April 2022. I re-discovered Food Lion, 1.4 blocks north, thanks to this location, which has to be the most picked over, skeleton staffed Walmart in the world. In my opinion, things have not improved since last year. However, business has picked up due to more tourists visiting Myrtle Beach these days. As a result, the empty shelves problem is worse than ever. (See my pictures.) I can only imagine how much revenue they are losing. Today, hot dogs, chips, Lender’s bagels, frozen potatoes, ice cream, boxed foods-mac n cheese, dairy like sour cream, and more staples were non-existent. Yesterday there were practically no frozen fries and TaterTots. Today, i did see Walmart brand Tots–where are the national brands? Outdated, wilted produce still mixed in with newer dated. I will say the Pharmacy staff here is fantastic–the highlight and why I still frequent this barren market. One improvement, and this is rare, is that two cashiers were working two registers today. This location could be a cash cow for the Walmart brand. Regrettably, it seems to be orphaned and neglected.

September 2021. I had hoped this Walmart would improve off-season; shopped here for three years. (The only highlight is the pharmacy staff; they are great!) Regrettably, the rest of this Walmart is understaffed and under-trained. I never buy more than a few things here as the self checkout area is awkward and packed. Shelves run low on basics like cut-fruit and veggies, bacon, hot dogs, eggs, meats, sliced cheese, and butter. Last visit, there were no carts inside store and they were hard to find outside; had to go grab one from a departing customer. Check expiration dates on fresh produce, bagged salad, meats and dairy–outdated mixed with newer. In the fresh packaged sausage section, the sausages were all gray so I question their refrigeration. Check out is all self check-out. The main area self checkout with multiple stations is cluttered, tightly enclosed, and always crowded. If there were a fire, this area is a safety hazard. Sometimes they keep the roomier self checkout lanes with the belts closed. Why? Beer and wine seem pricier than other Walmarts…gouging tourists? Finally, they questioned my returns in the past as if I was trying to scam them…major brand of bread molded over within 2 days, bag of red onions stinking rotten inside, discovered same day. They should be apologizing instead. Corporate needs to get help ASAP for this Walmart.

What’s funny is the first time I walk in and made it to self checkout(because there’s never anyone actually working the register) the women had the audacity to touch my produce. After I put a code in she claimed it was wrong and took it out and scanned it. Also I have had to void many salads from this location. My phone has been non-existent for 3 days and I went to the western union to grab funds that a family member has sent me. 150 dollars. They refused to follow the transaction with a security question even though western let’s you send up to 299 to someone without an identification. Next morning at 6am-628am I had a 50 in my hands and in a matter of 2 minutes it had fully disappeared. I even came back a few hours later for convinence and they told me they will not look at the tapes the manager and security were both present but not active. Then security waited outside. Isn’t that fun

An okay location, everything is very clean, and it’s a good location especially considering it’s in a tourist area. However, they need to clean the front up. There’s a lot of shady people hanging around the store and management just lets it happen. They even come into the store and employees are forced to deal with them (if they choose to address it), while management turns an eye. This is not a “neighborhood” Walmart if your customers can’t feel safe while shopping.

I had a quick in and out trip, had to go while we were on vacation. A good place if your running a little tight on your budget. We like getting a place where we can cook instead of paying $100 for the family to go to a buffet. That money definately goes a little further in here a good two or three days of meals, depending on what you get. I like eating seafood while we’re at the beach, especially being at the beach. Having a big bowl of ice cream on the balcony in the evening listening to the waves and feeling that ocean breeze. And the gas station they have is a plus.

Nice little Walmart with some freshly made food options. We came here for some frozen food and alcohol. We are easily able to get both. The beer selection is not the greatest, they had some craft beer but not much options to buy single cans. Frozen food selection was much better, they had a good amount of vegetarian options to chose from. 90% of the store is food related, so its not like most Walmart’s.

Notice the milk was leaking; if people can’t step on any thing they should move things forward or restock the shelves; someone put bag of grapes in a strange spot; there is no cashiers: you would have to to give the items you don’t want and they also have to void on their gadgets. Would land as 1 long line and not sure how long they might take on self checkout. Wanted to go to a different location I hadn’t been to be for.

Good selection.. decent prices. A little expensive though… i shop here because its close to my apartment. Service could be better. Theres only an option to checkout where YOU have to bag all your stuff, and lile 6 employees standing around in the checkout area.. they COULD help, but dont.

    To the store manager.
    You lost a large sale!
I am a 60 year old man who buys trading cards (baseball & Pokémon) and I was not aloud to look at your inventory on the shelf.
I understand kids stealing the cards but come on an old man.

Maybe this is why I don’t shop at Walmart!

Place is great, was extremely busy while we were there. But the staff managed the lines well and were very courteous. The prices are the same as any Walmart store that sells groceries. Store was clean and well stocked.

Wicked lame today! I live close by and am frequently shopping here.. usually it’s got pretty much everything I need,. Especially the necessities.. today, it was pretty much out of over 50% of the items I had on my list 😖 not even one gallon, half gallon, not ANY WHOLE MILK whatsoever! And that was just the beginning of my stressful shopping trip!

First visit here, had everything well stocked plus had everything we came for and not a bunch of junk cluttering up the aisles so you could easily roll right through without having to wait. You have to check yourself out but that was super easy and I get it as it seems nobody wants to work nowadays anyway. We had to ask the clerk for assistance once but he was on the ball and took care of it right away.

I really wish they had a few actual checkout people. Self-check only. The poor older gentleman next to me was having a tough time checking out, and I’m also a senior with physical limitations. The store is neat, and produce is good, but other stores are cheaper on a lot of things these days. Neighborhood Markets also have limited varieties.

This is my usual spot for groceries but lately the produce section is definitely lacking. It’s either not there at all or what is there looks as if it’s been there for some time. Today we went else where for produce. They still have everything else I needed so we got those items because they still had the best deals on those items and made an extra stop for produce.
