What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I have been taking my dog Molly to the grooming salon here for 6 years. The young man that used to do her nails is no longer there.Brittney has been taking care of her the past few months. She is amazing and very patient with my baby. She does a great job on her nails and baths her perfectly. I love bringing her here. Thank you for the great customer service and for taking such good care of Molly.

  2. My favorite petsmart in the hampton roads. The cashiers and pet care team are always friendly and willing to help. They do get busy alot so sometimes theres a wait.

  3. Very friendly employees, but highly overpriced products. I found a dewormer 60% the price it was in this store. The draw of a store like this might be the super cute animals you get to interact with. They were great!

  4. We have attempted to bring our dog, Sophie, to the grooming salon three times for her to be turned away. We have tried to do the express service since she is a 7 month old puppy, but they have refused to try and get her used to the grooming process. She has now become severely matted because she hasn’t had a cut and it’s all thanks to Petsmart for refusing service which we will now have to take our dog to the vet to be sedated and shaved. I understand the policy of protecting the pet from injury, but this would not have happened if some time and consideration was given to my pet the first time. PETCO had no issues grooming my dog, so the fact that Petsmart has refused service to us on multiple occasions shows they do not care about their animals. We will not be returning, even though they are only 5 minutes away. Convenience is not worth it when you have screwed us over and we are trying to make sure our pet is well taken care of. I will say thank you to the groomer on duty this morning who gave me a recommendation for a mobile grooming salon as we will try that, but it’s obvious that Petsmart doesn’t care or want the business or take the time to make sure a dog is well accustomed to the salon.

  5. Good stock of fish supplies – most of the fish seemed really well cared for and in decent sized tanks. I can tell the associate who worked in the aquarium area really knows her stuff. She made sure I had the correct and appropriate setup prior to getting the fish/snails for my tank. She was really kind! However, the Bettas need work. They all looked really ill and a few were dead. Please do better, it’s really not a good look to go into a pet store and see dead pets (fish or otherwise!). It’s animal neglect and it’s ugly to see. So for that I’m dropping 2 stars. You can do better.

We went in looking for a new fur baby and that is just what we found. The staff was happy to help in any way. Although you could tell the were busy and maybe a little understaffed in some sections they did not let that stop them from giving each person an experience. The wait time was a little long when I came to pick up my new cat, but they allowed me to play with him and get him ready to go home with me. They even gave us lots of coupons for care-a-lot, ziplock bag of dry food and 2 cans or wet food to get us started and must I say our new fur baby is great. It is always an awesome feeling to rescue a new pet.

I have contacted im sure over 20 times with no response. It’s like they keep the phones unplugged. Many of the workers here are rude and come off as Karen’s, disregarding the younger employers.grumpy faces and never smiling. Anyway, that did not stop me and my daughter from adopting our first baby kitten originally named Tilly. We were told she had 30 days of pet insurance along with other things but never received the information and contacting by phone is nearly impossible. Not everyone resides in Norfolk, nor do we want to have to drive to the location because the establishment does not answer calls = not convenient at all. Had it be an actual emergency where information is needed these people are out of reach. Now I see why I was advised to not utilize this location. Still waiting for a response so if an administrator is reviewing emails, I hope you consider the reviews that have been left and also contact regarding our newly adopted kitten. Thanks.

There was a snarky young worker who proceeded to tell us all the red tape we had to go through to adopt a pet, which is crazy! It’s easier to get into grad school than it is to adopt from the Norfolk ASPCA.There was another woman who wanted the same dog I did, who lied , saying the dog had a surgery for a broken leg. The lady at the front desk was rude, barking, “don’t stick your fingers in the cages! ” as we were walking through the front door. it was just her tone, you know. It was an overall very, very bad experience. So much so, that I left without a dog. After all the red tape, it’s close to $250 to adopt a pet. The Virginia Beach ASPCA was much better. So if I do decide decide to adopt from them, hopefully it will be that location. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one is because of how well the animals seemed to cared for.

Took my pet Smokey. Ladies today were very professional. Vet came out to see my dog, took him back for shot & bloodwork. I was in and out quickly.

I recently had a fantastic experience with the Chesapeake Humane Society when I took my dog Apollo to be neutered. The whole process was very smooth, and I was extremely impressed with the level of care and attention that he received. The staff at the Chesapeake Humane Society were very friendly and welcoming. They provided me with all the necessary information about the procedure and what to expect, which put my mind at ease. They were also very thorough in their examination of my dog, ensuring that he was healthy and ready for the surgery. The cost of the procedure was very reasonable, and I was impressed with the value for money. I felt like I was getting a high-quality service at a fraction of the cost of other places. The surgery itself went very smoothly, and Apollo was well taken care of throughout the whole process. The staff provided me with all the necessary information on how to care for him after the surgery, which was very helpful. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the level of care and attention that my dog received at the Chesapeake Humane Society. They provided a high-quality service at a great value, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and professional veterinary service. Thank you, Chesapeake Humane Society, for taking such great care of my dog Apollo!

I recently had 4 cats fixed here and everything was superb!! They really cared for my animals. 3 spays and 1 neuter. The incisions are healing without an issue. They even called the next morning to check in on them! I only had to wait 2 weeks for an appt, which is short compared to everything else around! I feel relief not having 3 cats in heat every couple of weeks and keeping them separated from the male!! Thank you!!! I will be making an appt for my doggo next!

I was able to get my 7yr old bully in for an emergency surgery. She had pyometra (pretty severe)and she was declining fast. They got her in and did a wonderful job! They basically saved her life today!!! I am extremely grateful ????. They are very caring and all of the staff seem to be great! I would highly recommend!!! The wait may be a little long but it is totally worth it and not to mention, at a fraction of the cost I would have paid at an.emergency vet or a primary . Thank you so very much

I’ll admit, my dog is my pride and joy, but when my regular vet quoted a price of 700-900 for a simple neuter, my jaw dropped. A surgery I know as a prior vet tech to take only a few minutes. I was nervous and skeptical to take him to the Humane Society for a much more affordable neuter. I pictured a horrendous event in my own mind due to the desensitization of sheer number of procedures.Neutering also was not my choice due to it’s negative impacts on a dogs extended health, longevity, and systemic impacts. But since every puppy care and dog sport facility forces it for their own convenience, I knew I had no choice. But honestly, the experience has been a good one, considering my unwillingness. They were friendly, and at least in my view, caring. They used a scrotal incision rather than the pre-scrotal which seems to be both less stressful and quicker to heal for my pup. We’re 4 days post op and things are well. He’s back to his normal self and his surgery site looks clean and well on it’s way to healed.
