What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. China King Buffet is one of the best Chinese buffet restaurants in the Twin Ports when you take into consideration value and variety. They are always clean when we’ve been there and the food selection is nice. They are not pushy about hinting that you leave after a plate or too and the price is surprisingly affordable. Even though it’s a buffet, the staff is very attentive and friendly.

I’m very glad China King survived covid. It’s a great buffet and I’m only editing my review to add some more photos. : )

  2. Went here for my younger sisters birthday. When I tell you I was was disappointed I really was. First of All the seafood was disgusting I had a stomachache after eating it. Food is so greasy you can see the pool of oil in your plate. The desserts like the chocolate cake were dry. And the way the food tasted did not match up with the price. The outside looks like a run down shop. As soon as we entered the parking lot and I saw the building I already knew the nastiness that was coming out of it. The food was overly salty as if that’s the only seasoning they put in it. It was supposed to be a happy family lunch but because it was so nasty the atmosphere was ruined. My little brother who loves to to eat out didn’t even nastiness. When you see that place WALK THE OTHER WAY 🤮

  3. Had not been here in a couple years. I’m a Duluth resident for 58 years. Rarely eat out. Great food, not salty….fresh. Stopped in about 5:30. Very good value. Nice assortment of dishes. Real ice cream. Fantastic parking, right off I-35. Not sure about these negative reviews, but I would certainly suggest a visit here for fun relaxing dining. Really miss Man Mo and Fong’s Chinese Dragon on E. Superior St. Nothing can compare, but China King….and for a buffet, was certainly a great place to have dinner.

  4. Three words listen closely-
    SALT & MORE SALT!!!!

So ridiculously salty, without exaggeration. I could not get enough water in me for the rest of the day… Think salt on your food. Then add more salt. After that put more salt in it because maybe the first two dumps of salt were not enough. Then put a salt shaker on the table incase it needs more salt.

Or maybe more like this you are eating a block of salt. Then someone comes along and smears some broccoli or chicken on it. But it doesn’t ruin your salt block because they didn’t smear enough to ruin it.

Egg noodles soup with pork and shrimp wontons was delicious! Add extra shrimp to set it over the top. Large plump shrimp! The broth is so savory. You get jalapeño and other veggies to add, but that soup is great the way it is. I did add the veggies, though, to further put it over the top. The fried chicken wings are perfectly juicy and have a sweet sauce. I think it would be best to have something different on the TV. There was some accident rescue show on and some may not want to see that when eating.

Customer service was great. Pho was amazing! The broth tasted so delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was parking. It was a hectic to get in & out of the parking area.

I ordered pho with a variety of meat (menu number 10 with the clear broth), my girlfriend ordered shrimp dumpling (menu number 5F) and a noodle soup I forgot what it’s called (menu number 25). I liked the pho, as usual with restaurant pho the broth is sweet and rich. Their chili oil is not as spicy as I wanted but it overall the dish was great! My girlfriend did not really like her noodle soup and thinks it’s a bit sweet. She wanted smaller meat as well but I ate some for her because I love meat. She also didn’t expect the noodles to be similar to what we call kapoon noodles. We both liked the shrimp dumplings, they were delicious!

Parking can be tricky but I can see why this place is so busy. Pho was fine; not wow but not bad. Their entree plates however are definitely worth the trip. Delicious meats and generous portions.

This place was great! The server was amazing!!!! My server was so kind as well. Such a gentleman! The wait for a table wasn’t long and I didn’t mind waiting. The place is small but super cozy. They had low music playing so it was disruptive as all. I ordered the tako Yaki and oysters as the appetizers. Tako Yaki was good, I did however have a piece of almost tawed octopus. I didn’t mind. They were hot so the cold piece was welcomed. The oysters tasted great! They came with some spicy sauce that was divine!!!! OMG!!! I don’t know what it was made of but as a fan of spicy foods, I was in heaven!!!! For my main I didn’t know what to picked so I picked the sushi platter. Came with a little of everything and I enjoyed every piece of it!!! I wanted a drink and when I wasn’t sure what to have he suggested a mango drink. It was so amazing!!! Perfect with the spicy oysters! I can’t remember the second drink I got but that wad also amazing. Total came to $111 and come change not bad at all. 10/10 highly recommen! The parking if off street parking, not sure if they had a lot but I didn’t have trouble finding parking. Only problem I had was the uphill walk back to my car. It wasn’t there fault plus it helped me burn the calories I had just consumed. Win win for me!!!

Service was phenomenal and the food exceptional! We had a great experience all around. The server was friendly and gave us a great sushi recommendation. The ramen here, although simple in its ingredients, was extraordinary! We were truly surprised by the sheer quality and freshness. Definitely a recommended place to visit when you’re in town!

They had great food there. I loved the 🍣🍣🍣 sushi. The service of waitress wasn’t the greatest we all waited at a half an hour for her to come to our tables to take our orders. She made up for it though because at the time, she didn’t know that we were there. She had excellent hospitality and camaraderie with us. In fact I found out that she goes to the same college as my brother and I. Such a beautiful lady who has an enriched educated life. I love talking with people like that. I mean, who would want to talk with someone who doesn’t have a direct or goal in there life. Anyways, I loved my experience there.

Hadn’t been here in a few years. Went for happy hour with friends. Service was prompt and friendly. So sad to say our meals were well below what we remembered. My sushi was just not good. The tempura shrimp inside one of the rolls was dried out and cold. Like it had been cooked hours before (never had this experience before). Feels like this place has really slipped. We all agreed that we would probably not go back. Other choices in town for us. Sorry 😞
