What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I will never patronize this Home Depot again after my online delivery experience.

I actually go out of my way to avoid this location. It’s been inferior in many ways for years.

However, when I made an online order for *threshold* delivery (an important note), I was not aware that this location would process my order.

I placed my order on 11/30/22 and it was incompletely delivered on 12/7/22.

The days between were filled with less than professional contact between myself and the store. It left much to be desired.

Threshold delivery is a paid service where the items are placed in your home. Otherwise, with standard store delivery, items are placed outside of the home. Again, I paid the extra fee for Threshold.

When my items arrived today, I did not receive the service I paid for. My items were dumped in the street and on the side walk. When I asked the driver to at least but them on my property, he declined.

During the numerous points of contact with Home Depot delivery associates at this location, no one mentioned that there might be a difference between the driver who would drop the product and the laborers who would take it the items inside.

When I spoke to a delivery associate at road drop off, I asked what would happen in case of theft. She said the store isn’t responsible. (Side note – I promise Home Depot will eat this if anything happens to my items that are still on the road).

She also said the threshold deliverers would arrive 30 mins from the time I called. They have not arrived and it’s been 2 hours since the arrival time she told me.

I have spent an hour on the phone with Home Depot corporate. They allegedly arranged my for complete delivery to be prioritized. The store told corporate the crew was coming directly to me. That conversation as 1 hour ago.

It’s an all around trash experience. I do not recommend this location. Lowes is around the corner. Menards isn’t far.

  2. I went here last night with my husband to get a few items before closing. We were helped by a gentleman by the name of Derrell. He worked in the Paint section. He was patient and very informative when helping us decide on which tools and type of paint to use for our home. He educated us on which types of paint would fit in each rooms based on the different kinds/textures. He made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend returning here.

  3. Went in to pick up things. Suddenly needed rest room. Asked sec guard and he pointed to corner. Turns out it was straight down the aisle. I’m elderly. Hard to walk. Can’t trust Gen z to point a bathroom, fn punks. 😡🙄

  4. The employee working in this location could use a little customer service training. Instead of asking could they help you they were eagerly trying to get away from customers near garden area..

  5. If you’ve ever been to a Home Depot then you know what to expect from this location – it is what it is.

I tried to have a washer/dryer delivered and installed. I was out of town but my spouse was home to accept the delivery and installation. They told her they couldn’t hook up the exhaust for the dryer because one of the connectors wasn’t completely round. They also “couldn’t” stack the washer and dryer because there was only a couple inches of clearance from the ceiling once they were stacked (what?).

When I returned home a few days later, I bent the connector out with my hand and connected the dryer exhaust without any issue. I didn’t want to risk stacking the washer/dryer with only myself and my spouse due to her small stature, so I tried to return the stacking kit to the same location using the delivery receipt we were provided by the delivery driver. The person at the register AND their supervisor both told me that they couldn’t find the kit in their system and the reason for that was that I was never charged for the stacking kit as it was a part of the washer/dryer combo. I went over to the washer/dryer department and they found the $30~ charge immediately in their system’s history and were able to help me go back to the front and get my refund for the stacking kit.

What a pain, and I never got any partial refund for the delivery driver failing to complete the install or stacking the washer and dryer – a service that I most certainly paid for in full!

Came into Home Depot last week and saw a nice fleece lined cap that I regretted not buying. So came back today to buy the cap and the section it was in had been rearranged. I was told by a check out employee that their app said it had moved to aisle 12. Nothing there. So she said to ask customer service. Customer service had no idea where they could be and told me just to walk around and I should be able to run into the hats. I left the store angry, frustrated and hat-less

I ordered the bench online and it came in less than a week, it was true to the picture. I loved it so much that I ordered the matching side table online for in store pick up. It was fast and easy to pickup! I looked all over for affordable patio furniture at different stores, so just went online and found many options at Home Depot. I usually only shop for plants or house paint in store, employees are friendly in those departments , Ren is awesome in the paint department and knows her products, always helpful and friendly, very patient! The bench was easy to put together, came in four pieces and everything included.

I went to the Lincolnwood location, looking to find tools and parts to anchor something to the outside brick wall of my home and I asked Mike, an older gentleman who I quickly realized that he had a wealth of knowledge about almost everything. The parts and the suggestions he recommended and gave me worked out perfectly and I am very grateful. The job turned out perfectly. So thank you to Mike and Home Depot for the reaaaallly great quality of service and products. And before I forget, I was also in the Garden Department and there was a young lady working out there and totally helped me with my olanti and planting questions. She definitely went out of her way to help me, I’m sorry I don’t remember her name. But you know who you are, you helped me with the perennials and told me to get a bag of mulch. Thank you very much.🍻

I’m not very thrilled with this particular store. I don’t believe the customer is the main focus. Quite a few employees here that probably shouldn’t be. The training they get isn’t adequate, so they aren’t able to assist the customer properly. There are also a few that just walk around aimlessly playing on their phones doing absolutely nothing. Managed to mess up a few deliveries amongst other things which put us and our whole crew out of work for the day.

Something strange going on at this Home Depot location. I spend abou $20k-$100k a year at Home Depot at various locations in Chicago. Last week I tried to order a couple of windows over phone, like I have done dozens of times before and they refused, saying they can’t sell windows over phone anymore. Then one of my workers picked up another order that was missing an item (happens once every few months, honest mistake by desk), and they now refuse to fill the missing item saying vaguely security needs to review tapes but hasn’t gotten to it yet. Never experienced anything like it, maybe a theft ring by some employees or something else going on. Better to go to other Home Depot stores, where customer service much better for regular customers.
