A man named Mike showed up the next day at the exact time scheduled, and diagnosed the issue in 5 minutes. Woke up at 3 am to a very cold house. Called Carmine’s at 7:30 am and Mary Ellen was delightful and understanding of our doctor’s appointment and how to fit us in (on a Friday). We were given an ETA of 2-4pm but Leo arrived about 3pm which was great. By that time the heating had kicked in again but we went ahead and asked him to figure out what the problem was. First and foremost, our filter was saturated with dirt and he explained that could cause a stop and start of the heating. He said that the filter should be replaced about every 6 weeks (didn’t know it was that often).. Secondly, he needed to replace/refurbish a few things… as he wrote on our invoice…
NO HEAT. GAS FURNACE WAS SHUTTING OFF ON HIGH LIMIT. AIR FILTER WAS PLUGGED. REPLACED AIR FILTER AND SERVICED GAS FURNACE AND HUMIDIFIER. CLEANED FLAME SENSOR AND FLUSHED CONDENSATION DRAIN, TRAP AND PUMP. MONITORED HEAT CYCLE. CHECKED BLOWER MOTOR AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. GAS FURNACE HEATING AT PRESENT. INDOOR BLOWER MOTOR IS STARTING ROUGH. REPLACED 10 MCF CAPACITOR. STILL NOISY AT START UP. RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF INDOOR BLOWER MOTOR.
Couldn’t have said it better. Leo was very pleasant, plain spoken and obviously cares about his work. He spent about an hour. It had been a while since servicing our unit so we consider ourselves lucky to find Carmine’s and Leo at the time we did. He explained that it might be necessary to replace the “fan” (aka “blower motor”) but we will wait and see. He did not know the price and said it would be explained on the invoice, but it wasn’t , so I will have to call and find out what the future may hold for us. So, for now, all is well and so glad they fit us in before the weekend.
We have used Carmines multiple times in the past. The technicians are knowledgeable, professional and on time. They explain the issue and what and why they are replacing or repairing the product.
They have been able to provide quick appointments when available
Technician Leo who came today was very patient and knowledgeable and looked at the unit and explained what the problem was and what needs to be done. He did not rush. He waited to see if the unit was functioning so we are not left in the cold, literally.
Will definitely recommend Carmines for heating and AC repairs.
Update : Tyler and Eddie had come to install a new furnace system at our house. They were on time, explained the install process and gave an estimate on how long it would take to finish the job. They were careful with the unit and property around and made sure the surroundings were not messed up.
They were patient and did not rush the install. After, they waited to see if the unit was functioning properly and if we were satisfied with the heat/temp control etc. and answered our questions on energy consumption and conservation etc…
We are once again very happy with their service and their availability during this busy holiday season.

New heating system was not working as expected. Continued to shut down before reaching desired temperature. Over the course of 3 days several members of the team came multiple times to try and solve the problem. Turned out to be a manufacturing problem. Nothing to do with installation or anything that could have been anticipated by the installers. The whole team at Carmine’s worked diligently to troubleshoot the problem until the situation was resolved. Wonderful to be sitting in a warm home with 4 new inches of snow on the ground! Great professional, personable and hard working crew. Ours was not an easy repair or installation. Throughout the process everyone worked to come up with solutions. In these days of shoddy workmanship, it’s nice to know that there are still companies that care about the quality of their work. Great team! Would recommend to others.
John from Carmine’s was here at the expected time and after review what was needed went right to work. John was courteous and a delight to have working on the project. His work was excellent and left no mess. Everything looks and work much better now. Will call Carmine’s next time a plumber is needed and they are recommended.
