  1. My grandson threw a toy in the toilet that clogged the toilet. Benjamin was here much quicker than expected. He explained clearly what the options were to fix the clog and the cost for each. Fortunately he was able to clear the clog quickly using the least aggressive method. From the time I called to the time the issue was resolved was less than 2 hours. I’m extremely happy with the service. It was expensive, but I expected that. I was happy to pay in coin for the quick resolution since my grandkids will be back tomorrow. He also recommended a toilet lock and told me where to get one.

  2. Bathroom sink was leaking badly with water dripping from hot water line & the “main drain pipe” thing (or so I thought.) The plumber found the issues right away…hot water line was leaking & corroded…he replaced it in a couple of minutes. The other leak wasn’t the drain pipe at all. The aerator had become clogged & was spraying all over, so I had removed it. Turns out that on this faucet, without the aerator, the water didn’t just flow straight down. Some of it was traveling down the underside of the faucet & flowing over & behind the sink. He put on a new unclogged aerator…problem solved. They’re expensive, but very good…had used RR when I lived in NC & that plumber was just as good (that was a big job with some problems & he worked his butt off)…knowledgable, good work, very neat about the work, not leaving a mess. In both circumstances, the plumbers cut back on the bill some. They realize that RR can be pretty pricey & if they do something that’s “no big deal” to them, the guys I’ve had didn’t feel comfortable charging the full price. They were considerate & helpful.

    Matt & Brendan came again on Saturday, to de-scale and clean all the cast-iron septic pipes in my house. Once again, they did not disappoint. They did a fantastic job, showed up on time, and we are once again professional and courteous. Great job Matt and Brendan. Much appreciated.

  4. This was my first time using Roto-Rooter services and they did not disappoint! After having a big issue with my main drain being clogged, I called RotoRooter and they were able to send a technician over very quickly.

    Joe (the Tech) was extremely helpful, kind, and explained everything to me along the way. He listed off all the possibilities, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident with everything he attempted. He was overall so friendly and I genuinely enjoyed his company while he worked on my house. Great experience!

  5. Our plumber was James. We had a washing machine hookup done. I can’t say enough about his professionalism, punctuality and the quality of his work. Within a very short time of our call, he showed up, looked at the job, explained how he would accomplish it, and gave a quote. The next day he showed up right at the time he promised, with a smile on his face, and spent the time necessary to do the job. Nothing was rushed, and the quality of the work was impeccable. Afterwards, he walked me through the job to ensure I knew where all the pipes and hookups were located. The area was clean, and left just as he found it. We will definitely request James the next time we need a plumbing job done!

    Best experience we have had! Honestly, they are single handedly the most professional, responsive, and experienced services company we have every used. We had Martell remove our old boiler and hot water tank heater and replace it with a Viessmann efficient hot water boiler and an indirect water heater. They also redid some of the existing water pipes that were done incorrectly by the prior owners. From the beginning Jim and team were professional, very responsive, and accommodated any questions/requests we had without hesitation before, during, and after installation. The job took two days, and honestly, I have never seen such neat, tidy and organized work from anyone. After the first day, they left our house immaculate overnight–cleaned and organized. I’ve never seen any service company leave the place so organized even though they would come right back the next day! The final result was immaculate (see picture) and works perfectly! If you need any work done, especially plumbing and heating you need to talk to Jim and his team.

    We chose Martel Plumbing & Heating to upgrade our heating system into the 21st century, it was a smooth and seamless process. They do quality work at a great price!     I had Martel plumbing give me a quote of $1600 for a gas leak repair and a kitchen sink installation. I ended up paying $1160 for the gas leak to be repaired and $975 for the kitchen sink installation. There were two more leaks found in the gas line and I don’t believe they would have been found if not for the town inspector calling Martel about the pressure test not passing. The kitchen sink was straight forward. Pull the old one out, put the new one in, and change it from two drains to one drain. The plumber took it upon himself to remove the hot water bypass valve rendering the $500 circulating system useless. He claimed “I did not know what it was.” I was able to get them to bring it back and he reinstalled it following day before it was discarded. In closing Martel was friendly and fast to get the work done. If not for the town inspector catching the pressure test, I would still have a leak on my gas line. If not for myself having enough knowledge about my plumbing I would have a 500 dollar hot water circulating pump not working. I did place a call to the office in regards to paying so much over the quoted price. I was told they would look into it and get back to me, but I have yet to hear back. The last call I received from Martel was to schedule a service on my gas hot water furnace for which I was quoted 800 dollars. I will not be scheduling this. After paying $600 above the quoted $1600 I will not use and would not recommend using Martel Plumbing in the future.

    Kyle, Jake and Jimmy did the install of a Navien high efficiency boiler while disposing of my old clunky boiler/water heater. The guys worked efficiently and professionally – doing extensive quality checks at the end to make sure everything was functioning properly. I’ve used them for smaller projects and they did a great job with a major one here.

    We just bought a house in November which ended up having heating issues. The high efficiency boiler that we inherited kept turning off (no heat or hot water) and displaying an error code. This particular boiler is technically challenging, requiring a specialized/advanced skillset. Not knowing this, we called around and many companies were turning us away because they don’t work on those. We found Martel recommended on the boiler manufacturer’s website. We called on a Thursday night and left a message after hours. A woman returned the call Friday morning and scheduled a visit for that same day! Ray and Zack were incredibly knowledgeable and informative. They took the time to explain findings/problems/solutions in ways we could actually understand. At times, they even consulted with the boiler manufacturer technicians while working, ensuring the highest quality of work. Ray and Zack did a fantastic job. It has been just about a month now and we have not had any issues! Its comforting, as new homeowners, knowing we found a reliable company with advanced technical expertise and great customer service. When we need plumbing/heating assistance in the future, we will contact Martel without a doubt.
