  1. Today was a sad day. I had to drop off a beautiful mother cat and seven kittens that I had had the privilege of caring for two months. Neighbors moved and left her behind. I hope that someone special will adopt this mother or one or two of her kittens. They filled my apartment with so much love and joy. The largest kitten a gray striped one loves to have belly or chin rub and will fall asleep in your arms. The smallest gray striped one is a courageous warrior who will stand up to anything and run after adventure. She loved to follow her mommy cat around and imitate the mother. Three fuzzy little black kittens love to run and chase ping pong balls. The two tortuous ones were very shy and lovable. Here are some pics of the mother and kittens. It would be nice if a mom and kitten would be adopted together. I hope that whomever gets them loves the kitties as much as I did. I hope the kittens bring you as much joy as they brought me and my dog because this place seems empty without them. This Saturday is free pet adoption.. August 17, 2019. The mother is very young… about 9 months old. She loves to talk, catnip, scratch pads, sandwich meat, sleep with her owner, a lap kitty and is strictly an indoor cat. The kittens have never been outside, litter box trained, scratch pad trained, love toys, eats both wet and dry food. Please adopt pets responsibly. Thank you

  2. Our experience was great. Every single person was pretty attentive and so nice from the office staff to the very back. The. Place was clean and adopting was smooth. This place is at its max so people trying to drop off we’re put on a 3-7 day wait list. These people seemed to be doing the best they could. Just from the looks of this, it’s not an easy job and not just anyone would be willing to do it. I know I wouldn’t. I see so many bad comments and all I can think is how I wish people had more compassion.
I definitely agree that they could have more structure. I feel like everyone was all over the place, BUT again I could tell they were doing the best they could. It’s easy to judge from the outside looking in. If YOU feel this place needs improvement why don’t you go volunteer?

  3. I found the staff to be very helpful and caring. The puppy that I am fostering is really sweet and healthy. Thinking about keeping her. A friend said that I should help foster an animal. Best choice I have made. I want to thank the staff for all of their help.

  4. My daughter had been wanting a cat forever, so we decided to get her one for her birthday. After having trouble with a ragdoll cat breeder, leaving my daughter devastated, she decided to go a different route and went on petfinder. There, she fell in love with a tiny kitten at this shelter. The process to meet him was quick and easy. They provide first vaccinations and spay or neuter. We’ve had him for 10 months and he’s the sweetest boy ever! He fit seamlessly into the family. So happy we found him. I would recommend cat adoption from this shelter.

  5. I decided at the start of 2022 that I wanted to have another pouch around. I came across a doggie at Pasadena Animal Shelter from Petfinder and went to see. The staff was great and the facilities were clean (and probably even better after fixup from when the tornado whacked them). The downside was that the dog had tested positive for heartworm…but PAS said that she could be cured of them for an additional $100 over the $25 adoption price which included vaccines and “fixing”. Muttley is a Bosam Terribull (Boston Terrier, American Bulldog)…now HW-negative and perhaps the sweetest and best-natured dog on the planet. Imagine a 50-pound Boston with a long tail and a wide bulldog stance…

After my application was thoroughly vetted by a New Dawn’s staff I asked them to match me up with a dog of certain characteristics that would be appropriate for my home. They chose Molly (Dottie) for us. She is healthy, well adjusted, socialized. Dawn treats all of her rescues as her own. With love, patience and care. And she makes sure that the homes they are placed in do too. If you are not seriously prepared to make a long term commitment of prioritizing the care of a new family member then maybe this isn’t the right time and place. Dottie has changed my life. I’m getting a lot of exercise, my blood pressure is down, I’m breathing better and my other 11 year old dog is acting like a puppy. Some might say we rescued Dottie. I say she rescued us.

We came here in September of 2021 and adopted the perfect dog for our family. Wilma is so full of energy and we love her so much! Thank you Dawn for allowing us to adopt her!

Would say zero stars if I could. Looking for a forever friend should be a happy experience and the ladies here give the exact opposite experience. I can’t believe the way I was talked to at an animal shelter. Bunch of “Karen’s” working at this establishment. Take your money elsewhere if you want to find a dog to love.

I recently adopted a beautiful Siamese mix kitten through Mission For Paws, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience with this organization. The foster mom for my kitten took great care of him while he was in her care. He was vaccinated, flea-free, litter box trained, neutered, microchipped, and completely healthy when I adopted him. A lot of breeders will not go through much that trouble for their cats. They are completely affordable and they actually do care for their rescue cats. The foster mom loves when I send photos of how happy my boy is at his new home. I am extremely thankful I came across such an amazing organization.

We adopted a cat and a kitten recently from Mission for Paws and have had an outstanding experience with them! We have a mom & her kitten & we can tell they were both loved and cared for by their foster mom, Alyssa Gutierrez. Alyssa has also checked in with us to see how the cats are doing and any time we have reached out to her she has been quick to respond and help out with anything we need. Our experience with Alyssa and Mission for Paws has been great and we are thankful for the hard work they do for these pets!

My family have always had kitties in our household. We have been without for a bit and decided it was time to bring some joy back int our home. After searching through Petfinder, we came across some kittens we were interested in. Alyssa with Mission for Paws was awesome! She reached out to us immediately, and although the first kitten we were interested in had been adopted, she was able to set us up with Lark and Mewster Purrs. We were able to have a private meeting at her home where we got to see them in action and we fell in love! So grateful for the fosters and for what you all are doing to give these kitties a loving home!

We had a wonderful experience adopting our 2 kittens with Mission For Paws. We experienced excellent communication from their foster, Robyn, and we could tell that it was important to their organization to place the kitties in a safe and loving home, which is also important to us. I appreciated that they did a vet check to make sure the kitties would be well taken care of. We went in for one kitty but fell in love with two, and we are so thankful to Mission for Paws in helping us bring our new family members home! Highly recommend this rescue if you’re looking to add to your family also!

I originally went to Mission for Paws to adopt a cat I felt I’d be great for. After talking to Kellie, we came to understand that my lifestyle wasn’t a good fit for the kitten. I’m not going to lie, I was a little heart broken. But then Kellie introduced me to Sam. She couldn’t have picked a better match for me! This cat is perfect for me in every way! The crew at Mission for Paws understands the needs of their animals and does what they can do find you a perfect match.
