What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. On a cold, snowy night… Moscow on the Hill really hits the spot with that hearty, comfort food vibe. We’ve been here a couple of times before for their peasant dumplings, but we decided to try other things tonight and as usual, we’re not disappointed. The service is always good. And during this time of year, it’s very festive and warmly decorated with Christmas lights and decor. I love it!

  2. Everything we had was delicious!

Cocktails were great and we ordered quite a few apps (we got 1 per person since we split entrees but about 1 per 2 people would be about right as they are on the smaller side). We then got 3 orders of dumplings to share between 6 people.

The service, food, and ambiance were all outstanding. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!

  3. Amazing food. This is without any doubt a 5 out of 5. The flavors, textures and portions were on point. Everything tasted excellent. Service was great. The beer was good. This is so far my favorite Russian restaurant and probably one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend this place.

  4. We ended up stopping in here last minute. We were able to get a seat at the bar right away or they offered us to sit at the couches.

I am from Europe and have had a few of the true authentic meals. The meals here are close to authentic, but they are definitely dialed down in flavor, I am assuming to make it more suitable for most people.

I had the stuffed cabbage, which tasted good, but it was a tad bland from how I make it and with what I grew up with. However, I can see why so many others like it without being able to compare it to something they are familiar with.

My wife got the beef stroganoff, which was very flourish, very thick sauce. You could almost taste the flour. But it was still good enough to eat and enjoy.

They have some great vodka drink selections at a pretty reasonable price, especially when compared to other places in the area.

If you grew up with true authentic European meals, this might be a bit bland, but for others, this is a great intro to European/Russian meals.

  5. This is a really fun restaurant with a ton of great options. We sat outside on their patio and it was fantastic. All of our food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. They make all of their infused vodka’s in house and I’d highly recommend trying them out in their cocktails.

I would recommend this place 100% if you haven’t tried it. The food was amazing, we went for restaurant week and had that menu. Everything was great, we had the butternut squash curry soup, the escargot, shrimp risotto, spare rib with mashed potatoes and the creme brulee and vanilla ice cream. I can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes. The staff was also very friendly and great!

Had lunch here for Restaurant Week 2022 and couldn’t be less disappointed in both service and food quality. I have been to France and Switzerland and have had real Croque Monsieur: for a French restaurant that calls the menu item by the original French name, I was expecting more than a dry ham sandwich (see picture). The mixed greens on the side were warm and not refreshing whatsoever. The server never checked on us after bringing the food even though the place wasn’t that busy. With these menu prices, there are FANTASTIC restaurants in the twin cities area to try. Will never be back here again.

My friend and I came here for brunch. I did not manage to try everything I would like to, but what I had was good! First of all, out of all things, the atmosphere and vibe were great, and it was a good environment for intimate conversations. Food-wise, my friend and I had the Croque Monsieur, the Quiche, some fries, and waffles. We also had a vanilla crème brûlée as dessert. Everything was well-made. My only suggestion is that the green salad placed on the side of both the quiche and the Croque Monsieur seemed more symbolic and conveniently placed on the plate without much work into it. Personally I would like to see the main food in a dish and the side occupying similar degrees of importance, if that makes sense. I think for people who would like to grab brunch to catch up with friends, etc., this will be a great place. I am sure there is a lot more food that I did not end up trying this time, too, so I am down to go back!

Had dinner with a couple friends and everything was spot on. Busy, even on a week night, so I’d recommend reservations. The raw oysters were fresh and yummy, we tries both west and east coast ones! The local cheeses and spreads were delicious and the baguette was warm and soft. All the food took a bit of time but was made to order and came out hot and fresh. The Roast Poulet was divine, moist, with the skin cooked to perfection. The demi glaze was spot on and the veggies were delicious. You’ve got to try the shrimp scampi! The linguine is made IN HOUSE and is PERFECTION! If you order the strawberry crisp, eat fast! It comes out hot so the ice cream melts fast.

Not very good as it’s hyped up to be. We only came here since we had a gift card, restaurant is extremely loud and service is friendly but is generally still poor and slow. Food isn’t that good for the price point. A lot of attention goes to “organic and local meat/vegetables”. Typically, meat is local no matter where you go for an actual sit down restaurant- the furthest meat gets shipped in from would be Wisconsin/Dakotas/Iowa. All organic and natural restaurants add these buzz words to dock on 10 extra dollars. I would be more impressed by this restaurant if they had a rotating seasonal menu, but since visiting in summer 2020, the menu is exactly the same- just higher prices. My partner and I realized after ordering that our appetizer was pretty much just bland mashed potatoes on top of pizza crust. We requested hot sauce to add flavor. Turkey Rachel was good, and housemade ketchup is great! I don’t understand why places nowadays steer clear from the typical corn beef on Rubens, but whatever. We also ordered a Pear and beet salad with steak on top. Salad had absolutely no pears, and dressing tasted like complete sugar. Also, apparently adding steak to a salad means 5 small pieces with an $8 up charge. Anyways, unless you want to be surrounded by cake eaters that think they’re better than you for eating all organic and local produce at overpriced restaurants, pass on this place!

I had the Rachel sandwich and fries and it was delicious. Small, cozy place on Grand Ave. Reservations recommended on weekends or you’ll probably have a short wait. Lots of organic, vegan, and vegetarian options. Good coffee and pastry selection as well.

We had a reservation for a party of 13 with 4 kids for Mother’s Day. Everyone seemed happy with their orders. The server was great. I just took a few pictures of food. Not a lot of space for that many people around two tables pushed together but it worked. They had kids menus and crayons. Would go again with a smaller group or just my husband and me.

Great place, great food. Went there to try the Tomato Basil soup. Loved it. Loved the tacos as well. Reasonable pricing, fast service. Will definitely return.

French Meadow was a lovely experience. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy but we received our food very quickly. We were running late for our reservation and I gave them a call and the hostess was so sweet and kept our table for us. Highly recommend checking this place out!
