This is such a beautiful library. There is so much and such varied spaces. It is immediately evident that it is a safe and welcoming space for all. The artwork all over the building is something special to behold.

Had a great experience except for when i was reporting to ic3.gov that i got hit in the head with an UFO, and some other things. It looks like I wasn’t in a safe enough space to be reporting that or i didn’t feel comfortable.. Had some issues with their browsers too, but it still works and that’s what matters. Good place to check out a laptop and get a job.

Spacious, fun, and welcoming. Wish the Manga & Graphics meet-ups welcomed adults 😂. Staff is great about helping when needed.

Greatest public library that is not a REAL public library! It’s a private company paid by the city to save money, but it makes things better because they really care, unlike most city employees every were…. it’s like a private country club that makes it’s own rules, example is the mask mandate 🤔 Jetport NO mask vs Library YES 🤪

I’ve been to many libraries and have had library cards at several. This is by far one of the best ones in Maine. The librarians are incredible and kind. Lithgow has always been a very inclusive and comfortable space. We’ve always gotten help when we needed it. The children’s room and teen rooms are both great spaces for those age groups. The kids book section is extensive. The teen book collection is always growing. In the adult area, there are so many different types of books to choose from. Good sized manga/graphic novel selection located out near the computers on the 3rd floor. The library hosts so many different groups and activities for all ages. The stacks are always neat and well organized. Librarians do a wonderful job of putting out themed displays according to holidays, special occasions, and things going on in the world. Many many movies to borrow from kid section and adult section. Video games can now be borrowed from the teen section. Beautiful building that is a mixture of the classic architecture and necessary modern amenities. The expansion was much needed and I’m glad it finally happened. The reading room on the 2nd floor has the perfect quiet ambiance mixed with beautiful art. Just about any magazine you can think of is available here, as well as newspapers. Computers are set up in a way that provides privacy to the user. Printing is .20 per page. Meeting rooms are available for groups or just a couple of people. If you’re looking for a new space to relax and learn, this is what you’ve been looking for.

Beautiful library with great historic quiet rooms to work, lightning fast internet, places to talk quietly on the phone on the upper floor.

Rude staff…there was a bunch of 40 year olds playing a loud Pokemon tournament and was interputing people reading. Asked for them to be quiet and no one seemed to care so asked the staff if next time they could have them go in one of the rooms. Was told it’s not a designtated quiet area….but today spoke with a normal voice and was asked to use my indoor voice 😒 if you’re gonna let people be loud and rude don’t expect other people to be quiet. Especially when your staff are always so loud.

My son and I, visit the Lewiston Public Library once a week. They have a great staff and they have a whole floor for the children. They do have different individual room for meetings or studies. They also have free internet. They also have free books or with very low cost. Their website is very easy to navigate, and you can renew your books by using your contact information. You can return your book any time, by using the outside window.

Their computers are too slow for facebook, they need an upgrade. Lots of good books for research, and lots of events for people. Used to bring my laptop down there and chill out playing league of legends.

So refreshing to be able to use the public library once again after thr unpleasantness that was 2020! They do currently have limited hours, though, so be sure to check their website before going there just to be sure. All in all, a wonderful and well stocked library with consistently helpful staff.

Keep your eye out for parking spaces on Park Street as that’s the area without parking meters. Pine Street has closer spots but most of them are not free.

The library’s greatest resource is its staff. From the circulation desk to the children’s department on the top floor, they provide lots of help and do their best to answer questions.

If Lewiston Public Library doesn’t have a title, readers can request books from other lending libraries online. It’s a great option people can use.

This is a wonderful library! Even though I am just traveling through the area, the staff was very helpful and welcoming. The facility is beautiful and has everything anyone could need – books, dvds, computers, and a wonderful children’s section.
