- Reviews:I was very pleased with Black diamond. I had had a different company come four years ago and install the wrong thing that burned up my furnace. Henry from Black diamond came,took his Time,inspected my two furnaces, showed me what was happening, and what I needed.The next day Zack and Gage came to install my new systems. Gage did one side of the house and Zack did the other. Zack made alterations to both systems to make sure that they were working completely efficient. They made sure that I was happy with what they had done. They were extremely respectful. My house and yard was was spotless when they left. They DID NOT cut into my walls!!! They had Logan come from the warehouse to drop off equipment and pick up my dead furnaces. It kept it so they were able to do all the work in one day. I have seldom had such amazing service. The furnaces work great. I am now a devoted loyal customer.By Nancy Whipple (a year ago)Paid WAY too much for a fix that took less than an hour and a part that probably cost them $40-50. I needed the cartridge replaced in our shower handle because the shower wouldn’t turn off. Before calling a plumber, I turned off the household water myself and removed the shower handle all the way to the cartridge, but couldn’t get that out. I called a few companies to find someone who could come same day and that’s how I ended up scheduling Black Diamond Experts. The plumber that came out did come within a couple of hours and he was a nice guy, but they charged me over $600 to replace the cartridge, simply because I couldn’t get the old piece out myself. The plumber started working on it at 1:22pm and had everything replaced and was out the door by 2:09pm. That’s a crazy cost for something that took so little time and the part was not expensive. (The moen cartridge at Standard Plumbing is $53.69.) On the invoice, the line item was simply, “replace single handle shower cartridge” for $615. When initially quoting me the price, the plumber told me it was because it can take him three or more hours to get the cartridge removed. So that felt like I was greatly misled because it took him about ten minutes. That was his reasoning for charging so much for this work. If that’s the case, then you need to charge based on the part and the labor, then you could have charged me for an hour of labor (rounding up) and a basic part. The trade off of working with a large company like this is their pricing is very high as well.By Lauren Elkins (2 months ago)Responded quickly, gave an estimate with a few different options scheduled the work for the next day and got it done. Solid work quality and they double checked with me to make sure everything was how I wanted it. Jon was very thorough and took his time explaining and answering any questions I had during the process. The service managers over at Black Diamond helped along with the process and are very engaged with the technicians. I know this is the most professional service company in the state of Utah. If you need any plumbing HVAC electrical, Black Diamond should be your go to. - Reviews:After receiving several quotes from other places we decided to get one from My Buddy the Plumber, they went through our system like none of the other guys had. They had excellent recommendations about moving our vent to prevent hair build up and expanding the size of both our intakes. Our house is breathing way better than it ever has now. They recommended a quieter furnace and we’re loving it. Korey and Kasey were informative and went above and beyond with the installation and fixing things that our roofers missed, and clearing dog hair out of the intakes. They were pleasant to be around and had no troubles working around the professional cleaners that were working at the same time. Would recommend this company to friends and family. Larry kept us from wasting $700 for a band aid fix on our 18 year old AC unit and instead suggested having Shawn come out and talk about our replacement options. Shawn gave us multiple options and was able to have someone out as soon as two days later. Ryan and Chandler did a amazing job replacing our AC and furnace. Both made sure that everything was done to a T, and that any questions were answered. They did a good job so when I had a job come up for a client, (my usual plumber was 2 weeks out) I decided to give them a chance because they had availability the next day. They showed up, looked at job and quoted me a price that seemed really high. When I asked why it was so high, the tech said that the price reflected what they charge every client for that type of work ($529). I asked for a break down of parts and labor so I could see how many hours they anticipated the job taking and what their hourly labor rate was. They would not give me that information per “company policy”! They were, however, willing to sell me an annual maintenance contract that would reduce their quote. As a property manager in the Park City area, I deal with many subcontractors and I have never had someone try this con with me! Needless to say, I sent them away. I waited for my normal plumbing company. 45 minutes labor, $50 in parts plus their trip charge and I paid $267. Almost half of what My Buddy wanted to charge! I will never use them again.By John Beesley (7 months ago)Please be careful with using My Buddy for Air Conditioning Maintenance. The technician (Holland) they sent for routine maintenance arrived with my AC unit working, then ended up breaking wires in our unit, then re-wired the system incorrectly, then asserted that the air fan was now broken, and then left us with a broken AC unit, as a new motor would not be available for one week! I was very upset, and I called a different company to inspect my AC unit. That new, very competent, technician wrote the below. “I found the air conditioner inoperable. Customer advised he has been in the heat for several days because the last tech left his equipment inoperable and left. The owner had some concerns the system had been damaged by a previous company. The owner advised the equipment was running when the previous company arrived and not when they left. I found several screws littered across the walkway. These screws were not replaced into the refrigerant panel and the side of the air conditioner. The capacitor was the wrong size, and the capacitor was not wired correctly. The refrigerant ports did not have caps. I found oil present and the liquid line schrader port leaking.” The new technician from the other company fixed the many problems created by Holland from My Buddy. I will be calling My Buddy today to explain the situation, including presenting them with the bill for repairing my AC unit by the other company, given the damage that My Buddy caused to my unit. UPDATE: The manager Vance was supposed to come out to meet with me on August 15th but did not show up. I still cannot explain why the liquid line schrader port was left leaking by Holland, thus evaporating the refrigerant. UPDATE #2: after posting this review, I got a call to have Vance come out, and he showed up this time. We had a good discussion about what happened, and I ended up settling with MyBuddy covering half the cost of the repair. Although the AC unit was working with no problems prior to Holland from MyBuddy touching it, the unit is 16 years old, so I acknowledge that the unit might have been developing problems, despite being given a clear bill of health one year ago during maintenance also by MyBuddy. So, My Buddy did come out and make reparations for what happened, as the fan motor broke again a few days after the first repair by the other company and then had to be replaced, along with the other things already described. Given this, I changed my star rating from a one to three stars. We have used MyBuddy for plumbing needs in the past, with excellent, albeit very expensive, service. Given that I am not an expert in plumbing or HVAC, it is very difficult to judge whether what we paid for the plumbing repairs was over-priced or not, so I recommend getting second opinions anyway on any work needing to be performed.By Gholson Lyon (8 months ago)

David was my Tech, he was very friendly and knowledgeable with all of my problems and more. He fixed the floor drain that other plumbers said couldn’t be fixed and needed to be totally redone. He installed a new water heater with expansion chamber thing. Everything looks so clean and professional. He fixed the shower handle insides, looks and works perfect. He also replaced my toilets insides, no more running water.
After everything was done he showed me what he did and explained it all, also should me how to work my new water heater.
I’m so happy I went with SameDay, they are so professional and I have peace of mind know with the floor drain being fixed.
