- Reviews:Terrible service! 6 employees working, made me wait for service while they set up a Yeti display! Then, sales person was rude and not speaking in layman’s terms to me like I was not intelligent. I gave him the exact bolt I needed, only needed it in a longer version, full thread, he sold me a longer 1 with 1/2 way thread. Meanwhile, friend waiting with broken down motorcycle tried to make it work, but ended up blowing a head gasket BECAUSE AFTER THE WAIT, HE NEVER EVEN SOLD ME THE RIGHT BOLT. I told him I did not have the knowledge, but he had the bolt example. I called the store, the girl in paint offered me the manager who had every excuse in the book for their POOR service and did not even offer an apology….told me they were not mechanics and then hung up on me! I called back to ask for a number for their District Mgr, it was 1 minute until closing and he said sorry, we are closed and hung up on me as well. We have had poor service here before, but this really was the worst! Wide selection of quality hardware. Knowledgeable, pleasant staff. A fellow named Jack was especially helpful. You won’t get those quality of service at a big box.
It was easier to find what I needed in a very short amount of time compared to the bigger competitors. I asked someone, which in itself is impossible at the bigger places and was directed to the exact location of my request. The checkout line was very quick if I waited at all.
Definitely a great option if you don’t want to deal with the larger alternatives!
Ace is a great local hardware store. They stock a bit of everything, including boat n fishing equipment, even frozen bait! Helpful friendly staff and EZ parking. Ace is a little bit more expensive vs the big box hardware stores, but these stores are usually locally owned and carry high quality items.
Went by for memorial day weekend cookout listed as 11:30 to 2pm. Arrived at 11:45, no hamburgers ready just hot dogs. Went in bought a wrench. When I went out, all the burgers were gone and the ace employee girl was holding the last one for herself. They closed down operations at 12:15. How pathetic. Buying my new Weber at Ace on Metro. Won’t be back to this one.
