What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Our water heater went out suddenly making a mess. We called Applewood Plumbing and they had someone in route within an hour. The technician Brian N. came out and explained everything to us and gave us the available options. It was too late in the day to replace the hot water heater, but he was back out by 8:30 the next morning and removed the old heater and installed the new one in just 2.5 hours. The new heater now has a tray underneath it that drains to the floor drain and a water alarm installed in the tray to warn if there is a leak. Brian was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable and did the job quickly and efficiently. Overall an excellent experience with Applewood Plumbing and with Brian. I would be comfortable recommending them to anyone I know.

  2. Both times that I’ve used Applewood, I’ve been incredibly impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the technicians. The people setting the appointments on the phone seem to be humans who actually enjoy working with the public. I needed an emergency response and they kept their appointment on time within only a couple of hours of my call! Very impressive! I’ve heard they run on the expensive side… but I believe sometimes you get exactly what you pay for. No nonsense, fair & thorough explanations of the work needed, appropriate behavior in the home, fun attitude while working. Loved it. As much as a person could love a surprise plumbing bill.

  3. I called and spoke to a real and professional person who helped me get an appointment within the day. The time frame given was reasonable and I was called when the tech was on his way. Also received a text with tech info. The technician arrived on time and listened to me explain my issue with the furnace. He explained it was a common issue and he would do a thorough checkup. I joined the gold member club last summer when they came out to do repair on my AC. After he cleaned and ran tests he showed me what the results were and that my check up was part of my membership and there would be no fee. I appreciated all the excellent service and felt I was well informed and got good value for money I previously paid. I will definitely recommend their services to anyone! Well done Applewood!

  4. In the past, I have had great service from Applewood employees, and I expected no less this today. However, today, Milo Sandoval superseded all expectations I had for my heater maintenance appointment. Milo was so pleasant and informative, offering suggestions on how to best maintain my heater (and plumbing) in between appointments. Additionally, he offered memberships for cost savings, and answered all my furnace-related questions related. Not only do I feel ready for winter but am also prepared to take care of that monster in the crawl space until its annual service next year. I am filled with glee by the effort and insight Milo provided. His professionalism helped turn a task that I typically put off as long as possible – into a very pleasant one.
    Signed,
    Happy Customer

  5. Our furnace went out late last night and I am so grateful we were able to get an appointment with Applewood within just a couple hours of calling early this morning! Milo was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient, and took the time to explain everything to me so that I could see what happened, and make decisions on repair options. I highly recommend this company and feel at ease as a new, learning home owner knowing that I can call Applewood for future needs.

Brothers answered my call instantly. Brenda was very helpful and sweet, at 9:45 PM. The promised time slot the following day was met and very much appreciated – especially since my previous promised time slot with a different company had been repeatedly put off – for 3 days!! The technician who handled my call, John Morgan, was superb! He was professional, very kind, and thoroughly skilled! He replaced the old, failed 30+ year-old outdoor faucet and got my water supply turned back on. He also replaced our 30-year-old garbage disposal. All done with ease and excellent clean-up after. He was backed up by their parts department. He wanted to install the exact, correct size pipe; which, at his request, was delivered by them within the hour – straight to my door. My Covid preferences were followed as well. Brothers has just won over a new customer. Thank you, thank you!!

Had a leaking water heater. Called and had a technician, Chuck, available to come out within a couple hours of my initial call. He inspected the issue and discussed the diagnosis. Answered all my questions and was extremely professional from start to finish. Did a great job with installing a new water heater. Excellent service!

The more ive seen the work the less i am satisfied. There were old trash pipes left inside and outside, the dishwasher wasnt screwed into the cabinet. The worst part is that Cody didnt have enough materials to fully finish the job so I had to go purchase hose extensions to make the final product suitable and finish the installation myself after he had already left. Just did not do the full job and it was not the cheapest. I reached back out to brothers to have them come fix it so the pipes went along the side. A different technician came out and he did a great job. Added pipe and although he did have to use the extra material I purchased, which is ridiculous that i had to do that, he made the pipe go along the outside of the cabinet and fixed it to my standards. He tested the dishwasher to make sure it wasnt leaking and really made the job how it should have been done the first time.

Denver’s premiere home services company! Truly one of the best family-owned businesses. Great provider for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, but an amazing employer to boot! Highly recommend.

Install new whole home humidifier on furnace. Mark even arrived a bit early which was great. Gave me a great overview with pricing so the decision to move forward was an easy one. He was able to locate the model we decided on and install it the same day. Because of the age of our furnace there were some electrical issues which he was able to resolve for a completely successful installation. As a side note, this is not the first time we have used Brothers. They also did an amazing job on a huge mitigation project.

Another great experience. We corrected my email this time and I got extra business cards so I can share with my neighbors. Couldn’t be happier with this company and it’s service members. I saw literally, one bad review and I am sorry that a person did not have the same experiences I have had. Very respectful. Danny can in with his shoe protection and asked to see if every drain and and even though only one needed work, I appreciate the due diligence on his part to get my satisfaction. If there was anything lacking previously, I’m sure this owner has met the challenges to get this team on board with excellent service.

I will not do business with A Better Plumber ever again. I contacted A Better Plumber for an emergency water leak of my water heater and my indoor water main valve. They came out the next day to help me shut off the water and started repairs a day after that. The water heater was overdue to be replaced and so was the valve. They sold me a new tankless water heater, a new shutoff valve, a pressure reducing valve, and an inline filter. The total cost was just under $13,000. The installers were professional, the work was good, and the job was done in about a day. I thought the price was a little high but the job was done well and done quick so I let it go. I was a little bothered when they pressured me to sign a document waiving my right to cancel the job within three days but since the job was complete in under three days I let that go, too. I also had a potential sewer issue marked on my inspection (I recently purchased the house) so I asked them to take a look. The person they sent out to inspect the sewer took one look and immediately said all of the cast iron had to be replaced because the additives they put in our food corrode cast iron and if I don’t replace it right away it will leak beneath my foundation and cause major problems. He also said the plumbing leading to the cast iron (the “main stack”) was outdated and needed to be completely replaced. The estimate he sent to replace the main stack plus 20 feet of interior sewer line was $12,500. I was uneasy with his hard-sell tactics, pushing for immediate repair and pressuring again to have me waive my right to cancel. I decided to call another plumber for a second opinion. The second company says there isn’t any clear damage to the cast iron. They offered to do a cleaning for $350 before inspecting again. If it truly needs to be replaced they said it should be around $8000 at the highest. They also said that the main stack was clearly recently replaced and in good condition. They ran scopes around to inspect it as well, which A Better Plumber didn’t do. I did some quick searching to find pricing for the items A Better Plumber installed in the first job vs what they charged me. Here’s what I found: * Navien NPE-241A2 Tankless Water Heater – Google: $1900 – A Better Plumber: $9599 * Halo 9 Inline Filter – Google: $500 – A Better Plumber: $1800 * PRV-100 Pressure Reducing Valve – Google: $200-$500 – A Better Plumber: $1398.99 My opinion: They did a good job. They charged a LOT of money. They tried to upsell unnecessary repairs. I will not do business with them again. Edit to respond to Jeff, the Owner: When I had the first job done, I was impressed by Beau and Jimmy’s work. They were professional, they seemed to know what they were doing, and they got the job done. I felt uneasy at the cost but I understood it was a quick response and, in general, I’m willing to pay a premium for professional work. The prices I listed above come straight from the invoice they gave me. There was no separate line item for finance costs. That was advertised as 0%. (No mention of any added fees) For the second job, your man Jansen came out. He told me that additives in food will rot cast iron, especially if it is right below the kitchen. He told me that the main stack was clearly original and had to be replaced (it was actually a replacement for the original cast iron, in good shape, and the next plumber showed me how to tell). He told me within seconds of the scope hitting the pipe that it was “bottomed out” and clearly needed emergency replacement. He never mentioned cleaning or further inspections. He also pushed me to waive my right to cancel even though the earliest he could start the job would be four days later. It was his hard-sell used-car-salesman tactics that soured my opinion of the whole business and led me to question all of the work done up to that point. My bottom line is that the first job was a good job and it was incredibly expensive. Other people can look at the numbers and decide for themselves. The numbers are straight from the invoice.

Cody did an awesome job! He came out on time, was efficient in his work, everything was done well, and he was happy to explain the process when we had questions. I’d give A Better Plumber 6/5 stars if I could.
