1. This is long, but I promise it will help you make the decision to reserve your space!

   Let’s be real: two of the biggest challenges in finding a place to stay are cleanliness and price. Another is sometimes location—to have a more affordable price, you’re sometimes not close to where you want/need to be or you’re where you want to be, but you feel the need to sleep on top of the bed instead of beneath the covers.

   Sunset Inn knocks ALL of these out of the park!

   Location: literally minutes from Punta Gorda, just across the bridge. Couple of quick turns off 41 and you’re there. I’m directionally challenged even WITH GPS and it was SO easy to find. It’s quiet—-not what you’d expect when staying in a hotel/motel, but this place? Quiet!! No loud traffic all hours, no loud hotel guests up and down the halls. Peaceful and quiet. Across the street is a pier you can walk on and the sunrises/sunsets are truly beautiful. Nice walking path if early morning walks are your thing.

   Exterior: freshly updated buildings painted a nice dark color with doors that are an adorable pink color; landscaping is on point with palm trees and other greenery that gives off anything BUT “motel” vibes. There’s great little patio spaces in front of each unit and between the buildings with chairs to enjoy your morning coffee. My ONLY wish is a bit more lighting in the parking area (I was traveling alone and while my brain is always in overdrive, it’s more so when alone, in a strange place at night). Each unit has an exterior light so if you turn that on when leaving, you will have a decent amount of light when you return.

   Interior: clean is an understatement! My unit (#2) was immaculate! As in I could walk around barefoot and not feel like my feet were gross! The kitchenette area was stocked with a Keurig and K-cups, coffee mugs and dishes/cookware. Full size garbage can/bags and full-size fridge. Bedroom had an incredibly comfortable bed with soft, white bedding that was literally the perfect weight so you aren’t cold or hot and the pillows were also fantastic. New dresser should you wish to unpack and a decent closet if you need to hang up that party dress or business suit or stash your work boots at the end of a long day. Bathroom is very tiny, but let’s face it—we don’t hang out there while on vacation. Shower is decent sized with plenty of hot water and space for your razor and shower necessities. Towels (in closet off living area) are soft and clean! Living area is a great size with a comfy couch and big screen smart tv for winding down your evening. There’s also a desk/table in this area for you to work at if you need to. My only hang up was the door opens out—don’t know why this freaked me out, but it did (overactive brain!). Keyless entry with a simple code to enter and a deadbolt on inside for added security. Decor is perfect—bright pops of color give it a happy vibe. In the mornings, pop open the plantation style shutters and the beautiful Florida sunshine pours in.

   Property Manager: Brandon was FANTASTIC! Quick replies to emails with questions and you’re also provided with contact numbers should you need anything.

   Places like this are a gem—with so many mammoth hotels charging $300+/night, it can (as I said) be a challenge to find something clean and affordable, yet not a basic/bare bones home away from home for however long you will be there. The owner clearly knows what goes into making the spaces welcoming and fun, aesthetically pleasing inside and out and how to pick a property manager.

   Please, if you stay here, take care of it. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us!

   To the owner: please keep doing what you do. Buy more properties and keep this up! Such a refreshing break from the giant chains with outrageous prices.

2. The Sunset Inn was perfect for our week long trip. It was conveniently located right off the main road but nestled into a quiet spot directly across from the Peace River. The property itself is well landscaped and very clean/well-cared for. The units , although small, were perfect for our needs. The kitchenette had a full size refrigerator, a small 4 burner stove with oven, microwave, toaster, & coffee maker. The small couch was extremely comfortable, as was the queen-size bed. The TV was great! I wish I had one like that at home. Outside, every unit had it’s own set of Adirondack chairs on a private patio space. Best of all, there were 2 large size washers and dryers available at no charge for you to use. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone who asks.

3. We loved the nostalgia of the motel. Everything is updated and very clean! The park and Bay across the street were a great surprise and even better location for lunch and a walk. The rooms were a little cramped but meets all of our needs. We will definitely stay again!

5. Our stay at the Sunset Inn was amazing!! What an adorable place and they did such a nice job updating it. Unit 4 was super cozy and cute. The bed was really comfy. It was nice to have so many amenities available to use. And there’s a pier and the water is right across the street. A perfect place to walk your fur babies!! Brandon was informative and prompt at answering any questions we had. We will definitely be back!!
