1. I never had such a negative experience in Nordstrom. There is a clear sign at the entrance door and in the store stating that if I download their app-get $5off. In from of the cashier and later store manager Ronda I did that and then they declined to give me $5 off as some banner on the app didn’t show up – no explanation no nothing. I never had the Nordstrom app before (during covid, I was in Europe, and I just came back, so I didn’t have the app). I will communicate this to Nordstrom.as well. If something is advertised, they have to honor it.

2. It’s okay at best. Though their shelves are always stocked, the items tend to be dated. Some appear to have been doing “warehouse duty” for some time before being shipped to the store. That’s kind of sketchy when it comes to beauty products, which they sell. There are no specific “bargains” areas, which used to be their shoes (both men and women), fragrance, men’s accessories, and women’s handbags. Customer service is low level. Each time I’ve visited the store, there’s barely any personnel working, and the few that are working projected low employee morale. Of course, given the state of retail employment in today business environment, that’s not really surprising.

3. I have the best shopping experience in this location on Mar 14th. I found a white bottom down shirt that I like but there was a ball pen ink on the collar. I asked the cashier lady if they could get me a new one, so she called another young lady from the changing room to help me look for it. Sadly there was none. So I asked the young lady if they knew how to get rid of the stain. I love the shirt so much that I will buy it even though there was a stain. She went to the tailor and helped me remove the stain! I was so happy to see how many steps they are willing to go further for a client. Keep it up Nordstrom racks!

4. Better selection than Gaithersburg location. Unfortunately, it’s not as well stocked with designer clothing and shoes as it used to be. They do have lots of high end denim in many sizes to choose from.

5. I enjoy the deals every few months but gotta give a warning here: on my last two trips to this store, after checking out I got out of the store and down the block only to look in the bag and notice an item I had paid for was missing. I went back to the cashier and they handed over what was missing, but gave no apology or explanation or anything. And they certainly weren’t chasing me down to give it to me. Very strange and it was the same cashier both times, months apart. I only know this because they were a memorable looking cashier and we had chatted for a while about their side business. It was especially odd that it happened with her on two trips in a row. My strong advice: check your bag then and there at checkout.
