What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I have lived here for 3 years. I hear all sorts of complaints about it. Believe me I have lived in places that are far worse. Try the Albert Pike Hotel before you complain about it here. These complainers just look for things to complain about. If you keep away from them and mind your own business then your apartment can be your own piece of Heaven. If you don’t have peace in yourself then you don’t have peace at all. At first I thought the new manager was a bit strict but she has over 200 crazy Austonians to deal with, so I commend her. The place is a lot cleaner and we are getting better tenants. Hey, this is Austin! Deal with it!

  2. My 100% disabled (veteran) dad has been here for the last three almost four years- and through multiple management switches we have stayed with them. They recently started a new towing policy – where your car is towed if there isn’t a permit. And you are only allowed to visit a loved one 3 times a week. They had mentioned that during their open hours you’d be able to visit, but as a teacher who works out in the country this wasn’t helpful. This has been a headache for everyone, especially since this apartment complex is for the elderly. I visit my dad often and will stay with him often so he doesn’t feel so alone. I had called the front office asking for a permit- since my dad is a 100% disabled veteran with mental health issues- it isn’t safe nor healthy for him to be alone so much and since I work full time I’m unable to “visit during regular hours.” They have me a permit through the 16th- and then I’d have to come in and meet with them. But that they aren’t able to give a resident two permits- and I was only allowed to visit 3 times a week. I’d have through the 16th and then afterwards I’d be restricted on when I can visit my father. I was visiting my father when my car was towed at 6am on the 16th. Not only is it frustrating to be restricted to how often I can see my elderly father and then on top to visit thinking I’m “cleared” to do so and to get my car towed. If they would have communicated that it was till the 15 then I would have made proper arrangements. A neighbor had her car parked in visitors and it was still towed. Just be aware if you plan on visiting your loved ones often- or if they are disabled or have a mental illness – this apartment complex wouldn’t be a good fit for you. I just wish they thought about the community they served and their needs before restricting the visitation rights on an apartment complex aimed for the elderly. My dad had decided to go ahead and put his notice in – we will miss the people, but to have a community where family is able to support and take care of our elders is more important. We will find a complex where they understand the needs of their community and that does not restrict how often we can visit our loved ones.We want a place that feels like a home- not a prision.

  3. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lettie Cantu and her staff, Libni Ramos, for my experience living here at V@BW. I have lived here a year, with Lettie’s staff being the second management I’ve encountered. They have been most courteous and taken the time to listen to my concerns. Situations have not always been done as fast as I would like, but then she has Management to deal with that doesn’t happen quickly as well as outside vendors. The Maintenance staff is most courteous and has always addressed my issues in a timely manner, and have always completed very well. I have been most pleased with the work Jorge and Gigi have completed. Thank you Lettie.

  4. Our new management team is doing an awesome job cleaning up our property and making The Villages a nice place to live again. I’ve lived here going on 7 yrs and now I don’t feel like I need to move.
Our manager Leticia Cantu and her team, GiGi, Libni and Jorge gave all us mother’s a beautiful Mother’s Day dinner and I really appreciate you all.

  5. I have lived here for just a bit over 3 years. I moved here from the Chicagoland area. I have seen 3 management teams since I’ve been here. This last team with Ms. Lety runs a tight ship. I really don’t have any major complaint at all. On the contrary, I very much recommend moving here. Ms. Lety has been supportive and understanding of any issue that I have had, from lost keys to copy of lease etc. I recommend The Villages at Ben White!

The Continental is a wonderful independent living community tucked back into the greenbelt. It’s surrounded by big lovely trees and a nice walking path. The apartments are spacious and many have nice balconies. It’s a bustling community, there’s always an activity or a meal going on, and everyone there is so friendly! Kristin Howard is passionate about her job and a great resource for families.

This retirement community is beautiful… first off, the facility itself has a great location… away from the main street and backed into a picturesque creek. When you first walk in, there is a very grand high ceiling and on one of the beams there is a beautiful quote, and a large living room, card tables, piano, and a fireplace, so quaint and wonderful. But, even better than all that are the staff. The one person that stood out the most was Erin Garcia… a shining star. Her smile is so sweet and she is so warm and welcoming. Her food service skills were attentive and would be at home in a five star restaurant… she is a jewel in a first rate establishment that receives my highest recommendation!

The Continental is a beautiful retirement community tucked away from the street. so amazing how they allow the residents to have pets of their own and tons of activities, classes , vast variety of foods to feast on & also special guest performers that come by every so often to entertain their residents! I must speak on how clean it is there from the polished furniture onto the upkeep of their front door/parking lot. Erin Garcia really does do her job with loving, communicating and giving her all to keeping the building as 100% as it needs to be! I highly recommend living there!

The staff does a wonderful job!!! I would especially like to mention the work done by Erin Garcia…she does everything with a smile, does a great job of making us feel comfortable and is very meticulous in her work. Our room is kept very clean and the young lady goes out of her way to make sure we are very well accommodated. If everyone, in every job, took on the same attitude as this young lady, there would never be a need to complain about service. Thank you, Erin!

My mother lived at the Renaissance Austin for the past 2 years on the Assisted Living side. My mother’s and my experiences in AL have been absolutely amazing. Jennifer Scott personally checked on my mother several times after mom moved to AL and once even went to the Skilled Nursing Home my mother was staying to encourage her to cooperate with the therapists so she could come back to the Renaissance. Jennifer’s care and concern was extended to me as well when she took the time out of her very busy schedule to listen to my concerns. Jennifer is both compassionate and efficient. I never had to worry about the care mom was getting because the aides and med techs were always right on top of mom’s physical and emotional needs. It is very apparent none of them consider the job as just a job. Instead they consider it their purpose to work with older people. I don’t know all of the aides since I was usually there during the morning shift and sometimes the weekend shift but I know they were excellent. My mother who could be quite verbal about her displeasure never complained about any of them. She often told me the nice extras they did for her. They not only made sure my mother was comfortable, but they relieved my worries about not being there all the time. I have told many of my friends about the experiences I’ve had at the Renaissance, and they’ve all agreed that this is not the typical kind of care older people receive in Assisted Living Facilities. I completely agree! Jennifer and the Renaissance AL staff are absolutely superb! Because of them, my mother considered the Renaissance her home- not just a place she had to be.

Nice location-horrible sewage smell throughout the wing where the dining room is. When it was mentioned to the staff, she replied, it is an old building & is being looked into AND is not the reason the residents will not have water (a notice we saw, said the residentswould be without water at a scheduled time the next day). Staff had problems returning calls and following through with what they said they’d do (for months, blamed a new computer program for the website not being updated but according to corporate, that was not accurate.)

The construction workers are blocking the whole road that goes around the complex. When asked what is taking so long they were rude with an attitude. You should have better maintain people.

I toured The Renaissance for assisted living options for my mother last week. Audrey was spectacular and shared a wealth of knowledge not only about Assisted Living, but she answered so many other questions I had about elder care. The Renaissance is an excellent option for anyone looking for either Independent or Assisted Living.

This place is gorgeous! The landscaping is lush and colorful. I love sitting on the back porch and soaking it all in. The interior is classicly decorated and smells like cookies (they frequently put out fresh delicious cookies). What I notice most about this community is how friendly the residents are- they all seem really happy. The staff is always kind and helpful. I have been very impressed by how many activities they have going on. They have physical fitness, bingo, weekly happy hours (often with live music) and a annual car show that is awesome!!
