What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This was a last minute anniversary getaway for me and my husband, and we really enjoyed ourselves! The room was comfortable (hummingbird) and the claw foot tub was so beautiful. Every little detail in this gorgeous Victorian was thought out and restored with love. Holly, the owner, was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Daniel was an easy conversationalist and down to earth, and made us feel comfortable. My FAVORITE part though, was the five course breakfast! WOW. It was incredible. The flavors of every dish were amazing and fresh. The photo I added is of the fresh apple nachos we were served for our second course. Fresh mint from their garden- I mean come on! Yum. The main course was incredible. It was so good that I’ve sworn off staying anywhere else in the city if I’m able to stay here and enjoy a breakfast like that! It’s included in your rate. Also for coffee people like us, their coffee is the best I’ve had in a long time! They use reverse osmosis to make for a purer taste- every detail! The location is also great- there’s a jazz club just down the street, and Allentown is down the same street too. You should definitely book with Harmony House rather than a run of the mill hotel. The prices are comparable (maybe even cheaper!), but you get an experience here you will remember and will be supporting a family! Thank you Holly and Daniel for a lovely stay!

  2. So happy we found this place to stay rather than a typical hotel as we were doing a long drive and stopped in Buffalo for a night. We will be back. Beautifully restored old home with real character. We had the Cardinal room, which had a lot of space – bedroom, separate area with a desk and a large bathroom. We went to dinner a block away at The Billy Club and had a downtown Philadelphia quality dinner. The breakfast included with the room was great (no hotel buffet, thank goodness!). We will be back.

  3. We loved our stay at the Buffalo Harmony House! Our room was very clean and comfortable. We also can’t stop talking about the fantastic breakfasts we had! Breakfast featured multiple courses every day, including lots of fresh ingredients straight from the garden and delicious local coffee. It was truly phenomenal. Moreover, the owners were very friendly and gave us helpful recommendations about things to do around town. We would 100% stay here again.

  4. Holly and Dan were great! Our stay was wonderful! The room (the sparrow) was beautiful as well as the rest of the renovated house! The jetted tub was nice, but too small to fit 2 people comfortably. Loved the renovated basement with the dart board, pool table, and mini bar! The breakfast was wicked good and cooked with a lot of love! They accommodated for my diet restrictions which I really appreciated! Will definitely be back!!!

  5. We spent a lovely night at Harmony House. The house is beautiful, lovingly restored and furnished with well finished, mostly Victorian furniture that suits the house. We stayed in the Cardinal room, which had a small separate seating and desk area. The plumbing and electric have all been modernized but the ambience is very historic. The three plus course breakfast was amazing, featuring homemade and even homegrown delicious food, made with the same care that the owners have lavished on the house and rooms. And the owners were very accommodating in serving us breakfast at an early hour so we could make our morning engagements. The neighborhood is quiet but interesting, with good restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended.

An amazing set up, spacious rooms and a very friendly host. The breakfast was left to the host and he surprised us with a stuffed French toast, garnished with blueberries and strawberries. As it’s a 130 years old house, it comes with all good and not so perfect features. Great overall impression. Recommended

Sometimes you just get lucky! After googling away I settled on staying at Parkside House. Photos do not tell the full story – it is beautifully decorated and well located. And the bed was comfortable – just what you need after travelling for 26 hours! But moreover, the hosts are so friendly very helpful (particularly when I had two sets of logistical issues). I look forward to my return visit!

While we only got to stay one night we felt very at home here. We already started planning our Western NY trip and will be staying here again for a few days. Chris was the best host!

My wife and I stayed at The Parkside House for our honeymoon and can’t say enough about how wonderful it was! Located on a beautiful street in the equally gorgeous Parkside neighborhood, the Parkside House immediately catches your eye. The house is beautifully lit at night, maintained perfectly and is supremely welcoming…before you even get inside!

Once you enter, you can appreciate the age and beauty of the home, with a lovely sitting area, piano and breakfast room. Our suite, the Woodward Room, was stunning! A beautiful wood-framed bed, classy seating area and great artwork help to make you feel like you’re not just staying at a hotel, but really getting a special experience.

Chris and Jose went above and beyond to accommodate us on our stay and were the dictionary definition of “welcoming.” We enjoyed all our conversations and got some great recommendations for things to do during our visit. Our favorite memory might just be Chris’ exquisite breakfasts! Truly some of the most delectable food I’ve ever eaten for breakfast; it made every morning so much better!

Lastly, it’s remarkable to walk out the front door of your B&B and arrive at the world-famous Darwin Martin House only a block and a half away! We really enjoyed the 2-hour tour and felt like we were taking advantage of the great location. We highly recommend it!

The Parkside is a very pleasant walk to the Martin House by Frank Lloyd Wright (our reason for visiting Buffalo). The house and host are great. The breakfast and hospitality are 5 stars +. We highly recommend The Parkside House B&B. Chris, Thanks for making our weekend so great!

Lived there for 9 months. Hospitality is great from Linda who runs the place! Very friendly and is there to help in anything you need! Try it no matter how long you are staying! Linda will pick you up at airport or train station and bring you there and if need be give you a ride back! There is also 3 bus routes going through the area of Moreland Guesthouse! Very convenient!

Great cozy place, building could use a little TLC, but has many amenities like the room tv on the wall, community kitchen, bathroom, and lounge. Linda is a fabulous host and was very accommodating when my 2 Hr layover at the Chicago airport turned into a 4 Hr layover! My only big complaint is the owner also gossips too much. For someone such as myself who was considering moving to the area, I don’t feel comfortable moving there anymore because whatever she told people in the area got people talking about me as I walked around the neighborhood. Some people can dish it out but can’t take it. I’ll never go there again myself.

Great place. Really cool. I booked ahead of time but arrived super late without warning. Totally my fault but Linda was really nice about it and had the room ready in no time.

Only reason it’s not five stars was that the dog can be loud when guests move around at night which is annoying but other than that it’s great.
