  Had a recent haircut with Jacqline C. and she did a fantastic job. I recently moved out here from Texas, and I had some rough experiences with the cookie cutter shops so I decided to try out Platinum. The ambiance is laid back lounge-y, the owner seemed friendly, and booking online was easy. Jacqline was thankfully meticulous about her craft and was able to get me the mid-top fade I was so previously accustomed to. She was also super friendly and passed along some great food recs. It’s knowingly a bit more pricey than regular shops, but you definitely get what you pay for with the folks here.

  My brother (not black) went there for just a fade and they denied him service. They humiliated him but putting a comb through his hair taking him to the middle of the room and saying to everyone he just bent my comb because it’s so tangly. He probably doesn’t comb, wash, and put to much product in his hair. My brother was told to go home wash and brush his hair and come back so he can cut it. We drove an hour to come to this place. This is so disappointing. They wouldn’t just put a comb through a black persons hair and tell them to go home because it too tangly. DONT COME HERE IF YOU ARE NOT BLACK

Not only do they provide top notch services, but it’s a neat little shop, and the staff is incredibly friendly and personable. And you can’t beat their prices.   Well I gave them a try. Stopped in yesterday and they don’t really do any walk ins. Ok, so I used their app to schedule a tour and went to my appointment. Well, first I went and got cash because they don’t use technology for payment just appointments. Got there and they said I didn’t have an appointment and didn’t offer any solutions other than it was my fault since I didn’t do their app right, so I think they probably don’t need any more business. They may give good cuts but I’ll never know.

  I’ve been going to Paramount practically since it opened, and I dig the vibe and atmosphere. I’ve been getting cuts from my barber, Paul, for a bit longer. I’ve only ever been to Paul, whom I highly recommend.

  Over the years, I’ve heard people complain. (When did getting your haircut become fancy? You don’t serve walk-ins?) But for every complaint, I’ve also seen the staff accommodate unique situations. Yes, it’s not always great that I have to schedule an appointment 2 months in advance and stay on top of it. Yes, it kind of stinks that it’s cash only. But this ain’t Sport Clips. A hair cut will be more than $15. However, I have only ever gotten compliments on my haircut since going to Paramount. There is a level of craftsmanship that isn’t at a big chain.

  Admittedly, men can feel intimidated finding a place to get their hair cut because it’s often low on the priority list. I didn’t know how to describe a haircut I wanted when I first saw Paul. But if you ask and try your best to communicate what you think you want, they will work to understand. They’ll even tell you how to describe it to others barbers if you decide to go elsewhere!

  I love getting a slick style and cut here. I say weird things, and I’m still allowed back. My barber is great, and always able to work with the styles I want.
  Cash only, cuts take around an hour (meter parking), and you can have a beverage from their mini fridge. Ooh hoo hoo, I can’t resist free things. There’s also sports things on their TV’s, but alas, nothing is perfect 😉
