- Reviews:Yesterday was my first time getting a cat and I had no idea where to begin to get supplies for a cat. I ran into an assistant there. Jensen (please forgive me for not asking her last name. I want to keep it confidential incase she was not comfortable giving it away.) was my assistant. I had told her that I was on a tight budget and I had no idea what to get. So, without any hesitation she guided me through the store and had asked me questions to see what I needed and making sure the cat felt right at home. Everything Jensen told me was a big help. The cashier was very patient with me. If you guys need any help with guinea pigs, Jensen’s the one to go to. When I asked the young lady in the fish area for a couple snails. The cleaning of the tanks were put on hold and she very politely helped me. The entire fish area was clean and the fish all looked way better then most other stores. The store price matches but it’s inconvenient to price match so many items. I recommend ordering online and picking up to get the best prices. Also, they have mystery snails and petco did not have any snails. EDIT: ACTUALLY THIS TOP FIN FILTER IS NOT GREAT. I GOT A TIDAL 55 INSTEAD TO REPLACE IT… THAT CLEARED UP MY CLOUDY WATER. He was shiny and calm when i showed up.By Cyn Cyn (2 months ago)Was so excited for the new store but was disappointed when I walked back to where the animals were. They have leopard geckos on sand no hides. Corporate told them either sand or carpet. The sand will cause impaction and the carpet holds in bacteria and the reptiles snag their nails and teeth on it and pulls then out. The parakeets were always chirping and playing at the old store but quiet and sitting on the bottom of the cage. They took their fun playyard away and just put flimsy perches. The perches were too scary for them to go on. I could tell the workers were not happy with the new store. They either do what corporate says or they are fired. Corporate doesn’t care about the animals just making money. If you want a great animal please find a local breeder or go to the nearest reptile animal show. So many people buy from these big corporations and regret it. They get the wrong information and their animal gets sick. They pay big vet bills only to find they were told the wrong set up. Then their reptile dies or they pawn it off to a rescue and never want one again. Please do your research before buying an animal. What they tell you in stores in just wrong. There are many facebook groups out there with excellent information. Stay clear of this location now for reptiles or birds! My experience with the grooming facility has been exceptional due to the very talented, caring and friendly dog groomer, Betty. Betty treats my two German Shepherd dogs with so much love and kindness. She does amazing job making them look beautiful!
I love this place. Prices are high here and there but inflation sucks. I had a problem with one of my dogs not eating and one of the staff suggested a brand that ended up saving his life. It was exactly what he needed and recommend pumpkin for him. Thank you, I will always be partial to this location because of that.
Took my dog, LJ, in for a grooming. The girls in the groomer were super friendly and you could tell they loved their jobs. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my dog with them. They did a great job at cleaning him up and he came out vibrant and happy.
The East Peoria store is nice and the staff are all great. I am an aquarium hobbyist, and the condition of the tanks drives me crazy. Seeing dead fish floating makes me cringe every visit. The selection of products is good across the lines.
Trash not friendly. Made it seem like doing their job was a burden. Selection was bad. Not going back.
