  1. This Marshall’s is one of the worst I”ve been to. They have good things at times, but they also have a lot of defective items on the sales floor so check your items carefully before purchasing. I wanted to buy two identical lamps (see picture below). One of the lamps should have never been on the floor as the part that holds the lamp shade was widened, so it couldn’t hold the shade and the filial was missing. When I picked it up the lamp shade fell off. I checked the one I had carefully, or so I thought, but when I got it home and was ready to use it, I noticed the turn knob was missing. I have never had a problem with the merchandise I’ve bought at other Marahall’s, but I have had to return defective, broken, or items missing from a set more than once to the Marshall’s in Columbia Heights. Further, this visit there were items on the shelf that had no price tags. I let someone know about that and the employee found one out of the dozen identical items that were on the shelf with a price tag on it, then took it from me so she could make tags for the others. She asked me to wait until she returned with all the new tags, then I could but one. She was gone for quite a while, so I did not wait nor did I buy that item. The appropriate response would have been to apologize for the inconvenience, ask whether I minded continue shopping while she got the items tagged, and give me an approximate time to check back to grab the item. Very poor customer service, but not surprising at the Columbia Heights Marshall’s. Moreover, the store is often messy and really cramped, so when I do go there, I am focused and try to get in and out as quickly as I can, because it is rarely a good shopping experience at this place.

  3. This is a pretty decent Marshall’s. Sometimes they have so much merchandise that it feels a little congested and unorganized. The checkout line always looks long but moves quickly.

I shop here sometimes mostly when necessary, inventory tampered with on the floor, missing pieces in items, clothes marked with the wrong sizes, etc. Today I put an item in my cart and once it came time to pay I remember putting the (small) item on the counter, the cashier rung it up and “placed it in the bag” but once I got home it wasn’t in the bag? I checked everywhere and nothing, I kept that bag next to me so no one could’ve grabbed it. I checked on the receipt and I was still charged, pretty sure the cashier stole it so. 1 star probably won’t shop here again.

    The store I well maintained and always clean. There is a good selection of natural hair care products and skin creams. There isn’t a large plus size selection. I’m general there is 1 rack with all the clothes that are 14+ and up and the clothes never appeal to me. I like the household section and home organization products. Overall it’s a good location with a broad selection.

    Picked these babies up for 34.99. Very clean very friendly staff. Dressings rooms were spotless! Peak time is around 12 so it was pretty busy. Tons of help from the staff on the floor. I will be returning to this location soon.

    Place is clean and has decent variety. Good parking. We had a bad experience with cashier HELEN, she is awfully rude. We wanted to make sure the prize for a certain piece of jewelry was right, and she proceeded to treat us like we were thieves. She ripped the sale label in plane view and without even addressing our question.

    This is a great store. The customer service is excellent. Every time I go in this store for one thing I end up having a basket full of stuff. the prices are very reasonable for name brand item they have a good selection for all your needs. 👍👍
