet.

A very good and thorough experience. They go the extra mile to make sure the pets get a good home.

We have been here so many times that we might as well be employees at this point. Between our dogs, cats, and late hamster, bird, and fish, rarely have we encountered difficulty finding what we need. Any food, toys, treats, beds, etc, are readily available at fairly reasonable prices for a pet store. They offer plenty of specialty dog and cat foods, and some are frequently on sale. We even got one of our cats here through the Humane Society. He did not live long due to preexisting health issues from being a street cat, but he was the most loving cat I’ve ever known. The employees I have interacted with have always been polite and helpful. Personally, I like to find really good deals in odd places, so I don’t always shop in typical pet stores, but when I do, PetSmart is my first choice.

Clean and organized, was able to find what I was looking for! I tried signing up for rewards and they were confused how to do that but we got it eventually!

Fix how you respond to people when YOU AS A STORE have a faulty POS system that can freely decline and place Auth Holds but yet, go through approved the 2nd time inconveniently double charging me. Making me wait 3 to 4 days for the Hold to release. AND have a attitude when being asked for a receipt showing a decline when funds were there. Fix it before someone Above you does. Period

PetSmart is the higher end of franchise pet stores. They’ve got the brand cat food I need, and offer lots of discounts. They’ve partnered with the local humane society, and often have cats available which is wonderful since they see more customers. Good variety of items. Not recommended to purchase an animal from them as the care for animals is often sub-par. Great option for toys, tank decorations, pet food and live plants.

This place is great! It’s both an adoption facility but also can be a forever home for disabled and/or homeless cats. It’s wide open and “free-range” for the cats. It’s a great place to stop by and visit the kitties. We enjoyed ourselves greatly and the staff was super welcoming and knowledgeable.

I’ve been to a couple birthday parties at safe haven and the girls just love the cats. It is a wonderful place to hold a birthday party. The man there was very nice and helpful.

Safe Haven sets the standard for cat rescue centers specializing on cats with disabilities. Their staff fully adopts their mission of no cat left behind. They truly believe their cats deserve the best care, and their rates, environment, and adoption process reflect that. They truly care about their community, their cats, and about educating adopters. I am so grateful they exist in Green Bay and with their sister cafe in Appleton, because the work they are doing is making a difference!
