What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Went in to browse the Lexington Humane Society puppies. We ended up leaving with one and all the supplies needed to get started. The bonding room was a nice way to get to know your puppy. Associates were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all our questions and it took us a little over an hour from start to finish. Store was clean, organized, and well-stocked too!

  2. Even though the associate at the register was stretched thin due to lack of staff, he pointed me to a much better choice of e Collar when I told him my pup was a Houdini when it came to Velcro and other fasteners. I really appreciate the help. My pup would give him 0 ⭐️ because he can’t get out of this eCollar.

  3. MY Experience at PetSmart was a Blessing. I got my Aussie poodle Groomed and I Love it.. my Service was Excellent they Kept me updated n made sure what ever I Needed or had any Questions they were there to Help.

  4. This is the best of the PetSmart stores around by far. Always neat and clean, with great presentations all over. I was kind of disappointed seeing a dead Betta in the Bettas for sell. Folks already talk about how it is the most abused fish in retail, and this adds to the talk. I was somewhat disappointed in the live fish selection, and hopefully you get more of a selection soon.

We visited the humane society in November with the intention of adopting two dogs. That is challenging as you don’t know their personalities and how they might interact. We met with a few dogs and found two that we loved. Unfortunately, we had an unsuccessful meet and greet between them so we had to go back to the drawing board. The staff was extremely patient and was really trying to help us find a perfect pair. We were there for three hours and were about to leave with just one pupper. At checkout a staff member said they had a dog upstairs that was going to be released from the hold that day. He had gotten his “name” just a few minutes earlier. At their suggestion, we met Cooper. As Cooper rounded the corner my husband immediately said “He’s so fluffy!”. When Cooper burped in his face I knew he was going home with us. Their meet and greet process worked wonders as the staff was correct about a good placement with Cooper and McKenna. We are so happy and blessed to have these cuties in our lives. Thank you for helping people “adopt love”!

I love LHS! I have adopted a cat through them some years back, and he has been such a joy. He’s one of the sweetest dudes I’ve ever owned, and extremely photographer as well (see photo for proof) I’ve also fostered with LHS which was also a great experience. I fostered one dog, and a few rounds of kittens. They were always willing to step in and offer support as needed. If you’re considering a new pet, I highly suggest checking them out.

We adopted Shaggy, a fox terrier mix, about 5 years ago from PetSmart, which gets their animals from Lexington Himane Society. He was an older dog and had a heart murmur when we adopted him. About a year or so after he passed away, we decided to adopt another dog. They had a $25 adoption fee weekend! We’d been wanting a new dog but just didn’t need to spend a lot. We looked and checked out a couple and found one we liked. They were very courteous and answered all our questions. Unfortunately, an issue with our landlord caused us to have to return her. We were broken hearted. I hated the thought of her going back, but we had no choice. When my husband took her back, to his surprise, she seemed like she was going home. She seemed very happy to be back… we were comforted in that she wasn’t distraught while praying she finds a good home. They talked with my husband and they were very kind, understanding, and comforting. They were very busy and there was a wait – she got very excited and wanted to get inside. They were very understanding of our situation, which was much appreciated.

I adopted Venus today and I am so happy I did. I got a friend for life. She is already so well adjusted. She is so cuddly and affectionate. Sweetest girl. Thank you!

It is easy to access. There is parking, and it is wheelchair accessible. Great people trying to save animals. Beautiful, clean, friendly shelter staff. They do vaccinations on Tuesday, and Thursday. Surrender cats Friday and Saturday. Monday and wed are dog surrender days but call before you go because for a surrender you will be placed on a wait list.

My husband and I have been visiting/shopping this pet store for a couple of years now, and it recently has changed ownership. We’ve since met the new owner, and we were impressed with how friendly they were. We continue to shop here regularly, for our water for our fish aquariums, and all of our other pet needs. Plus, they have a 50% off rack when you walk in!!!

We recently got a Bichon/Poodle mix and a few days after we got home, she got very sick. The owner could not have been more kind and understanding. She took care of the situation and our baby girl is all better and doing great!!

This was just sad they had dogs in very small cages and the smaller rodents could barely walk around in their cages. definitely not going back. There makes me sick. Just walking in.

It saddens me to see when a pet store does not properly care for the animals that they have for adoption. Especially with creatures as delicate as rabbits. Rabbits need an unlimited supply of hay for constant GI movement. Pellets do not suffice. There was hay in one enclosure, but not the other. Please improve your care of these animals and educate employees on how to care for them.

First time there today. They have alot of really cool animals which is why I gave them 3 stars. I took away stars because we thought we were getting reed frogs, because they were labeled as reed frogs at 19.99 a piece. When we asked for them we even said reed frogs. We even asked questions about them. We also wanted to buy an enclosure priced at 149.99. My husband picked it up and was taking it to the register and a man said he got him one. They looked exactly the same. I looked at my receipt later on in the evening. We ended up being charged for three white tree frogs which were 50 dollars a piece and the enclosure they switched out with the one my husband had was 179.99 not 149.99. So we paid 30 dollars extra for the enclosure and then 30 dollars extra for each frog than we had thought. So we spent around 120 more dollars than we thought we were going to spend. I was really surprised at how expense everything ended up being but I didn’t take time to look until later tonight.
