a week agoI NEED to give a shoutout to Cevion, Jaizha, and the other pick-up staff working 8/29 PM because they were absolutely HUSTLING on orders tonight. They were a little behind but gave GREAT customer service while people were upset about it taking some time to get their groceries. Usually my order is ready to be picked up, but this was the first time having to wait. Their kindness and work ethic was above and beyond – I didn’t even mind the wait. They need bonuses! Thank you to you both!3 months agoThis Kroger is significantly nicer than the other location (the one by the Lowes). Produce is high quality and often in generous sales, it is better stocked, and it is cleaner. Overall a nicer experience, if you have to go to Kroger this would be the one to go to. Still more expensive than some other options, but for a Kroger, it is five star.5 months agoAs far as grocery stores go, this Kroger is no different than most. Decent selections, decent prices. Unfortunately, this parking lot is among the worst. They have allowed their shopping cart stalls to slide out of their spaces, thus making THREE parking spaces useless…and this is all across the lot! Parking at the Publix across the street is much better.2 years agoToday I finally returned to this Kroger location in Carytown. Immediately I was greeted by staff upon entering the store. Honestly, it’s my favorite Kroger location. Even though I drive one hour from Farmville VA, it’s worth the trip! This store carries a lot of the organic and Simple Truth brand items that I like. Plus it’s an opportunity to see some other stores in Carytown during my visit. The employees at this store are very helpful and provided accurate information on which aisle to find the items that I needed.4 weeks agoToday is the Watermelon Festival in Richmond, and instead of supporting the community, Kroger decided to pay security guards to block people from using their parking to attend it. I think I’ll be shopping somewhere else from now on.

3 months agoKroger has awesome seafood and meat, but I really come here for the plants! All across the nation, everyone raves about the variety of house plants that can be found at Kroger and their sister stores, City Market, Dillions, Smiths, Ralphs. It’s rare that I can go grocery shopping without picking up some kind of green.in the last weekKroger slowly getting worse and worse the produce is horrible they’re always out of some special that there running that week. Everytime I go to the store registers are not open expect you to try to use self-checkout without getting a discount for saving them payroll. The attendant is either busy with so many registers it takes forever to get help. The managers are often in the corner standing around customer service. When you try to go get help or approach they seem as if you’re a nuisance. Kroger used to be really good on par with ukrop’s but anymore it is almost worse than Walmart 👎in the last weekOne of the best Krogers I have visited. Pharmacy staff was fast and friendly and Customer Service dept. was friendly, fast and helpful. Store was clean and organized.10 out of 102 months agoThe worst Kroger’s in the US… I only gave it a star because the deli lady was nice. I wanted turkey cut but the employee was on break I asked for a manager to come and cut me some turkey but he or she never showed up. I will never shop here again ridiculous how this store is run.2 months agoBad produce and horrible customer service! Purchased more than $30 of their fruit bowls and they went bad before the expiration date. Went to return the fruit and they refused the refund because I didn’t have my receipt. I showed them the credit card transaction with the exact total (it was the only thing purchased that day) and offered the credit card used, that date purchased, and my phone number that our account is registered under. They said that they won’t issue a refund because they can’t prove the transaction. It took 12 minutes for Tikki, the manager, to come to customer service only to say that it’s company policy and that if I should call corporate if I had an issue with that, then she walked away from me. Pathetic. We’ve spent a time of money with them over the years and they just lost customers over ~$30 worth of bad fruit. Spend your money elsewhere, they clearly don’t care about their customers!

The parking here is terrible and the inside feels cramped as well. Same quality as other Krogers though
Possibly the worst Kroger in the world; definitely the worst I’ve ever been to. It’s unfortunately the closest grocery store to me so I end going in regularly when I don’t feel like driving across town to go to the good stores. The building is laid out terribly – it’s smaller than the average Kroger and whoever laid out the aisles clearly hates people. Multiple aisles have big support beams going right down the middle of the aisle. They could have planned that out to make them fall in between aisles but of course they didn’t. The aisles are also way narrower than normal so a single fat person on a motorized cart can block an entire aisle for everyone.
The shelves are almost never completely stocked. If you go in with a list of 20 items, you have to assume at least two, up to as many as 4 will be out of stock. Sometimes these items will stay out of stock for weeks.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, they never have shopping baskets available at the door. They absolutely refuse to put used baskets back by the front door, so the best you can hope for is to find one by the registers, which you have to push against the flow of outgoing customers to reach. Often you won’t even find one there. At that point I normally decide they don’t want my business and leave. It’s really strange because every now and then I’ll go in and there will be tons of baskets, but after a week or so they drop down to about a dozen for the whole store. I suspect they remove them on purpose in hopes that you’ll take a cart and buy more stuff.
They also frequently run out a regular bags and instead only have the worst quality paper bags to offer. These bags have handles, but they are ornamental only – they will fall off as soon as you try and use them.
Avoid this place if you have any choice at all!
Parking lot is a car dump. These cars have been sitting in the lot for almost a year. Not cool on busy days.
Kroger in Scott’s Addition has a fabulous selection of everything you can think of food wise. I really like their sushi counter and bakery. The place is neat and well-stocked, and I don’t wait long in line if at all. I love earning points with their reward system to buy discounted gas with, at the station right there in the parking lot. One brand I’d like to see added is Brown Cow yogurt. If they had that, I’d go there every week!
The management and employees are rude and unhelpful my 73 year old mother was almost attacked by a 15 year old employee here and her family she called up there because I reported her attitude to the manager instead of helping me she got smart then calls her mother and 4 people came to try and fight her for nothing not to mention they stole my mother’s purse and we contacted the police and we got banned from the store these employees need to be fired and security was standing right there when they stole the purse. We got banned after calling the police with no reason as to why we are banned
