What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Took my Standard Poodle there on Saturday to be groomed by Lauren. I asked her to cut it low. When I came to pick him up, I didn’t recognize my own pet. He wasn’t shaved but his curls were completely gone all over! The almost shaved cut was very uneven, gaps showed his blue skin! From now on I will go to Winston store where I know I can get a good groomer! A poodle should still look like a poodle after a cut, not a half cut Doberman. After his cut he was also traumatized. Sitting on the sofa, close to me. He has never gotten on the sofa before. He also slept behind the bed in a corner, on a pile of throw pillows instead of his bed!!! Just terrible experience there!!! The picture shows my poodle with his beautiful coat pror to the cut along with my other poodle who was groomed at the Winston store with a close cut. She was shown pictures of desired cut.

  2. We had our dog, Kira, have a bath and brush Chi appointment at this location with Taylor. I was very hesitant to let anyone else do her as I normally take care of her coat myself for my father. However, after not having the time to visit over the past year her coat had become not so great. I wasn’t feeling up to bathing her so I booked the appointment. When I went to pick Kira up, I was not disappointed. She smelled great, looked great, and was very happy.

I would be very careful reading reviews on here, specifically when it comes to people complaining about their pets cuts. As someone who used to work at PetSmart, the only time a dog is shaved down or has an uneven cut is due to matting or due to a pets fur/hair already having prior patching. It is PetSmart policy that a call be made if your dog has to be cut shorter than discussed or the service has to stop and the dog be returned if we do not get explicit permission. Trust me, no groomer likes cutting a dogs glorious hair/fur down to the skin. It also isn’t beneficial for your pet, as it can cause razor burns, ingrown hairs, ruin how your pets coat grows back, etc. All things they are held liable for. Trust your groomers at least in that regard. They do what is best for your dogs coat health and experience at PetSmart.

  3. It’s ok. Today there was urine on the floor I avoided bc I was lucky enough to see it. I know animals come in here and I think that’s great….not my issue. There was also a food spill in the back that I didn’t notice right away and almost slipped on some crumbs. No signs at either area. I tried to purchase two items but one rang up incorrectly. The cashier was very nice, never any issues there. But when I told her the price it rang up didn’t match what was on the tag she just said “Yea it’s this price” So I said “ok you can remove that I can get it at Target cheaper” Instead of checking the tag in the store she said if I could pull up on my phone where it’s cheaper elsewhere they could price match. Well there’s three people on line behind me and you should really check your own price in store since there’s more items on the shelf under that wrong tag. But I guess that isn’t an option there. She just insisted that “things move around in the store” Yea I get that,I’ve worked retail BUT we always went and checked before we called the customer a liar. Weird. So I left work one item and went elsewhere to purchase the other…which was $7 cheaper.

  4. So my wife bought a cute lil shih tzu for me and we wanted a good shampoo for him, one that smells good, moisturises, deodorizes and soothes his skin and this is it… PetSmart is a pets playground 🐈🐕 #BeYourOwnJudge👌🏽✌🏽

  5. I need a lot of cat food and petsmart is where I can stock up buying dozens of cans at a time. I appreciate the variety of boxed fancy feast as it saves me from carting a lot of individual cans. The staff are helpful and checking out is easy.

The employees really love pets. Our dogs are missing and we want them back. We looked and posted many days but no sign. Darius Banks was the caregiver at the time.

They have a friendly staff that works hard to ensure the safety of every visitor and animal. They truly care about finding each and every furry friend a forever home and take great care of the animals. This is Boomer, the newest member of our family, thanks to Guilford County Animal Shelter.

Someone else brought my dog here and they allowed him to be pounded after assuring me that my dog would not be able to be pounded there without my consent and since their name was not on the paperwork. Now I had to go get my dog because I called to check on my dog and they said that they were going to kill my dog because he was not getting along with people I thought this was a no-kill shelter. But when I went to pick him up he was getting along well with the other staff members but they had him locked in a cage with the vicious dogs. When I received my dog back he will not eat. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone who wants a no-kill shelter.

Caring people obvious pet lovers of all kinds. Great information is offered for keeping pets well. My dogs were lost or stolen, and they helped me search for them.

After having a friend bring home a dog with parvo from the Guilford County Animal Shelter which spread to our other dog, we became really cautious about going there seeing as how they assured me that they have their dogs checked by veterinarians before adopting them. It seemed kind of sketchy to me. Anyway, my friend and I kept going to the Guilford County Animal Shelter trying to find a dog that would work with our needs, and they seemed nice towards us until today when they told us that we were put on their “Do not adopt” list for reasons that we did not realize that one could be put on a “Do not adopt” list. They never gave us a warning. They never explained this list to us. They just expected us to know the qualifications for being placed on this list. I guess that they just figured that everyone is psychic and should know these things. This final experience was the last straw when it came to our ever going to the animal shelter again. I mean, we were more than gracious with them. We were more than gracious with them, and they basically spit in our faces. Not only will we not be going back to an animal shelter, but we will encourage others not to adopt from them either. I have no qualms with doing so either.

Staff were super friendly and listened to what we wanted in our new pet. They took us directly to Little Miss Muffin, who came home with us that same day- but only after meeting and interacting with her new big sister, Chrissy.

Your people need to tell everyone dropping their animals off which entrance to use. Multiple women went in and just looked at me sitting at the door waiting and didn’t have the decency to tell me I was at the wrong door. GPS takes you to the employee entrance. I could have missed his appointment because nobody cared to inform me till I had been sitting there 15 mins and finally a wonderful young man had enough sense to let me know. Once I was in the right place the girl that came out to get the animal was wonderful and polite.

My sister took her Chihuahua to get neutered there last year and the people are very friendly and really seem to care about the animals. Plus it was pretty inexpensive, they also have a program for discount spay and neuter if u have Medicaid or foodstamps. It’s sometimes hard to get an appointment though because they stay so booked up but there website makes it easy to check for available appointments.

I had a 1pm appointment today to adopt two 4 MTH old cats (Prentiss and JJ) found online. JJ wasn’t ready to be adopted yet (no chip?). So I quickly picked a similar cat (Rose). After more than an hour in the backroom with my selected (and other caged) cats, all 3 employees attended to me and allowed me to adopt ($50 per cat). They apologized for the wait and helped me with my new Walmart carrier (didn’t purchase their $10 cardboard one). I received both cat’s paperwork and, after inquiring, a clear bag of mixed food. Rose and Prentiss are adorable and doing well. My rating is based on that.

Really sad to have to leave this review with all the good ones but my experience was definitely an eye brow raiser. I had been interested in a dog and scheduled to come see her. When seeing her, I noticed she had an approximate 3 inch long, 1.5 inch wide hernia on her belly. I left forgetting to mention it or if they had plans to fix it. I was told that day that she didn’t have any appointments to see her and only people were coming in to browse the whole shelter after me. Within 30 minutes of me leaving, I remembered the hernia and decided to email them asking about it, only to receive an email back that it was a “small” hernia and that she was already adopted out and no longer available. Concerning that I brought up a health issue and suddenly I’m not able to adopt the pup anymore. Whole thing just felt very off for a dog that had no appointments yet was gone within an hour of me seeing her.
