What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. My absolute favorite restaurant. The most consistent experience you can have in Baltimore. Escargot, steak frites, cucumber salad are my big favorites. And martinis poured table side. The maître de Patrick (he’s from Lyon, France) makes everyone feel at home.

  2. Petit Louis is one of the gems of Baltimore.

Every appetizer and entree I’ve had here absolutely slaps and can hold its own against some of the best restaurants in the country. Dishes are not overly complicated and every component had purpose on the plate and is executed with perfection. Duck confit, beet salad, and braised veal are some of the best hitting dishes to our palates that we’ve ever had. 🤯 I lick my plates here with little to no shame, it’s honestly that good. Only caveat is that I haven’t been as blown away by the desserts as much as the appetizers, so I skew towards indulging in their apps.

    If you haven’t been to Petit Louis, you need to fix that A 👏 S 👏 A 👏 P 👏.

Edit: I really love how flavorful yet refreshing their vichyssoise is as well. Sweetbreads are really well done, but the plate was very, very rich on the palate. My tongue needed acid or something to brighten the bites.

  3. Wonderful restaurant. Unfortunately there were a few bumps in service. Our bottles of wine did not come until we were midway through our entree. The food taste and quality was excellent.

Atmosphere: 4 a bit loud but a very cozy feel
    Food: 4 excellent quality
Service: 3 lots of waiting for drinks and wine.
Value: (cost vs. the experience): 3

  4. I am french and this is the BEST french restaurant in the state. The staff is amazing ,some of them are real french people and the chef is a magician. No waiting time for me at all. Everyone in the restaurant looked happy, including the staff. I missed home and it was definitely the place to be

  5. The food wasn’t that great as expected. Service and atmosphere are unforgettable.
However, for set of 3 dishes we got really small portions. We left hungry.

I was walking the neighborhood with friends and randomly stumbled into the restaurant which was a wonderful happy accident. They had a great live music duo playing in the patio outside which really added to the ambiance. I chose the 3 course meal with the MD crab soup, sea bass, and dessert. The crab soup was good, but the highlight was the sea bass with risotto and asparagus. Cooked to perfection! So glad I happened upon this restaurant!

I love coming here. It’s always a nice little spot to sit and have a good meal. The food is great and the owner, Marie, is really sweet. I was introduced to this place by some of my friends who happen to be close friends of the owner and I’m always really pleased every time I come. They are doing outside seating right now with heaters at night and it’s still a nice little cozy setting in Mt. Vernon. Really recommend

Popped in for a pre-dinner drink and I’m so happy we decided to stay for their small plates. Escargot Forestiere was delicious… I. Mushroom was a nice blend and the sauce was on point. Had the French Pear and it was a polished blend of refreshing and potent. Wish we had time to stay for dinner!

Cute and cozy bistro with GREAT food, coffee, service, and atmosphere. Attentive waiters, lovely decor and interior lighting, great, uncomplicated menu, friendly prices, and wonderful tasting food! I’ve been twice so far on visits to Baltimore. Most recently, I got the Croque Madame sandwich, consisting of ham, cheese, an egg overeasy, and bread, drizzled with a creamy white sauce and includes a side of delicious thin cut French Fries. It’s well presented on the dish, it satiates the appetite, and it doesn’t break your wallet. Very delicious and wholly recommended by me! I also got a Cappuccino which, common enough, was delicious and comes in a large cup. The atmosphere, too, is pleasant and feels relaxing to just sip and unwind. They had, too, a live jazz band playing upstairs over the balcony while I dined by the front window below. It was very enjoyable and really elevated the experience. I haven’t tried much else yet of the menu, but am looking forward to in the future. I also showed up on a Friday evening without a reservation and didn’t encounter any seating problems. Parking outside is paid street parking until, I believe, 6pm (double check and read meters). I didn’t encounter any parking issues either, and was able to find a spot pretty quickly. Overall, I love this place and definitely recommend it!! Pricing was $14 for the Croque Madame + Fries, and $5 for a Cappuccino. 5/5 stars from me!

I met such wonderful staff while here. Such a cute and charming place to dine! Organic and fun energy. Good music. Old, rustic feelings. I tried their brunch and will be back for dinner! Rosa and the whole team treated me with excellence. Loved it! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Been here about 7 or 8 times. I might have even written a review already but I figured I would do another one. This is an awesome spot. For a celebration, date night, treat yourself, or simply to get away for the evening. Go on a Friday or Saturday night to see some amazing performances and embrace the atmosphere. Most folks are very open to chatting and mingling at the bar and that area. The food is pricey yes, but pretty much always worth it. Honestly if you ask me roasted duck with fries for $40 really isn’t that bad given the quality and atmosphere. Go in to dine with the expectation that it will be a classier meal and you won’t be disappointed. The bar is awesome, lots of lovely bartenders like Louis and Michael who have an arsenal of drinks and suggestions. Anything you want, they got. I have very little to complain about regarding this establishment. Would love to review the full menu but for now I’ll try one thing at a time.

We made a last minute reservation for 930 pm on a Saturday, but wanted to see the performances before they ended at 11, so we came early around 815. We checked-in and waited in the bar area. We were about to get seats and enjoy the performances over drinks and actually had a better view of the stage than when we got a table for dinner. We got the text that our table was ready a few minutes before our reservation. It was our first time here, and our server was very friendly and helpful. The gnocchi was amazing as a starter, but I didn’t think it was worth the cost. The bread that’s brought to every table was fantastic, and I highly recommend listening to all of the reviews and getting corn pudding for the table. Paying a little more for dry aged beef was beyond worth it. We also had mac and cheese as a side, which could be shared between 2-3 people. Overall a wonderful and unique dining experience. We can’t wait to come back again. Just make sure you book in advance and have realistic expectations with seating – it’s a busy and popular restaurant for a reason. Get there early, and if you have to wait past your reservation for a table, just enjoy being in such a memorable atmosphere. Also, make sure you check the performance schedule to help you select what night you want to make a reservation for.

Our first visit here and it did not disappoint. What a great way to bring in my birthday. Beautiful ambience, delicious food and live entertainment. Not even sure how I never been to the place. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was a bit loud after a certain hour but it didn’t bother us too much. The entertainment was short but beautifully done. They were engaging and it was a nice extra touch to such a beautiful restaurant. We will definitely visit again.

This place is sexy! The atmosphere is awesome. The shows were great. Food is amazing. I have zero complaints about this place. Only negative is that the guy at the door told us to go to the bar if it was open, we went and told them we were at the bar. They text us, we didn’t realize it until a little bit later and he told us he was about to give our table away. We told him we were at the bar like he suggested and he had a bit of attitude. Aside from that it was all amazing.

We went here last night for our anniversary and it was an all around amazing experience. We started out at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and the drinks were excellent. We were then sat at the very front of the stage and got to watch the performances up close. The performers were very entertaining, not too over the top and it still felt like an intimate dining experience. My husband and I have eaten at many Baltimore restaurants including many Atlas restaurants and this was probably the best meal we’ve had since we moved here 3 years ago. The Salmon and short rib dishes were delicious and the Mac and cheese side was some of the best we’ve had. The service was excellent too!
