What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. This was my first time here. I’ve always didn’t pay, but never stopped until this past weekend. Best decision ever. Exceptionally clean beach, not over crowded, and perfectly safe swim area for toddlers and younger kids. First time I’ve been to the beach and I didn’t have to worry about my kids, and was able to thoroughly enjoy myself. There is also a playground, a small bar with a stage for love bands, good clean restrooms and showers, picnic tables and tiki covers.

  2. Great park! They have a sandy beach with very few waves and current. It’s great for smaller kids. There are many covered picnic tables throughout, as well as restrooms, showers, and all the seagulls you’d like to feed. It is $10 for the day or $40 for an annual pass. No dogs allowed.

  3. The location of Rockport Beach Park is simply stunning. Nestled along the Texas Gulf Coast, the park boasts breathtaking views of the sparkling waters, sandy beaches, and coastal landscapes. The scenic vistas provide a sense of tranquility and serve as a perfect backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The park itself is exceptionally well-maintained, showcasing the efforts of the dedicated staff. The sandy shores are clean, inviting, and ideal for sunbathing or leisurely strolls. The lush vegetation, including palm trees and native plants, adds to the park’s charm and creates a tropical ambiance. The facilities, such as picnic areas, restrooms, and parking, are all kept in excellent condition, ensuring convenience for visitors.

  4. A beautiful beach with a playground for children, ideal for spending a good weekend. In general, the beach is clean. We love coming to rockport.

  5. Yes yes yes!!!
It was our first trip to this beach and it was lovely. Very clean and great for families. We didn’t explore the entire grounds but there were portable restrooms available for use. To my surprise they were fairly clean.

Thrifty Traveler’s Guide: Exploring Texas on a Budget

Traveling to Texas on a budget is possible with some careful planning and smart choices. Here are some tips to help you stay on a budget while traveling to Texas:

  1. Flexible Travel Dates: If possible, be flexible with your travel dates. Airfare and accommodation prices can vary significantly depending on the time of year and day of the week.
  2. Affordable Accommodation: Look for budget-friendly accommodation options such as hostels, motels, or budget hotels. Consider staying in less touristy areas or suburbs, where prices tend to be lower.
  3. Public Transportation: Utilize public transportation or rideshare services instead of renting a car. Many Texas cities have efficient public transit systems that can save you money on transportation costs.
  4. Free and Low-Cost Attractions: Texas offers numerous free and low-cost attractions, such as parks, museums with free admission days, hiking trails, and city tours. Take advantage of these to explore the state without breaking the bank.
  5. Local Eateries: Skip expensive restaurants and opt for local eateries, food trucks, or markets that offer affordable and delicious meals. Trying local cuisine can be a fun and budget-friendly way to experience Texas culture.
  6. Pack Snacks and Water: Carry snacks and refillable water bottles to avoid overpriced food and drinks at tourist spots.
  7. Discounts and Coupons: Look for discounts and coupons on attractions, activities, and restaurants. Many websites and apps offer deals for travelers.
  8. Free Events and Festivals: Check out local event listings for free festivals, concerts, and cultural events happening during your visit.
  9. Budget Airlines: If you’re flying to Texas, consider budget airlines that offer lower fares. Just be mindful of extra fees for baggage and other add-ons.
  10. Group Discounts: If you’re traveling with friends or family, inquire about group discounts for attractions and activities.
  11. Stay with Friends or Family: If you have friends or family in Texas, consider staying with them to save on accommodation costs.
  12. Avoid Peak Tourist Season: Traveling during the off-peak season can lead to lower prices for accommodation and activities.
  13. Cook Your Own Meals: If you have access to a kitchen, consider preparing some of your meals, which can be more cost-effective than eating out for every meal.

By implementing these budget travel tips, you can enjoy your trip to Texas without overspending and make the most of your time exploring the state’s diverse attractions and natural beauty.

Saw this on TV and wanted to go. My wife brought me here for my birthday and I’m glad she did. Beautiful sunny day. The fishing pier was all rebuilt and nice to walk out on. They have great rates for camp sites so we’re already planning another trip.$5 per person was a good deal.

Quiet and peaceful, great fishing in the morning and evening at the pier. The best baits to use are shrimp and crab. The park is clean and maintained well. We just left there and are already planning to go back next month. This park is dog friendly, and restrooms and shower rooms are clean as well

Beautiful home with a wonderful view of the gulf. The house today is having new carpet placed so it actually was open but rooms without the furniture. The two ladies watching the house and offering a tour as it is were a delight. Friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. Enjoyed their information they shared. We enjoyed the home as it was today. Might one day return to see it furnished. The basement is a must to see.

Make sure to check out the museum located where you buy tickets to get the full story of the Fultons! Super interesting and filled with history, many of which surprised me such as how the Fultons-Smiths would ship their refrigerated cattle meat as far as England. The mansion it self was gorgeous, and the woman inside was so helpful and kind. My favorite is the details to the wood which is original.

My husband and I are on vacation in Rockport, visiting from Austin. We were looking for something to do since the weather had turned a little cooler. We decided to go check out this place. It was very interesting. The mansion is beautiful! We both enjoyed looking at everything. The lady working there is very sweet and had a lot to tell us about the history the house. We recommend going by to take a look around.
