These guys were not my cheapest price but being in the construction industry I’m aware that often times you get what you pay for. In the end I feel like I got a excellent deal because of the professional service I received. If I ever need anything done at home I can’t repair myself I’m calling them for sure. After talking to RJ I had a lot of confidence in them as a company. I feel very tricked by this company! We recently had an outdoor pipe burst during the winter freeze. I called several plumbing services, and JD was the most responsive and could send a technician out within a week. I was informed ahead of time that there would be a $175 trip charge and a portion of that could be applied to the service performed if we chose to go with this company for our repair. I also had lined up 2 other services to come the following day, but planned to use JD for the repairs since they were coming out a day sooner. Our technician was lovely and very patient, but immediately tried to sell us a membership for $500(ish) and gave us an estimate of $1200 for our repair which was very straightforward (straightforward enough that our second plumber just recommended buying a part on amazon and screwing it on ourselves…). I am by no means a plumbing expert, but it was very obvious that they were taking advantage of me. I decided to decline the service and paid the $175 trip charge. The following day, we got 2 free estimates and ended up going with a plumbing company who charged us $200 for the repair (took about 5 minutes) and even offered a service guarantee, so if that pipe bursts again, they will fix it free of charge. Both plumbers were surprised and confused by the Invoice/estimate given by JD plumbing, which verified my suspicion that JD was significantly overcharging us. It is crazy to think I paid JD the same amount of money in a trip charge to do literally nothing. The other 2 companies I’d recommend instead: Milton Frank and New Tex plumbing. Milton charged $48 for a trip free/diagnostic fee, and New Tex did not charge a trip fee at all.By Jane Geyer (4 months ago)I contacted JD Precision Plumbing on a Saturday evening with an emergency repair and they were able to send a tech out right away. Vincent arrived promptly. He was very courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He repaired the leaking valve, provided a quote on another non-emergency repair, and also gave us some useful information. The removal of old dishwasher and install of new dishwasher. Zack and his assistant (I believe Brian) were very knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the service I received. Josh did a great job installing the new disposal ( it was very expensive). He was courteous and efficient. The only problem was that he did not give us the model and serial numbers on the disposer so that I could send in the warranty to the manufacturer. After four phone calls to the company I was told the numbers were only on the unit itself. Since I have a home warranty, I need to go through their system and use one of their contracted plumbers to do the repair which Joel said was more than likely behind the shower wall which will probably be a great expense so it is more cost effective for me to use my home warranty insurance. I do appreciate Joel’s efforts and time and sincerely wish JD Precision Plumbing was a listed plumbing contractor for Choice Home Warranty so I could continue with your service but I am limited to their contractors.
