What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Went last Saturday to look at adopting a dog. Staff was super helpful, and knowledgeable. Help us pick out right dog for us and family. If I need another or family member needs I am sending them there.

  2. We loved the cat and kitten community rooms where cats get the chance to roam around, play and socialize with each other. We also appreciated the honesty and transparency with which the staff explained how the animals might best fit in (or not!) with our family. ❤️

  3. What a beautiful experience! This organization truly cares about animals and the fur parents. Yasmin and the staff were so sweet, she answered all my questions and addressed the care needed for my adorable new kitten. My new fur baby is a purrfect fit for my home with her new big brother. ❤️

  4. Amazing staff and Care givers here. Pretty easy to see they care about the animals new homes and deny these sketchy low rated reviewers. Bravo SVAS!!!

  5. If I could give less then 1 star I would, today after going down there to adopt 2 kittens and after being with the kittens and having them up on my lap purring for love and attention I was told that I wouldn’t be able to take them home because they didn’t think it was a good match. So rather than giving these 2 cats a new loving home they would rather keep them at their shelter. If you actually want to bring home a pet I would highly recommend you not go to this location, they will let you play and pet the animals but will end up interrogating you and not letting you take the animals you fall in love with home.

R.I.P to an awesome dog. Where is the humane in the humane society. I think they give up on animals way too easy. I thought this was a no kill shelter. Rex is/was an amazing and trainable dog. To euthanize him is so wrong. He would have made the right family happy. He deserved more effort and training and time put into him, just like many other animals. The humane society should at least contact the people who fostered the animal to ask if they would want them before killing them. Rex was very misunderstood but he was a big baby who just needed someone to give him their time and commitment and love. R.I.P to Rex and also to all the other animals who have been murdered by the humane society. Some animals would have been better off just staying strays and running into the right loving human instead of the humane society. Rex deserved better. Even the day I took Rex back to the humane society I had a bad feeling about it. I knew they didn’t care for him like he deserved. Yes Rex had some anxiety problems and he was destructive but those were behaviors that could have been worked with. He just needed time instead of being given up on. And that’s what it is, This place gives up on animals too easy. Just don’t call yourselves the humane society. Rex’s memory will forever live on and I’ll never forget the time I got to spend with such a good dog! There is no reason good enough for putting down/killing Rex. That is very cruel. Poor baby I wish I could of been there for him more.

I donated dog toys, treats and food when I had to surrender my dogs. The staff is kind and helpful. The puppy was adopted in a month. The 3 year old dog had some much needed dental work, which I was completely unaware of. They take care of their medical, dental and emotional needs too. They have sponsors and resources to get animals adopted or fostered, so I’m confident in their care.

WARNING!!!! Rude staff and techs!!!!!!!!! If you are, literally, 1 minute late for your appointment, then you may have to wait 2 hours for your pet to get checked in. This place is NOT accommodating and understanding. Take your pet some where else where there are people you can trust with your pet, especially a surgical procedure. I’m so glad that I decided to leave and to take my pup somewhere else. The staff are the type of people that might accidentally kill my dog and end up blaming it on me. (This is the type of staff you are dealing with at this location)

I brought my cat in for end of life services 2 weeks ago and paid to get her cremated alone so I can have only her ashes. She was not separated from other pets and I didn’t get her ashes!! Absolutely horrible. Not only was I grieving because my cat had to be put down due to a cancer in her mouth, but to then find out she wasn’t even going to come home like she should have was devastating. They issued a refund, but nothing will ever fix what damage was done because of this. I just wanted my baby to come home. Never bringing a pet to this company again.

My experience with the humane society where I adopted my kitten, Mushu, was nothing short of devastating. They administered two dog vaccines to her when she was just a fragile kitten, which had severe consequences on her health. When I reached out to inquire about the health status of Mushu’s mother, who was unfortunately put to sleep upon arrival, the humane society offered zero assistance or support. I pleaded and cried for help as my poor kitten underwent six months of grueling testing, visits to internal medicine veterinarians, and exhausting exploration of four different treatment options, even venturing to a different state. All I wanted was for Mushu to survive, but the fight proved to be too much, and she tragically passed away. The lack of support and care from the humane society is deeply disheartening. I didn’t ask for financial aid; I simply wanted information about Mushu’s mother and her littermates, as she had four of them. Not everyone would have been willing to invest $10,000+ in a kitten, but Mushu was special to me, and I would have done anything to save her. The reckless administration of the dog vaccines cost Mushu her life, and I sincerely hope that whoever was responsible realizes the immense pain they have caused not only to me but also to all of Mushu’s feline siblings. The humane society demonstrated an alarming lack of compassion and failed to fulfill their duty to care for the animals entrusted to them. In light of this heartbreaking experience, I strongly caution others against relying on the humane society for their pets’ welfare.

I can’t say enough about fallen feathers. I found a baby bird that a larger bird was beating up. I couldn’t leave it cause I knew the other bird would have killed it. While driving home all I could think about is what the heck do I do with a baby bird. A friend recommended fallen feathers and they met me at the door and accepted the baby in no problem

I have taken several birds in need there. I have never had an issue, the drop off is most accommodating, just wish there was a way to followup.

I have use them three times now for birds that have fallen out of one of my large trees. Just recently they came out to rescue a large owl. They truly care about these birds and their well-being, as well as the well-being of other birds that could be affected by the ones that have had to be rescued due to disease.
