a week agoMy stay at the Guest House was amazing. The design and details of the space were thoughtful and beautifully executed, the shower was incredible, and the location was close to downtown. The honor bar was also very well stocked which feels like an amenity so many hotels have dispensed with and I loved having it. I’d stay here again and again!4 weeks agoMissed my flight and needed last minute accommodations. I saw the photos and 4.8 stars and booked it quickly. I was absolutely blown away when I walked in the front door. The decor was so cute and everything was so clean! I felt very safe in my room/ the house which is important to a solo female traveler. The tiny Danish ghosts made me squeal with joy. I bought two of them in my room. There isn’t anyone physically there, so you can call or text their number and they respond immediately. This is an introvert’s dream place to stay. Since I love their style so much I’ve already looked into buying similar pieces for my house. Once I settled, I enjoyed a lovely LaCroix while looking around the house/back patio. After that, I walked around downtown then took a lime scooter back and had a blast. The food hall around the corner has an amazing selection of diversity food. Super glad I took time to find a non chain hotel because it made all the difference. I come to the area for work from time to time so I will definitely come back and stay again!!in the last weekThis is an absolute gem of a place! Comfortable, cozy, and quiet. It is like a home away from home. They even had the same noise machine I use in my own home. Highly recommend it for the cleanliness and spaciousness of each room. I would stay here again and again.a month agoWe thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at The Guest House. Our room was incredibly comfortable, from the platform bed and linen sheets, to the rain attachment in the shower, to all of the other little thoughtful touches throughout the house and kitchen. It was too hot at the time or we’d have definitely spent time in the sweet backyard area. If you stay here, be sure to visit Benchwarmers Bagels, just a 3-minute walk away in the Transfer Food Hall (there were plenty of other yummy food places there that weren’t open at the time!). If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be staying at The Guest House! Thanks for everything:)2 months agoWhat a beautiful boutique hotel. While the hotel is clean and simple, the attention to detail is incredible providing a luxurious experience. There was thought into every thing the hotel offered. To the flow of the space, the decor, the lighting, the bedding, the products, everything was done with intention. We had an incredible stay and loved the turnkey approach. It was clean, well stocked and a pure delight to stay there. Highly recommend to anyone coming through Raleigh or even a staycation for those who live there! Thank you for a memorable stay.

3 years agoWe enjoyed our stay here greatly. The owners were super responsive, very friendly, and the house was just as nice as they were. We loved the back fire pit area and the little candies they left on the beds. It was the sweetest touch. We’d definitely go back.a year agoThe deck was amazing to sit and sip your coffee. The owner, Jenn, wanted to have exterminator come over unsupervised while we were not there. We said we were uncomfortable with that and concerned over allergies with chemicals asking if we could just pack up and be reimbursed the last night. Jenn agreed to that. It was inconvenient to find a place for our family last minute. Jenn never reimbursed us or replied to my polite texts messages asking for updates several days later. After finally making a phone connection, she told me she does not do refunds. Super disappointed in the character of this owner to lie to us.3 years agoWe had an amazing stay! It was a perfect place for a group stay and was extremely relaxing and spacious. Jenni & John responded quickly and were very helpful. I recommend staying here next time one is planning a trip!

We booked a stay at The Store for a getaway weekend. We wanted a different feel opposed to boring hotel rooms and overpriced airbnbs. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with our stay. John was a wonderful host, excellent communication, and top tier recommendations. The location of the house is perfect walking distance to numerous restaurants and bars. We stayed for 3 nights in the room with the detached bathroom. John has thought of every little thing that could make the stay more welcoming and enjoyable. Can’t say enough positives. Stop your search and book here, you won’t regret it!

Host and architect John Reese has created a remarkable luxury home that is so well designed and comfortable that you will regret having to leave at the end of your stay. John is a super host, who knows all the places to find interesting experiences and great cuisine. Raleigh has many charms that could otherwise elude. We look forward to returning.
As usual a great stay at The Store, John does a great job making you feel welcome and history lesson is always educational. The attention to detail and architecture of the home is amazing. Easy to walk to whatever you want.
Recently spent three nights in Raleigh in order to take a professional licensure exam and wanted to find someplace that would be comfortable and less-depressing than a garden-issue Ramada or similar. I also wanted to be within walking distance of places to eat and drink so that I could enjoy a cocktail and not worry about driving afterward.
I am SO glad I stayed at the Store. John gave me a very warm welcome and a detailed orientation, then let me have all the quiet downtime I needed in the midst of a multi-day examination. My room was lovely, the bathroom was great, I found delicious meals (in part thanks to John’s guidance), and enjoyed walking to and from dinner at night and jogging through the neighborhoods around the Store.
If you’d like someplace that’s not sterile and corporate, and that allows you to explore Raleigh at a great price, I would strongly recommend the Store. Very glad I stayed there.
The host is cordial and thorough. We initially arrived pretty late in the evening (he was aware we would be) and he took the time out of his evening plans to welcome us in person and walk us through the place and give us local food suggestions. He is friendly without being over-friendly/intrusive which I appreciated. He lives on premises which was never issue during our stay. We tried 2 of his food recommendations and they were both spot on. The place is clean, mid century modern vibes and cosy. Close to downtown also. 10/10 and this is the place we’ll be staying at anytime we come to Raleigh and will probably gate-keep!
