a week agoThe room doesn’t have besic features. It misses a desk and any form of clothes hanger. There is no cleaning policy and they charge you if you arrive 30 min before check-in time (4:00 pm) even if the room is free and prepared (words of the receptionist).It might be OK if you are a student (though most students would not spend 270$ a night) but DEFINITELY not if you are on a business trip or plan on staying for more than one day. It is unacceptable for people who want to get some work done and travel from abroad.
I have complained, asked for a desk and for a solution for my clothes, but they said they cannot help.
I also asked to cancel the rest of my stay as I booked it for a week and they told me that I would not be eligible for a refund as I already started my stay.
I am leaving a review hoping to save others from such an uncomfortable experience.
I travel often for work but I never felt the need to make my accomodation experience public as I never encountered many issues with my room, and if I did have any minor request, I would be helped by the staff. This time, I have a responsibility to share. Don’t stay here, it’s not worth it.
a month agoThe room was clean and cozy. Great for a 3 night stay. A little small if we were staying more than 3 nights but we just had a standard room since we were not in it that often. Would stay here again and at other Sonder locations (that have a gym).5 months agoAbsolutely loved staying at this Sonder! This was my first time to the Cambridge/Boston area, and this was the perfect place to stay. It’s a quick and easy walk to the subway, really close (I mean same building) to lots of great restaurants, and a quiet safe neighborhood. The room is clean and thoughtfully designed. Service is amazing—everyone in the lobby was kind and very helpful. The luggage storage was a great bonus. Hope to return again very soon, and will be recommending to all my friends!a month agoIf you know about Sonder hotels this review is not for you. This “hotel” started as a 1 but was a 3 by the time we left. Do NOT go here if you are driving a car.We arrived a bit early in the midst of a storm. You are not allowed (by law!) stop at the hotel entrance. We had to go around the corner and unload in the rain. They also do not have doormen or bellhops, which is usually OK since my wife and I can move our own stuff. Except they did not have a baggage cart. And we travel heavy. We made three trips from car to hotel in the rain. I dropped a pillow on the wet pavement.
Then we had to park two blocks away at $40 a day.
Did I mention they charged us $23 to check in 45 minutes early?
Nonetheless, once we settled in we enjoyed our room: very small but comfortable and surprisingly liveable. And there was a hip party on the roof, in the bar connected to the hotel, and even in some outdoor venue (with a live band). Not my bag, but I am a tourist, so I liked the vibe.
But you cannot call this a four star hotel. A four star hotel has human service. If it was rated a three star or even a two star hotel, I would bump this review up to three or even four stars.
We lucked out and there was somebody at the entrance (in the evening and Sunday no one was there). They were pleasant, but clearly they thought we should have known this was a hotel for those people who are more comfortable online than in person.
a month agoA real gem in the heart of Cambridge! Convenient check-in/out, the app is really useful, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The place is really nice and the room was comfortable, clean, stylish, and felt like home for our week there. The restaurant downstairs and the rooftop bar are both excellent as well!

in the last weekThe rooms are small, the staff service and breakfast fantastic. They also have shared bathrooms sized for one person at a time, but it didn’t present any issues and were always clean. I’d definitely visit again given the chance.2 months agoNice quaint place 5 min away by foot from Harvard. The rooms are clean and simple with all the necessary. Wifi also worked well. Hair dryer and iron are also available at the reception and if you need anything else they can assist you. There is complimentary breakfast and during the day free coffee&cookies in the reception. Since it is a very old (& beautiful) house, keep in mind, that there is no elevator.4 months agoWhat a beautiful place and people, I felt like home in my first visit of Cambridge/Boston. Close to everything. It’s an old building so definitely there are gonna be some sounds from walking and clothing doors but I felt everyone was trying to keep the atmosphere calm with less noises like a family. Even shared bathrooms were so clean, breakfast fresh and nice. Last but not least is their fair price for nights in compare to others. Thank you Irving House for your hospitality.3 months agoDecent sized room but we had to climb a steep and narrow staircase to reach our room on the 3 rd floor. Luckily we didn’t have much luggage to haul up , which would have been impossible to climb with. But the breakfast spread was good . On the expensive side but was in a good location.. We only stayed a night.5 months agoLook past all the negative reviews here who expect a brand new Marriott. This is a charming and (very) old B&B that has served the Harvard community for 100+ years. The place is close to everything on campus, a few mins to a T stop, very friendly and professional people, clean rooms, parking and a great breakfast. We have been regulars here for many years and strongly recommend.

Everything about our stay was nothing short of amazing. Check in was a breeze and friendly. Yodit provided recommendations and provided information on what was in the area. Noah helped when we felt our room was cold. He came right up and continued to make sure we were comfortable. Maria at the bar was very personable and her drinks were amazing!
Room fit our needs and was very clean. Fridge, safe, and full size toiletries.
Overall, home away from home with friendly and caring staff!
Plenty to do in the area and close to highways. Starbucks attached to building and DD in walking distance. Will be back!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The reception, breakfast service, and bar staff were all so lovely. The room is upscale and well appointed. Would definitely stay again!
Very accommodating with luaggages storage when we arrived 8AM on the check-in day. Free coffee and water throughout the day. Friendly, helpful, and courteous hotel staff! Good location with meeting relatives and for sightseeing! Starbucks inside the hotel was a plus! A couple of shopping mall within walking distance.
Rooms were clean and staff were especially friendly. Free lyft to and from Harvard classes was the best! Staff member Yodit went our of her way for me when I lost an item in my room but was still in class when I realized it. Above and beyond
Don’t waste your time or money. This Tapestry collection hotel is just a way to charge more for less. There is nothing nice or unique about this property. The $15 breakfast is gross, a glenfidditch neat is $25 and Hilton continues to hold on to covid ways of requiring guests to “request your room to be cleaned”. Stay at the AC Hotel close by.
