  1. i have used Ongaro a few different times. Each time they try to sell me “services” that they can make to improve this or that at my house. i had an annual service contract which basically entails paying for service a year before they actually do anything. i just had them do the annual flush of the instant hot water heater and they said that the pressure relief valve is leaking on the gas line, which is corroded. They pressured me to sign the contract for $2000 (more than the cost of the heater). i finally got a written copy of the estimate and its outrageous. Even though I am a “valued customer” the costs are egregiously inflated. Maybe taking advantage of an older female in healdsburg, not sure. If you pay Ongaro they will show up, and they are professional. But you will pay through the nose. I agree with another reviewer: i can’t believe how many people rate this company highly.

Ongaro installed a new system which was ok except that they tried to get me to purchase the most costly system and when they came out a yr later to clean the system they did a terrible job and lied to me. They took two of the metal filters and said they could just hose off. I took them for their word but didn’t notice a difference in the air quality. They also tried to sell me a air purifier system. I was not happy with them and called another company which came to clean it filters and they were horrified with how filthy the filters were. They said that the metal filters should never be washed and that they were now all rusty. They also informed me that I had another two filters that were apparently never changed and were thick with dust and dog hair. Ongaro refused to talk with me or make right what they had failed to do and I hope anyone that needs heating work will think twice about hiring Ongaro.

  4. Ongaro and Sons was disingenuous and lied on the phone. When I called to cancel appointment, they said they would waive the $88 initial consultation fee. Then when I got the bill of course the $88 fee was on there. I called them multiple times to inform them of this and still, they refuse to honor their initial claim. Their price for basic electrical services was easily $100 more than a half a dozen other electricians I had consulted with, poor customer service. Unwilling to listen to the customer and false claims that they would not adhere to. stay away from them, dishonest and difficult to deal with.

  5. Ongaro & Sons can’t even show up to their appointments so I can’t imagine trusting them to actually install something. I made an appointment with them for an estimate on replacing my furnace and wall heaters with a heat pump system. This is a large job that will cost $40-50K, so I assumed they’d be eager to win the bid from their competitors who have already been out to give me a quote.

    They gave me a 2 hour window for when they’d show up. Halfway through, they called me and said that their technician was running late and would be there 30 minutes after the scheduled window. This didn’t work for me so we rescheduled for the next day. On the following day, with 20 minutes left in my 2 hour window they called me and said that their technician was running late and would be there after the arranged window again.

    I wanted to get a bid from Ongaro & Sons because they are among the highly rated HVAC companies in the Santa Rosa area. This was the last bid I was planning to get, and the other highly rated companies in the area that have already been out arrived promptly, seemed genuinely interested in doing the work and communicated with me promptly. Given that Ongaro & Sons won’t even show up on time, I will be going with their competitors who put in the basic work to just show up.

He worked quick, went beyond the typical clogged-drain service, and had my kitchen usable again within 90 minutes.     The person who helped us came on time, thoroughly explained the options I had before he performed the job, and educated me on the systems we had at the property. Once he began working he found that it was a much bigger job than anticipated. He worked extra long and hard for the original price we agreed upon and told me some helpful preventative measures to keep my pipes clean. Great service!

    Gerry was on time, professional, highly experienced and competent, and just a delight to be around.     Jayson and his crew replaced 75 year old cast iron sewer line with trenchless, state-of-the-art plumbing in under seven hours.     I called the number listed at the top of the website just after 9 AM and booked the available 10:00-11:00 AM window same day. In an hour or less, the plumber arrived. Primary call out was to check the toilet that was not flushing and a bath tub that was stopped up. Additionally had all sinks checked for drainage as well. Primary issues resolved and one sink also cleared out. Problem toilet, kitchen faucet, septic, and water heater inspected and recommendations made with pricing estimates. Nicholas was efficient, neat, and great to work with. He answered all my questions and even adjusted my water heater for better performance. I appreciate getting the older fixtures back in working order while I can save up for items that are near the end of their lifespan and will need replacing. I highly recommend everyone I’ve come in contact with at this company, and will definitely be using them again!

    I normally don’t write reviews, however in this case I felt I needed to thank the plumbing experts at Rooter-Man Plumbing , Ricky, Nick and Damien ! Thank You! They quickly responded to a broken pipe under the house which was only discovered as a result of a tub backing up. The group worked hard and replaced the pipes and unclogged the backup . We appreciated how they kept us informed along the way. They all were courteous, respectful of our property, efficient, paid attention to detail and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending .     After trying far too many things to clear up my toilet backing up into my bathtub, finally called Rooter Man in the late afternoon. They managed to squeeze me in the same day. Nicholas was very professional, ran a camera up the drain to show me where the blockages were, and then used his machines to clear it, and a few roots. I’m a huge DIY sort of guy, but it was a good reminder that even if I’d gone and rented the tools to do this right, I didn’t necessarily have the expertise to use them effectively. I’m super happy that they managed to get someone to my house within a just few hours at the end of the day, that the clean-out was quick and easy, with a predictable price, and with someone who had the experience to tell me that, no, I didn’t need to do a whole big replacement project.

    Once again rooter man to the rescue!! The whole house was backed up and filling into the showers. I expected the worst on a Monday after a holiday but to my surprise they were there within an hour and unclogged shortly after that. They were prompt, professional and affordable. Having used them about 6 months ago for another issue I knew I could count on them. Highly highly highly recommended!
