What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Staff was very friendly. They try to save the animals but are extremely overwhelmed as a result of irresponsible humans. San Antonio people need to do better. Get your pets spayed or neutered. The adoption fees are super cheap ($20 and some are $0).

  2. I wanted to get a dog so I checked the at risk section and saw this sweet girl. ACS was running a deal that day, $20 for dogs 1-4 year olds and $0 for 5+ year olds. After a quick walk and some playing in the fenced yard, I knew she had to come home with me. Everyone I encountered was nice and sweet and I was able to come pick up my pup a day or two after her surgery. I adopted her on Valentines day and I can say a month later, she is the happiest, most playful little baby. Thank you guys for helping me find this cuddle bug. The first picture attached is in the playpen at ACS, second is a few days later.

  3. This animal service place was alright in my opinion. It is a place where you get a dog or cat. I on the other hand was looking for a dog and the dogs saw there some looked sick or aggressive. Some looked ok but I felt sad for them. There were way too many dogs that did not belong in a cage all day but what could I do to help them? Not much. There was a secret area where puppies were and the front desk did not tell us. I happened to hear more dogs barking out of another room where I thought the cats were at. It was building 1 where the puppies were at and I saw different kinds of breeds. I needed a service dog and looked at the puppies but my wife found one she loved and after looking I decided to get her. Normally puppies cost 200 bucks but when I was there they had a special for a puppy for 25 bucks. You cannot go wrong with that. The paper work took some time but hey 25 bucks it was worth the wait. The surroundings looked nice. All in all it was good timing I went there.

  4. I just started volunteering here and I love it so far! The staff is so friendly and the entire place is very well run and organized. Everyone cares for the animals and take every measure possible to get these animals into better homes. Also Rose, the director of volunteering, is phenomenal and super friendly! Highly recommend volunteering here

  5. I had a wonderful experience at San Antonio Animal Care Services. The staff were nice and helpful, and the animals seemed happy and healthy like they were getting the care they need. They have great prices on the animals and a variety of breeds and sizes to choose from. I got my new puppy Maisey from them and we just adore her. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a furry friend.

Was able to find the perfect addition to our growing family! The technicians were on top of the game clean every pets kennel when necessary, the adoption process was great and not too long. Pics of our pup Zeus if anyone has the siblings we’d love to schedule a play date!! 💗

The experience was great, if you are doing the zip code program, you line up here at the entrance—in the picture, and then check in here, at the lobby, then wait in the waiting room, until they call you. The staff is excellent, and of course they do have hand sanitizer through out The one picture is about it is a law to have your pet microchipped. I know you can call 311, to ask about free microchipping— also this is the Leeu Naylor Medical Building— it’s all on the same block.. just when you look up the humane society, it’s the building in the back

Great service! I have taken all my pets here to get them fixed. The staff is super friendly and their prices are affordable. Check their website for the zip grant so you can pay almost nothing.

The services were great. The medical technician was sweet and polite. Just a little chaotic picking up pets…I waited for an hour and a half….you should 2 times a month one for dogs and one for cats…cats are a distraction for dogs. Some dog owners let their dogs hollering in the waiting area…

The staff was great and the process was simple but I’ve gotten 2 animals (a dog and a cat) and both have had issues. Unfortunately, I had to return the dog to the shelter and I took the cat I adopted on Saturday to the vet today and she has at least one health issue, possibly more so now I have to pay for additional testing. I don’t think I’ll be adopting from the humane society in the future unfortunately.

I adopted my 2nd dog from this facility last Monday. Their staff is really friendly and the animals are well cared for. Up to date with vaccinations, neutered, and chipped. Our puppy was ready to go. I also got a good deal on some puppy essentials at the end of our visit. Check this place out if you are looking for a new pet.

I remember entering here as a little girl in the year of 2007. That’s where I adopted a special needs kitten, he had screws in both back legs, I was afraid nobody would want him. We had given him the name Achilles, and he remained by my side for 17 years. Unfortunately, I lost him this year unexpectedly. I just wanted to thank the place I got him from, he turned out to be an amazing feline and a mama’s boy. Now, I have memories that will be cherished and forever remained with me. I love you, Achilles ❤️

If you want to adopt a pet or support a pet this is one of the best Northside places to go. A lovely pet-park – heavy emphasis on dogs over cats which is a shame but otherwise friendly and caring with great selection of (dogs mostly) and friendly staff. Support their mission they do good work and are really trying to help.
