- Reviews:This is my first time using Green House service. My heater stop working today and I was looking to get a quick fix. Checked couple of places nearby, but only Green House was able to get me scheduled in the same day. The technician came on time and was able to quickly identify the issue and fixed it. The carbon build up was removed and unclogged the pressure switch tubes. No extra charge was added other than the normal diagnostic fee. Overall, the service is quick and professional. They quickly came when our previous one was broken and provided estimates about different options. We chose the electric option (heat pump or hybrid water heater) and it is working very well. We did some research about the brands they proposed, they were very good quality ones according to online reviews. They arrived on time for the installation, were very professional and explained the functioning after they were done, answering all my questions. Get a call from Green House Plumbing that original appointment at 9:30AM will need to be changed to noon on same day 1/13. Not a problem since I already re-arranged my work schedule to accommodate. No show at 12:00, so I called and talked to Matt. Was told that I did not have an appointment scheduled and he did not know why since I was in their call log for the change in times. Matt said he would get a tech out by 3:00pm. Get a message on my cell from Connie that tech at 3PM will not be able to make it and to call her back. I did and had to explain that the 3pm was not an add on to their day but was supposed to be a previously scheduled appointment and explained what happened with the changes. Connie made another appointment for 1/16/2023 at 8:00AM. Well, at 8:08 AM on 1/16 I called Green House Plumbing to check on the appointment time. Connie verified it was at 8AM but no show. Connie informed me that their tech was sick and never notified them he would be out. Was told a tech would make it at 3PM. See a pattern here. So, I said thanks for wasting two days of my time and will need to find a reliable plumbing company. Do want to say that both Matt and Connie were nice folks trying to manage this situation to the best of their abilities. Thank you for trying. But, after three strikes and you can’t get it done. Time to move on. Sad thing is it was only for an estimate on re-piping a water heater. Maybe 15 min. time to tell me what it will cost if they did the work. I guess I can chock Friday’s fiasco up to being Friday the 13th. But today – not so easy to let go. Cost was very competitive. Service folks were informative, professional and very prompt in finding the issue and suggesting a correction which we are in the process of reviewing the bid for future work. Unfortunately, they did not feel that they had the best equipment for finding the leak and needed to call in another company. That company was not able to help, so nothing has happened so far. Guy comes out a few days later spends 30 minutes investigating and 30 minutes fixing his non contact voltage tester. We find the issue then he mumbles in a heavy accent “I can just throw a new GCFI for 49…”. Assuring me he is giving me the best deal and not rewiring my whole wall for $1k. Replaces a single outlet and leaves the drywall scraps and old outlet on the counter. I then find out he has charged me $500 instead of $150 so I call to see if there has been a mistake. I immediately get yelled at and talked over with him stating that: – I deserve to pay more because I make good money – I should pay more because my condo was expensive (since 500k is expensive in bellevue??) After not being able to get in a word without getting screamed at, he tells me he is with a client and will call me back but never does. Just know they will tell you one price and charge you something different after they have done the work to make you feel obligated regardless of how minor the fix. EDIT: Note how the response to this review just implies that I lied about the initial quote, and nothing about the contractor screaming over the phone for the review tagged as “professionalism”. yet it suspiciously matches the $99 fee which they “so graciously waived for me”. Short Story: Two technicians tried to up sell me on a $1000 faucet replacement. 560 for labor and 400 for sink (before tax). I fixed the problem myself for free after technician told me that faucet spray hoses aren’t sold separately.
Also charge $110 just for a diagnostic.
Long story: I noticed leaking from my kitchen sink spray hose. Figured the spray nose needed repair or tightened and it was an easy fix they could figure out. First person they send (after being 2.5 hours late) tells me without even seeing it, “you should just replace the entire faucet. ” He takes a look at it and says I don’t have experience with this model faucet. I had to wait another day for them to send a “more experienced” second technician, Fernando, who quoted me $560 just for labor, but I could save $400 by buying my own replacement faucet. He told me straight that there was no way to fix the faucet hose without disconnecting all the hoses and installing a new faucet. Well Kohler sells the spray hose for 10 dollars, they sent it to me for free.
I have zero experience with plumbing and I fixed it in 2 hours after watching a few YouTube videos. That means they were willing to charge me 560 dollars for what would have taken them 30 min. Red flags all around.
Below is the quoted price and the spray hose that I replaced myself.
We had water backing up from our toilets last night and I went on the website to schedule service. I got an immediate confirmation for first thing this morning. I got a service call that they could come earlier- and Gio showed up at 7 or so! He was knowledgeable, thorough, patient in explaining the problem and process to my husband via telephone and really detailed in helping me understand what was happening. He went the extra mile to help me download the video from snaking the camera down the pipes so I had that for my husband as well as if we needed to share with a septic company. And, I got a second call from a different department to see if there was water damage I might need help with. In this day and age, such excellent service is SO appreciated!!
Amazing service and professionalism! Gunner came right away to our 911 call and was able to find the root of the problem. I know nothing about plumbing but he was able to explain everything so I could understand and relay back to my manager. He also didn’t need to, but he helped clean up which was very generous of him. Great job!!
Service response was same day, and got the job done quickly. Suggestion is to call and get a price quote first rather than simply requesting service online. It wasn’t until the showed up that I know it was to be very expensive. Had I known, I would have asked my landlord first. But overall service was great. Highly recommend – just get a price quote first.
Jessie is amazing!! I am a property manager and I called in on a Sunday for a clog emergency at one of our units. The dispatcher was efficient and friendly. He, provided me with details on a timeframe for a tech to arrive. Jessie came to the rescue! He traveled from out of the area and was here quickly, resolved the issue and got our problem taken care of! He followed up several times on updates and provided a detailed summation of the issue.
