April never speaks or says hello or greets as I enter, yet every other employee always greets me. I come here and shop here often but am going to choose to spend my money elsewhere. On Tuesday, March 3, 2020 I was in the store and picked up a couple of items. I was going to purchase 2% milk but most all was out of date with some being as much as 2 weeks out of date. I told the employee this as I was proceeding at check out, and I was totally ignored as if I wasn’t there. I said it about three times and all three times I received no response from the young lady. Today on Thursday March 5th, I am again in the store with same employee and no greeting or hello. A very rude-like non-polite environment. The milk is still out of date but I didn’t bother to tell the same employee as I would only be ignored. The same employee exhibits no sense of professionalism in that myself as well as other customers I see, seem to most times have to wait for her to come out of the office to the register so products can be purchased. When at register, it is hardly ever known who employee is talking to because there is always earbuds in and she seems to always be talking on the phone. I frequent many Dollar Generals and purchase many items weekly from several, but the store at 1095 W Highway 80 in Jackson, MS is terrible at this current time. Being polite goes a long way and being unfriendly to a customer can cost a particular store that customer for a long time if not forever. Keeping fresh milk helps as well. I went on a Tuesday and could not find any thing I was looking for. They seemed as though they were about to restock until u went back Thursday and everything was still in the same area. This was an accident waiting to happen with any customer. You could not make it through the aisle.
Dollar General is more of a general store and less of a dollar store. Their prices are decent though as is their customer service. Their customer service would be far better if they weren’t so inclined to a love of skeleton crews. They generally carry a pretty good product selection. All in all they are a good place to shop.
It’s a toss up as to whether the employees are friendly. Some days I can go there and feel welcomed and the next I feel like I am disturbing them by shopping at their store. Whichever attitude I get, all the employees have it. Its either all good or all bad. THE STORE IS ALMOST ALWAYS CLEAN AND CLUTTER FREE THOUGH so good job on that.
My experience wasn’t good at all. There were carts of merchandise everywhere but the woman that checked me and my friend out was VERY RUDE. I know I’m white but there was no reason to be short and rude to me wand the person I was with. All of you be aware of the girl names Shan.
I came to make a simple purchase and one of my items rung up a different price then what was on the shelf. First off the girl that was at the front counter stated she doesn’t honor prices that are displayed if the system shows it she could care less what’s on the shelf. Here attitude was very nasty. This is not the first time I’ve dealt with bad customer service at this location. I was a store manager for 3 years for dollar general and never treated my customers like that. I will find out here name and will have her job. I will not be returning to dollar general ever again and will make sure people know about her as well.
