What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Walmart is often having items with great price. If you look carefully, great items are in clearance with unbeatable price.

This location has McDonald inside as well.

  2. 1067 North side Walmart is clean, organized, plenty of friendly staff. They always greet me with a smile. They will even offer to get me a cart when I come in to buy one thing, and next thing you know, my arms are full..

  3. It’s a Walmart. Service was usually fast. See updates for more information on the tale of this mediocre establishment.

Staff is still generally nice, at least.

Update: They’ve removed several cash registers in favour of self checkout. Slows the whole operation down for anyone who doesn’t want a camera shoved in their face and to be accused of stealing by a machine twice and a doorman once. What’s so hard about just making a small bank of these machines rather than 12/18 (See update 3, now down to 4 of the original 18 checkstands, favouring self checkout options which are slower, don’t allow for proper distancing and are generally attended to be one very overworked employee) registers being converted?

Also, the produce is laughable at times. Or it comes wrapped in plastic for a single bell pepper. (Update 1.1: They seem to have ditched this act of stupidity at least.)

Update 2: Was told they check all bags at the door, despite several customers ahead and behind me going through and the next customer checked was -also- a person of colour. Racism doesn’t sell, folks. (Update 2.1: They seem to have stopped this for the most part and returned the greeter to their duties of greeting rather than tasking them with dubious Loss Prevention tasks.)

Update 3: Been a minute since I went here, (now Nov 2021) there’s now turnstile-style gates on the store, makes going for a coffee at McDonald’s much more awkward. Also made going from one of their (only 4 remaining now, down from six, making checkout at busy times take 10+ minutes in my experience) checkout stands to the self checkout area after their insistence that it would be faster incredibly awkward because everything is all cloistered off.

Update 4: The saga of this Walmart becoming progressively more awful continues! December 2021, they had 20+ customers shoved between the four checkouts. No room for distancing, despite legal requirements. Reported to Public Health, who said they’d look into it. Glad I only need to visit about once a month.

Update 5: They’re back at the racial profiling, had issue with me rolling a cartload of stuff out, receipt in hand, and stopped the African man ahead of me and ignored the white woman behind us. Disgusting to do that.

Update 6: Layout is looking awfully dystopian now. Between the gated entry (what if there’s a fire?), the 20+ cameras at a checkout you have to operate yourself, and the loss prevention guys in plain clothes to stalk customers who look a little too dark, I’d say it’s bad enough to just shop somewhere else if at all possible.

  4. Today, Sunday April 30th at approximately 9:55pm I walked into Walmart to purchase ONE (1) package of cold slaw. I know they closed in 5 minutes and wanted to quickly grab one and either pay via self checkout or a cashier ; as I had both payment options available. Upon entering the store I was greeted my a very friendly elderly man who said welcome to me and my girlfriend. He also greeted the 2 persons who were maybe 2 feet away in walking distance; as they entered roughly a few seconds before us. My girlfriend and I were already through both entrance doors and about to enter the ‘main entrance gates’ when a lady, we assume to be the manager rudely and abruptly approached us. She sped over and said “the store is closed!” , my girlfriend responded saying “the store closes at 10 , we have a few minutes before you do.” I looked at my phone and saw that it was now 9:57pm so I said “it’s 9:57pm and I only came for a package of cold slaw”. Listen… I’ve never felt soo disgusted, disrespected and upset !!! The lady was soo unmoved and uncaring regarding what I had said. She goes then again to say that their closed and the store closed at 10pm. My girlfriend brought to her attention that there was another couple that walked in seconds before us, we were actually still watching them walk in the produce section. My girlfriend called her a racist, as we’re both black-Caribbean. She then produced a fake flabbergasted facial expression and said “oh wow , really?” And walked away. My girlfriend was still upset and was asking why would you even approach us? What was the difference between the couple that walked in less than 10 seconds before us!? It’s soo upsetting because now we have many frustratingly unanswered questions; Why not tell your worker at the door to not allow anyone else in? What did you think we were coming into your store 5 minutes before closing to do? Why after I said that I was only purchasing a package of cold slaw was I not able to? Why when called a racist did you not apologize and correct it? I am NEVER shopping at this Walmart location again. My girlfriend legit spends hundreds between your location and the regent for work; NEVER AGAIN ! And when friends and family members visit I’ll tell them the same! It was ugly, bitter and hateful! And of course she felt nothing was wrong with what she did; but that does not make it right! I don’t require an apology but I will be letting the world know of my experience via this review and social media .

  5. My favourite WalMart in the City, organized and the associates are pleasant. My only complaint is that there are no dressing rooms. I’ve been told that there is too much theft going on so the manager got rid of the dressing rooms. So if the customers want to try clothes on they have to buy what they want to try on and take them home and bring what you don’t want back. That isn’t very practical. I wish the Manager could come up with a solution other than punishing their customers. Disappointed!

Good places for all you need shopping. The access to the Regent Mall is now opened. McDonal inside is also open for dine-in. Many times, I find great deals here. They are not advertised. So, it is more like a scavenger hunts. The stuffs are very helpful. Parking spots are very tight. It has been more than 4 times for me that someone bumps their doors on your car and just ran away. Or I found someone had pushed the cart through between the cars and left long straight marks from the tail light to the front door. If The space between the car is a bit wider, it will help fixing the problem. Now, I park as far from other as I can to save myself a headache.

I hate complaining but when you purchase a defective item that was released 3 months ago and don’t have a receipt and its coming up not on file they will do nothing for you. I understand in certain circumstances but for 25$ as a student every bit helps. Even a store credit or an exchange would of sufficed. Not impressed and they didn’t even try to look up the receipt in systems. Moral of the story do not shop here unless you keep every copy of your receipt.

I never write reviews however I had such bad service with online grocery pickup then later online customer service. I waited an hour and a half for my grocery pickup after arriving and calling I was there. Then after contacting online customer service was just told my concerns will be forwarded. I didn’t expect much but after waiting that long for groceries I was expecting something. I will take my business elsewhere.

We are fairly new to NB, but from what I can tell so far…. this is one of the Hottest Spots in Fredericton!! LOL!! Even though it’s always so busy -because it’s a wonderful place to shop with great Staff, merchandise, selection and prices- I always leave there with a very warm feeling in my heart. This is a Prime example of lots of people getting along, working together as a team to accomplish one common goal, kindness and patience. It’s always so nice to see and hear people running into each other and stopping their shopping to take a few minutes to just catch up! Your Staff is an absolute delight!! I’ve lost count of how many times an Employee has dropped what they are in the middle of doing to go the extra mile and really help me out…..and with a smile on their face. Thank you so much!!!

Absolutely garbage. This store has done more to disenfranchise their customers than improve our shopping experience. First, they create confusion with bags, second, you install entry carousels and having greeters act like costco Employees. Clearly Walmart has drifted from their roots and decided to incumbrance shoppers with their failed costco-like model. Say goodbye to customers.
