in the last weekThis is my rating scale for the quality of the toilet paper in the (men’s) bathroom facilities. I think a lot can be inferred about a business based on the toilet paper they stock in their restrooms. Inadequate is between 2-3 ply, the rest are based on this as a starting point.Sandpaper Inadequate Acceptable Plush Luxury
For this business the TP is rated as: inadequate.
The TP is actually 2-ply. The basic large roll stuff most corporations get. The worst part was the toilet in the single stall. It felt like it wasn’t even attached and wobbled really bad. As of someone had previously tried to steal it, but eventually gave up. And since this is Decatur, I guess that’s completely plausible.
3 weeks agoI am tired of going into this store where they cannot keep staff. People work where conditions and pay are good. Management needs to improve. This is not the only Kroger that has this going on so I believe it’s a corporate issue. They made record profits but can’t keep staff. That says something about top management where the real money lands.3 months agoAlmost made it. 1 star if something…. I can’t remember but overall enjoyed getting food there. I think cleanliness comes to mind. But I’m sitting here thinking I don’t think it was that dirty but I could be wrong.3 months agoBoth good & bad thoughts on this particular location. Good…they offer the best selection of all 3 Decatur Krogers, and Marla, in self checkout, is my favorite employee. She’s always friendly, and super helpful, as is the male who typically works self check. The older woman with the long, dark hair, & a limp? Not so much. She’s been snotty to me on several occasions. Bad.. the parking lot is often a nightmare. It’s just an accident waiting to happen. Especially with the weird drive thru set up of Dunkin Donuts. It’s a chaotic store to visit, especially with the closing of Fairview. Decatur needs more grocery stores! The deli also seems to frequently be ‘out of’ certain menu items, like chicken tenders.3 months agoI do like how you’re completely ignored by the workers.

a week agoIn my opinion, Kroger is the best place to shop for groceries. Lots of sales, coupons, & even a freebie now & then. You get points for shopping there, which turn into money off your gas expenses (up to a dollar off each gallon). They’ve been super helpful with prices in this recession/inflation. Most employees are excellent, and they will always make it right!2 months agoBought 100 pieces of fried chicken from Kroger’s. It’s hard to get 100 pieces of anything done correctly but these guys did a great job. Chicken was some of the best chicken I ever had. Thank you.6 months agoMOST of the employees here are fairly nice, especially the older man who brings in the carts. He is always cheerful, and pleasant. There is one, however, who works self checkout. A Caucasian woman with 2 toned hair that is extremely rude, & needs an attitude adjustment. I’ve witnessed her being obnoxiously rude to several customers who try & do business at the customer service counter, including my husband. No excuse for it. Especially as many times as I’ve been in there, and overheard it. I like that the store is not overly busy during the hours that I tend to shop there, but it’s not my favorite because it is quite small, and cramped. Just a few customers can clutter the traffic flow.3 months agoThe staff are rude. The prices are not competitive. Most items you will pay $.50 to $1.00 more than the same item at Walmart.3 months agoVisit this store on 6/6/23 Gloria in self check out need a attitude adjustment or training on proper customer service. The way she talked to two older gentlemen about having proper idea for alcohol was uncalled for, the gentlemen was not nasty in no type of way but she was very disrespectful and nasty to them.???? I myself would of talked to a manager because this is not the 1st time I’ve witnessed her being rude to customers.

It is polite and respectful to park in the appropriate areas and leave accessible spots for those who may need them. Furthermore, be mindful of others in the parking lot, and drive cautiously and attentively to ensure everyone’s safety.
Once inside the store, customers should adhere to certain guidelines. Cart etiquette is important, so it is crucial to return carts to the designated areas after use. I’m so glad there is a Kroger in Mt Zion. My wife and I both shop here, I think we like it more than Walmart. They are really good discounting products. They have decided to do a large amount of remodeling, and I plan to go back and take more pictures when they are finished. I have added some current photos.
I’ll go miles out of my way to shop this particular store over the others, because both the employees, and the managers have always been extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. I often see the manager on the floor right along with his employees, working hard. I typically find everything I’m looking for, and the ladies in the deli are super hard working and kind. I’ll be honest, I’m not as fond of the fuel center, for the fact that I once had an employee LOUDLY say “Excuse me?!!!” over the intercom, in response to a comment I made about her attitude when I asked her about fuel points, which was totally uncalled for, because SHE came at me with the attitude, so I simply volleyed it back, and not even aggressively. But that’s a different area. The grocery store itself is great.
Nice stores, nice staff. The only thing I don’t understand is why I can’t get small fryers instead of chickens so big they should be called stewing hens. I suspect they are using the fryers to sell as rosterizers in the deli. I also would like to see Prairie Farm milk. It would be nice if customers could have a choice.
Though it’s often a bit more expensive than other stores, the variety and quality of stuff makes up the difference.
You should really train your meat slicer to not pull his pants up while gloved and then handling the customers meat. As well as not overcharging for said meat. Should have been 9.99 lb was charged 13.49 lb. Shame on me for not checking before I left. You bet I will from now on.
