  I have been going to Stephen Gregory for a while. I enjoy going here quite a bit. Always a good cut, a wash, and some styling help. The last time I went Stella did a thorough and superb job. The stylists are all great, but be sure to ask for her if you haven’t been before!

  I made my husband an appointment after work with Shad based solely on reviews and customer photos. I had my fingers crossed and hoped this appointment would go well enough for him to ditch the chain salons that had burnt him with rude stylists and increasingly bad haircuts….. And let me tell you Shad came through in a big way!! My husband looks so so good. Super clean lines, no odd spots, definitely his best haircut yet – we both agree. His hair was lightly styled, his shirt was clipping free and he smelled so good – not to mention his beaming smile everytime he’d catch himself in the mirror. Plus he couldn’t stop talking about how great the experience was, how genuine and knowledgeable Shad was and how nice the lady behind the counter at the time was as well. Overall, we’re both glad I stumbled upon this place and will continue to book his appointments with Shad going forward.

  Rolled into Birmingham late on a Friday night. Looked for a well reviewed barber shop that did beard trims. Called them when they opened at 9 and they asked if I could be in at 10. No problem. AJ was my stylist. She was so thorough and did an excellent job on my hair and beard. Well pampered with hot towels and straight razor finish. I’ve never felt so well groomed. Thanks again!

  New to the area and my son and I visited for the first time today.
  When making our appointment I assumed we would be booked for the same barber but when I got my reminder text I realized we were booked for two different barbers.
  We want to find our Home-go-to Barber. Not bounce around to whom ever is not booked so I changed that so we could use the same person to see if it was a good fit.
  Both my son and I agreed, this was not a good fit for either of us. Neither of us are happy with our cut. (See picture of sons cut) We ask for a 2 guard with a fade/blend with a hard part. We are use to a hard part being done with a straight razor. This hard part was done with a trimmer. The hard part was done about an inch higher than the part was when we came in and then the location made it difficult for the blend on the short side. After his cut I asked for my top to be left alone and just clean up the sides. The potential of this location is there but as a complete stranger and our first time to visit I am disappointed in the Welcoming we received. Two ladies working the front desk gave off the vibe they could care less if we were there or not.
  The overall experience was less than my review grade but I would like to think I caught them on an off day.
  Certainly a lot of room for improvements with the whole experience.

  Super relaxed and comfortable setting. Very pleased with my haircut. They do walk ins but are busy so I’d recommend making an apt if you can.

  The place pretty nice. I think people who work there the receptionist is okay. For hair I think that they’re pretty good. But for beards don’t go! If you have a beard and you want a certain design or some look. that requires somebody who actually knows beards and not one any person that does not have a beard there. The person who trimmed my beard and shaped it up kinda” was very pleasant but keep on making excuses that my beard was course. Lol sorry beards always start off to be course. A straight edge razor in the right hands it’s like perfection for beards. I don’t mind paying money for good quality but wow over fifty bucks for Beard cut that even isn’t nowhere near as good as doing it myself plus it’s not even…. even. Lol

  Recently moved to the Birmingham area and have been looking for a new barbershop. Single Barrel came up on quick Google search and looked awesome so I tried to book, and quickly found out just how good they were based on their reviews and booked out calendar. Joey Folker was my barber, and did an amazing job getting my beard shaped up and doing a super clean fade (best I’ve had in years). Shop is super nice, good vibes, and had great conversation during the process. Will be back for sure 👍

  My husband went in here and said it was wonderful. He was very happy with The atmosphere and the guys and the whole place in general. I think his haircut was very feminine though. He is too nice to go back and ask him to fix little things here and there which I understand and in all honesty I wasn’t there.

  Asked for a zero/bald fade with a 5 on top. Left with a 1 fade a 5 on top and a line where the fade should have been. If you can’t do the cut just say so or send it to the next barber who can perform it with quality. Felt rushed. Great vibe only wish the cuts mirrored that.

  Great haircut, friendly staff. Luis was quick but thorough and I’m quite happy after awhile of looking for around. Clean shop in a nice area. It was cash or check only. They have an ATM there or I was invited to leave and come back if I preferred to go to my bank. Appreciate the simple gesture of trust that demonstrates.

  You could do better.

  I went for a full haircut and beard shaping.

  The atmosphere is nice and I was started quickly. The haircut was fine as well, no complaints. But the beard was done poorly. I could have saved my money here. Neckline to high. Patches of hair left here and there, no smooth shave, etc etc. I could have done better for free.

  Also the barber (Joey) seemed in a rush. I was done after 35min although appointment/package is 60min. Maybe the salon double books?
