Samer and Blake were awesome. They did a great job in a tough market. They helped find contractors to get my house ready for sale. There was a lot of work, because we had lived in the house for 15 years (when it was built) and styles had changed. They created an astonishing brochure of my house, they created a wonderful video, and held multiple open houses. They helped me price the house at the market–I started too high. And the buyer paid a fair price for a great house.

My agent Leslie Shafer is a rock star! I worked with her on purchasing my condo seven years ago and then called her again when I wanted to rent out my condo. Leslie is very knowledgeable about all things real estate, renting laws, rights, etc. She was also able to put me in touch with great third-party vendors for painting, fixing items at the house, and other items need for purchasing the home and turning it over to rent. Leslie works around the clock for you and makes everything so easy. She is delightful and gets the job done. I would work with her again in a heartbeat and recommend her for any real estate needs.

My huband and I wanted to move from North Carolina to Virginia and wanted to have a home that was relatively close to Washington DC but not so close that we needed to fight the traffic as well have an inflated price for a smaller home. We also wanted to be relatively close to a major airport and having a place close to Dulles airport seemed to be a reasonable compromise. We contacted several real estate agents from North Carolina and picked one that did have a very high rating. However, working with him for a couple of days I found that he was quite impatient and did not like it when I changed a few of the parameters. So, before things soured a great deal, I decided to quickly end the engagement with them. After waiting for a little bit, I decided to try my luck again with real estate agents in the Maryland/Virginia area. It was perhaps our lucky day when on our second try we found Rob Carter from Compass Real Estate. We described our boundary conditions regarding price, size and location, and Rob listened to us very carefully. Based on our input, he prepared a list of properties for us to visit when we would travel to VA which we did within a week after our first conversation with Rob. During the first day we saw several homes, some of which were reasonable, and some were not. Based on what we saw, I asked Rob to change some of the search criteria which he happily complied with and had some of his valuable suggestions. We did have a concern with airplane noise and Rob was able to find a noise map that he would overlay on the properties that we were interested in and would screen properties based on that map over and above the other established criteria. After going through only a few homes, we were able to come up with a home that we liked. Rob was extremely efficient in working with the sales agent for the builder and going to and fro with the offer and counter offers and within a couple of days we were able to get the deal completed. We have moved many times within the USA, but I would say that this was one of the smoothest home buying experiences that we have ever had. Rob arranged for the home inspection and was there during the inspection, he personally came to the Title company for the settlement. To our surprise, he also came for the final walkthrough with the folks from the builder and was there when we were doing our final walkthrough to check if everything was completed. So thanks to Rob’s efficiency, we were able to get the house that we wanted in VA in less than a month. Generally, home buying is a stressful exercise, but with Rob’s help it was made very easy. Within a few days after we had completed the transaction, we were surprised to receive a gift box from Rob containing some savory cakes and fruits. If sometimes down the road, we need to sell or buy other homes in the area, we will go with Rob. I would strongly recommend anyone contemplating purchasing a property in the VA / MD area, to first reach out to Rob Carter from Compass Real Estate.

Rob sold our property in less than 5 days on the market, over asking price! His contractors were timely and responsive. His evaluation of the market was spot on. He diligently took notes, documenting all of our concerns and resolved each concern. Highly recommend, Rob for your DC real estate needs.

My Partner and I purchased our first home with Rob and the team. We were located outside of the DC area when home-searching and Rob and the whole team could not have been more helpful and accommodating in assisting us with virtual tours, refining our search and finding the perfect home. Even after our purchase was complete, Rob was an invaluable resource checking in on new home items that needed fixing and providing more information when we asked. He has gone above and beyond what I would have considered a Realtor’s job!

Rob was amazing to work with! He was very responsive and always willing to take the extra time to discuss exactly what I wanted. I had him update my search criteria countless times but he always helped me find houses that I would be interested in. When I finally found one that I liked, he guided me through the entire process and made sure to answer any questions I had. Rob helped me buy my first home and I can’t thank him enough for everything that he did. He really is great and definitely cares about his clients. I would highly recommend him and will definitely work with him again when I am ready to move!

My husband and I moved back to the US in late September, contacted Rob in early October, and he and his team had us out of temporary housing and into our first house before Christmas. We didn’t know what to expect, and Rob patiently guided us through the whole process (and has continued to check up on us well after the closing). If you want a real estate agent who knows his stuff and is a pleasure to work with, I can’t recommend Rob enough.

Wonderful and stress-free leasing experience, thanks to Kenn Blagburn. Kenn was the real estate broker for the apartment I leased in February 2023. He was highly communicative, open, helpful, transparent and reliable throughout the entire process. He expressed great care and understood my needs, even giving ideas how to better utilize the space. Kenn has a high level of experience of the area, which showed in his guidance of the entire process of me moving to DC from out of state. He is extremely detail oriented and helped me prioritize what needed to be done to ensure a smooth transition to becoming a new DC resident. Kenn’s good advice made my apartment lease a very pleasant experience. His responsiveness and extensive knowledge not only helped with the logistics of the transaction, but also made me feel comfortable and secure. He is amazing to work with and I really think you would feel the same way. Thank you, DC Real Property and Kenn!

Kenn helped us buy our first home and was a great agent for us. He has an in-depth knowledge of the city and the process. We had some major obstacles through the offer and closing process, and Kenn guided us through and went to bat for us when things got really tough. He’s a great asset to have by your side when the rubber meets the road. Our only part that was less than ideal was there were times where communication was not as regular as we would have liked. Part of this was learning Kenn’s style and preferred means of communicating, but part of this was that a lot of the work he was doing behind the scenes we didn’t know about or didn’t see. This is definitely something to be clear about upfront and set your and his expectations early. Overall he was great, and we would definitely recommend Kenn!

Kenn has been a great real estate agent/broker. He helped sell my first house in DC back in 2015 and the process was FAST and STRESS FREE. Recently, I reconnected with Kenn to help with the sale of my family’s home here in DC and again Kenn went above and beyond to ensure my family was 100% comfortable with the process and answered all of our questions prior to closing. Kenn was very professional and patient throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Kenn, if you are looking to buy or sell in the DMV area. Kenn is the BEST!!!
