What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Curbside or store pickup is supposed to be a convenience, but this store made it absolutely impossible. Did a curbside check-in waited for 15 minutes with no contact. Walked in the store and was told to drive to the other end of the store under the awning to wait for my item to be brought out. Another 15 minutes went by with no contact. Finally a nice cashier asked me if I had been helped and I told her what was going on. She went and got the large item all by herself but could not find the smaller item I bought. After she did some research she found that it was down at the customer service desk where the first gentleman told me to drive to the other end of the store. So I had to walk back down, get my item from him and then walked back to my vehicle to finally leave. What an experience! So much for it saving time.

  2. Tried to make a first time purchase on a new tax exempt status. Asked what I had to do to make sure I was able to use the exemption and was told at the service desk just present it at the register. Selected the items to purchase, went to the register and the girl was unable to enter the exemption (she did try several ways) then referred me back to the service desk. Multiple employees standing around chatting, had to wait to be acknowledged that I was even there. Asked again how to get the exemption to work and was told I would have to do it on line. Very disappointing that I had driven 30 minutes to their store only to be sent home to go on line to get the exemption activated. Placed the items on the counter and walked out the store. My wife even said she thought Home Depot had better service than that and she commented on all the employees standing around and had to wait. She had no interest in returning to the store and I agree with her. I’ll go to Lowe’s where I can buy the items I need, which is five minutes from my house and customer service is much better. Employees are not just standing around and customer service actually helps you. Thought we would try Home Depot, but now sorry I wasted the time trying.

  3. Always a helpful place with nice staff willing to help Stores usually pretty clean have a big selection tools and hardware. pro service staff is nice also plus their open Saturday pro service at lowest is not

  4. We shopped the garden side and there was only one cashier over there on Mother’s day. Her line was as long as one of the garden aisles. She was so pleasant and actually the other lady working on that side was extremely friendly. Both deserve a raise

  5. Arrived 30 minutes before scheduled delivery of John Deere lawnmowers. Stood at back door for 15 minutes before someone came to the door. He told me the door was locked and needed a manager to open it. 5 minutes go by and he comes back and says the manager isn’t receiving nothing until 7am. Whatever. I drive a truck for a living and I’m old school. Early is on time and on time is late. That’s the problem with today’s generation. Too lazy to have a little ambition to go above and beyond. So I’ll wait for 30 minutes and watch them shlep along with this delivery. 7 lawnmowers. By the time I get permission to back into a dock they could have had these mowers unloaded. But I guess sitting around getting paid by the hour and milking the clock is more important than a good work ethic. Yeah, this is the future of our country. God help us all.

This place really needs an attitude adjustment from their management to their staff, people hang up on you, they get annoyed with you when you ask too many questions, they take forever to give you your money back on refunds. We keep hearing that Staffing is the problem for a lot of stores which we understand is true but maybe if companies would pay their staff a little better they would stick around longer and not be so annoyed when customers need help. We understand not all people are on the same scale when it comes to pay with their levels of knowledge but those who do have a better understanding of products customer base and who have climbed the ladder should be rewarded in some way in a company. Home Depot may need to go back to basics.

I came to Home Depot needing paint supplies but having no idea what I was doing. Deb was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who needs help with paint supplies! Thanks again Ms. Deb! 🙂

Home Depots staff is always available, informative and ready to help. The store is industrial like and some locations allow supervised pets.

Great for Harry the home owner, but not for actual home builders. I gave the Ranson store my home lumber package. They gave a good price on the quote and that was the only good thing they did. They had problems with every delivery, reschedule of every one. Some of my deliveries had multiple reschedules because they didn’t have enough drivers. I finally had to start canceling the remaining orders because I was just having to go pickup everything myself. This was not an issue from my side. I gave them plenty of time to get it delivered but they are just not set up for actual home builders like 84, Carter, Builders First Source is. I likely own the most building lots in Jefferson and Berkeley counties, second only to Dan Ryan so you would think they would at least try to have a good business relationship with me but that is just not the case. I’ll still go there for the small homeowner things but that’s it. I highly recommend that you do the same. If I help even one person with this post save time and energy I’ll be happy.

Store employee wearing a mask and had a big goatee sticking out. When someone walks up and asks for help-please try to do so. Muttering under your breath and waving your hand-then walking away from a DEAF person no less-not cool. Acted like we were bothering him to ask what aisle something was in.
