What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. It’s a very small pet store packed with plenty off pet goodies! What they lack in size they make up for in customer service, product knowledge and useful tips in animal care.
After going to a few of the big box stores for information an pet care tips on our newest family member Arty the Axolotl most of the places recommended animal house or had no idea on how to care for them.
We walked into animal house armed with questions and Google on standby and wow they put us at ease and we left with a few essentials an treats for Arty.

  2. I first came just to buy flea treatment for a dog that runs around my neighborhood and has fleas very bad. But the gentleman that worked there informed me that if her fleas were real bad to give her a flea bath first. So I bought an organic neem oil and oatmeal flea and tick shampoo skeptical about how well this would actually work and to my surprise! It worked wonderfully. It killed most of the fleas if not all of them, including the ones on her face where I didn’t even scrub. Thanks for the great advice with our team effort this little girl has no more fleas! Now hopefully I can speak with there owner about how cheap it is to treat her each month.

  3. This is my go to for all my bird and fish needs. Their selection variety is way above other local stores. I also added to my flock on one stop in to grab seed. Our baby Sherbert is almost a year old now..

  4. I came for cbd dog treats for my anxiety ridden pup. Rousing my fingers. This place is just packed with stuff. They have some pets there (birds, fish, etc, they looked weel taken care of but I always feel so bad for them😪

  5. We feel so at home here with all the exotic birds and other critters! Great place. Great people. Quality products. We even brought home our new kitten, Sabrina, and she is a healthy happy loving little joy!

Great service for stray cats and kittens. So thankful for their help. I wanted to give our neighborhood cat and kitten a better life, but could not afford normal vet. They make it very easy and convenient to get these cats taken care of. Both appear to be happy and healthy now.

If I could put a 0 star rating I would. I work at a vet office. We had a feral cat in our back parking lot that we caught and sent to the county. The county ended up giving the cat to this rescue and they neutered and clipped his ear. They then called the clinic and I ended up picking up the phone. A lady told me that they wanted to release the cat back into our back parking lot due to it having a very feral attitude and woukd be perfectly fine living as an outdoor cat. My manager said no. The lady then went on to say that they are legally aloud to release the cat within a certain distance of our clinic and that they were going to release him across the street. It told her it probably wasn’t a good idea because there is an intersection right by our clinic and the cat could probably smell his sent in our back parking lot, and would likely try to return there. They did it anyways and we found thr cat dead in the road this morning.

By far the best shelter I’ve ever been in (and I’ve visited/worked with a TON of shelters in my line of work). I adopted my girl “Squirrelly” from them, and fostered a beautiful hospice cat named Esther for them. The animal care staff does an excellent job maintaining the facility and providing love and enrichment to the animals. Thank you FOS!

Went here today with my two children to adopt a cat. I have lived in 5 different states and have visited multiple shelters in my life. This establishment was very clean and well organized. I met at least 6 different staff members and they were all so friendly. Our cat is already micro chipped and registered through them. My kids enjoyed the experience and I didn’t have to worry about cleanliness. Our kitty is doing amazing at home with us and we are so happy

They helped me with the catch & release program for the feral cats that I feed. The cats (2f & 1m) are all fixed now & got their shots, flea treatment & dewormed. They also got ear tipping so if they’re ever picked up by animal services, they will be released back to the original location & not kept in the shelter or put down. It didn’t cost me a dime. I’m so happy they are healthy & can’t continue to procreate. Also while I was there, I saw a family adopt a cat. And a man who was fostering a young pitbull was there to pick up free food to feed his foster. These ppl truly do so much for the homeless animal community. I love it. And they were wearing different styles of lgbtq+ shirts that said “Stray pride” or the like. Which I also totally loved!

I volunteer and foster for PetPal, they are an amazing organization. They try and work with potential adopters for the right fit, so hopefully animals won’t be returned. We have adopted 4 pets from them and love them so much. Actually 5 including my mother’s dog. I have had numerous friends that have found their forever pets from PetPal as well. Keep doing what you do.

This is the place to adopt your pup/cat. Amazing people who want these babies to go to good homes. Just adopted a beautiful girl and she’s so happy to have a forever home. All adoption fees go right back to food and things for the other animals.

If you don’t OWN A HOME, don’t waste your time! I am in an apartment in Clearwater LOADED with dogs, literally have 2 dog parks (small + large) 50 yards from my front door, and, because some D-bag in the past returned a dog, “we don’t do apartments” was the exact quote I received when a heart-broken dog and I had to part ways yesterday due to my standards of living not being good enough for them?!?! In a world where we’re so quick to jump on bias and social injustice, why is this not brought up? Where are my social justice warriors??? Dogs are the ones who lose here–PERIOD. Even if you give out 10 dogs and 1 is returned, you gave 9 dogs a great home and have another chance to find the 10th a new home; but when you send me out the door after I’ve already bonded with a dog and tell me it’s because I have an apartment, that’s unacceptable. If that’s the case, it should say in bold “WE DON’T DO APARTMENTS.” I see a canned blurb on there about some dogs being too loud for apartments…breed had nothing to do with it–I was told “WE DON’T DO APARTMENTS.” That sounds a little discriminatory to me. What about the good dog owners who have apartments and want to rescue a dog? S.O.L. if you go to Pet Pal! Renters take up 38% of St. Petersburg, Florida real estate, occupying a total of 42,073 units, while homeowners live in 69,884 properties. That’s a lot of good dog homes being not considered…what is the real purpose of this shelter, to cater only to those who are blessed to own a home, or is it to find a dog a solid bond, good home, and lots of love (whether I rent or own)? From where I sit, it’s a pretty skewed adoption agency. IF YOU DON’T OWN A HOME, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING! “””WE DON’T DO APARTMENTS!!!””” Here’s my sub-par living conditions for my new dog…

Had a wonderful experience getting my dog here. When we took her home her stitches from being spayed opened up. The staff asked us to come back and they checked her out to make sure she was okay and gave us some gauze and a cone to prevent her from licking. Love this place!

This is a great shelter! My dog is a Pet Pal alumni. It is obvious the animals are very well cared for and loved and the shelter is always clean. The staff is very helpful and goes the extra mile to make sure every adoption is the right fit for both the human and the dog. I highly recommend!!!
