What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I was a host through the Airbnb platform and they decided to lock my account. They asked me for my driver’s license and utility bill a copy of my timeshare and my tax return. This platform is a joke and I am so disgusted with the company I will never tell anyone to come with this company. And I lost my first customer because they cancelled my account. I thought the company was a real company but they told me that my timeshare wasn’t real it was fake. Westgate vacation town center has been around for 25 years and going strong.

  2. Please DON’T use Airbnb

They don’t care anything about the tenant. All disputes they favor the host-even you are faced with serious safety issues

    THEY DONT CARE

always 100% favor on the host
My friend was fraudes by a host in UK and the host connected with a local tried to rob them.
And image the host almost always has a backup key – how horrifying it was! My friend called the police and got a taxi rushed out luckily enough before they got them
No any explanation or compensation from Airbnb. Of course no refund. The customer kept close their conversation and did NOTHING to help.

  3. Air B&B is a perfect example of what happens when a business is allowed to thrive unregulated and unchecked. It is a catastrophe of epic proportions for both sides. I cannot wait for the day that Air B&B shuts its doors, this business is the epitome of a bad business. They make money from both sides of the equation from both renters and hosts. Their customer service is SUB-STANDARD for both sides of the equation. Their rules are gamed for their growth and success, not for the host or for the guest. Its a self serving monster that should be shuttered or HEAVILY REGULATED by the Government to prevent them from doing the horrible things that they are doing.

DO YOURSELF AND OUR COUNTRY A FAVOR AND STAY AT HOTELS/MOTELS. Air B&B deserves to close the sooner the better. A class action lawsuit simply isn’t enough for the bad karma air b&b is doing day to day.

THEY DO NOT CHECK THE PROPERTIES. They dont even know the safety , cleanliness, or even the location of the properties. They are not responsible for anything , they wont help you in any way. Please see the photos of the place I stayed at for 2 days in NorCal and paid $1200.00 for the stay and didnt get not even $1 back , STOP USING AIR B&B and call for the government to REGULATE THEIR FEES AND THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS!!!

  4. I got locked out of my airbnb late at night. Unfortunately the host did not mention the spare key in the instructions and I had to sleep on the side walk until the sun came out and the host finally replied. I was not offered a refund or credit for my awful experience which if I had lost my key at a hotel it would not have been a problem. Don’t end up like me sleeping like a homeless person on the windy streets of Chicago.

  5. Please DO NOT use Airbnb. Their reviews are deceptive as they censor negative ones, and they have no protections for tenants.

I rented an apartment with Airbnb for two months. When a safety issue occurred that forced me to leave the apartment (the host told me he couldn’t do anything about the situation and that I was on my own), Airbnb only gave me a partial refund and charged me for nights in which I was not using the space. When I left a review sharing my experience and explaining what the host had told me, Airbnb removed my review. This is the reason that almost all apartments have over 4-star ratings: Airbnb will remove negative reviews without a chance to challenge them.

7+ Airbnb Safety Tips You Need to Know

Here are some Airbnb safety tips to help you stay safe during your stay:

  • Read the reviews carefully. This is the most important safety tip. The reviews will give you a good idea of what other guests have experienced at the Airbnb. Look for reviews that mention safety, cleanliness, and the overall experience.
  • Communicate with the host. Once you’ve booked the Airbnb, be sure to communicate with the host. Ask them any questions you have about the property or the area. You should also let them know your arrival and departure times.
  • Meet the host in person. If possible, try to meet the host in person before you check in. This will give you a chance to get to know them and ask any last-minute questions.
  • Check the security features. Once you’re at the Airbnb, be sure to check the security features. This includes things like the locks on the doors and windows, the security system, and the smoke detectors.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. When you’re out and about, be aware of your surroundings. Don’t leave your belongings unattended, and be sure to walk in well-lit areas.
  • Trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to leave. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

By following these safety tips, you can help ensure that your Airbnb stay is safe and enjoyable.

Here are some additional tips to stay safe on Airbnb:

  • Use a strong password and two-factor authentication. This will help protect your account from being hacked.
  • Don’t share your personal information with anyone you don’t know. This includes your full name, address, and phone number.
  • Be careful about what you post online. Don’t post photos or videos of the Airbnb that could identify it or the location.
  • Report any suspicious activity to Airbnb. If you see anything that makes you feel unsafe, report it to Airbnb immediately.

By following these tips, you can help keep yourself safe while using Airbnb.

Scam – what you are doing is illegal!!! Dishonest and shady policies – please watch out! I used airbnb for the last 10 years but the past 2 negative experiences have turned a loyal consumer into will-never-use-your-platform-again person!

I wish they’d have kept their initial support strategy. It really went down especially since the pandemic. It’s harder getting support to help with any inquiries but also to keep a seamless thread with the same support representative. Always have to explain everything again and nobody understands.

Thank you for honoring your commitment! We lost a deposit for a trip that was cancelled in May 2020 due to the pandemic. At that time over two years ago, Airbnb said they would rebate the money on our next rental. And, they did. You are simply the best!

Complaint against unfair and prematurely reviewed resolution/reimbursement request by Daisyi. Hope corporate office may be able to take action on her.

Review was handled by an incompetent Airbnb resolution specialist named Daisyi. Daisyi handled my case poorly. Daisyi’s responses were unprofessional and unhelpful toward a loyal host who tried to follow protocol fully for resolution requests. Specifically in this request review, she was unable to provide proof of her research or review to justify significantly small reimbursement amount despite all supporting documents provided including purchase receipt. She refused to give additional time for thorough review and more documentations and immediately jumped into conclusion that was unreasonable. Not to mention, she took her own sweet time (weeks and weeks after request submission) to review this. I have never dealt with such difficult person from Airbnb, hence this my reason for writing this.

Terrible customer service, Indian Call Centers, lock people out of accounts permanently if you have a new phone number- no possible resolution. The concept is great, but the experience is a total nightmare.

Business is about Trust. You can’t trust this company or it’s hosts and all those glowing reviews. The legitimacy of all those glowing reviews needs to be questioned. They don’t show pictures from guests of the #AirBnBreality or the number of stars each guest rates the hosts. Never again! I will stay at a reputable hotel.

I can’t say enough bad things about airbnb. They , offering NO explanation to us still, canceled our 2 week trip 2 days into it. They held our money until I said the magic words – that I was filing a dispute with my credit card company. They had no remorse , knowing that we were far from home with no resources. Their pompous attitudes and power tripping arrogance ,with total disregard for covid directives ,curfew or social distancing , should be held accountable – legally. Don’t not patronize this mode of travel. They are scandalous and untrustworthy. Them ,their “ambassadors” and business practices are not to be trusted. Ban airbnb.

Shady platform, would not recommend using it! Negative experience both as host and as a traveller! 🙁
