- Reviews:I moved here after living in Japan for 4 years, and Tsunami’s sushi hits the spot 🔥. The quality of fish is fresh and rice is decent. The combo of flavors and specialty rolls are great. They have a good variety of non sushi items + gluten free options too. Only con I would say is that it can be pricey. But sometimes you need to pay up for freshness and quality. I’ve had several poor sushi experiences in Utah and Tsunami isn’t one of them. Go and enjoy! I loved the Vegas roll and would highly recommend it. We got the California roll and it was good but I would not get it again. Great service. They had some decorations as you can see in some of the pictures. The service was good. We ordered the Ayam Bakar gluten free. When we got it home, we figured out that gluten free meant we didn’t get any dark sweet soy sauce mentioned in the description. Without the sauce, some of the chicken tasted a little dry. The single order portion was generous enough to feed the two of us. The menu has a lot to offer. So take my one item order for what it’s worth- just one item. We were at the restaurant, because we don’t like our food delivered. Anyway, I need to eat gluten free and a menu posted on Google reviews had gluten free options. We ordered the Ayam Bakar, which is chicken cooked with a dark sweet soy sauce. We were told at first that it couldn’t be made gluten free, then was told it could. It was tender and well-cooked, but flavor was missing. No soy sauce flavor. Probably because their soy sauce had gluten. I wish I had been told this, I would have ordered something else! Worst location. Have given them multiple tries but they keep failing. The last four times they’ve been out of beef and made our order wrong. Ordered veggie this time, like always, only this time the bowl is only half full with some carrots and one piece of zucchini. The mandoo was over cooked and they didn’t give us the sauce for it. The kids were playing on their phones as I walked in. I stood at the counter waiting to order by cash only to be told to just use the kiosk and that they wouldn’t help. They could care less about customer service and just proceeded to talk about tattoos instead of help anyone in the store. The place was filthy. Garbage cans overflowing so bad that people started putting their garbage on the floor.
Updated lower rating: Went at 7:05pm on a Saturday night and the doors were locked. Their hours of operation are clearly stated on the door that they are open until 9pm. There was nothing posted with an explanation, but people were inside eating and waiting for food.
95% of the time they do a great job on accuracy of my order. They now have a kiosk to order.
The overall experience was fine, but just fine. Floors were very sticky (you could feel it and hear everybody’s sticky steps as they walked), lobby was cold, and the wait was pretty long.
Well I’ve been to this location before and it was so yummy.
However this time it was extremely disappointing and slow.. the kids working there sat around staring at us while a couple in front of us struggled with the kiosk ordering and a long line was forming behind us… all while the two kids watched. Finally a different girl came out and took our order.
Then all the kiosk orders went thru before ours even though we ordered before them.
Finally the same girl started making ours.
Unfortunately it was all wrong when we got home.
Not only that but the was a hard plastic piece in my 5 yr olds kids bop. ( pictures) I’m just so thankful he didn’t try to swallow it. Definitely would have been a choking hazard.
Always love the food here. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a whirl. The noodles and sauces are delicious. Staff at this location seem really friendly as well. The lobby is large and plenty of seating. Lots of windows. The potstickers are really really good.
