The atmosphere is very relaxed and clean. The staff are professional and knowledgeable about their work. I received a beard trim, neck shave and haircut with shampoo station. The hot towels were extremely relaxing. I am definitely going again and will sign up for a membership (it has some pretty awesome perks). Staff were very polite and social. By far one of the best beard and hair services I’ve had in a long time.

I had been hearing positive reviews from friends about Scissors and Scotch, and they all proved to be warranted! Highly recommend this spot for a men’s haircut. Staff is very friendly, service is high quality, and all around exactly what I was looking for in a relaxed environment. I’ve been to my share of other higher-end barbers in DC, and the complementary cocktail and facial included at Scissors and Scotch for the price makes this well worth the patronage. I will be back and bring friends with me next time around!

All of the locations have been amazing. They have been clean, managed well, thorough, professional, and a warm welcome.

The barbers are great in giving you the best service you need, anytime of day. Along with a complementary drink after the service; should you wish to indulge yourself, you find yourself able to relax afterwards and enjoy your new look.

I highly recommend anyone to visit because the experience itself is worth it. Cheers to Scissors and Scotch. I’ve found my barbershop!

Great first experience at S&S Navy Yard! I typically get a skin fade, hard part with a razor shape up. Deyon executed what I was looking for, to perfection. The free cocktail at the end was great as well (smoky old fashioned). I appreciated the hospitality that was provided to me during my ~hour at the shop. I live about two blocks away and I’m considering moving forward with the membership service. Nevertheless, I’m very satisfied with my first visit. Thanks everyone!

Had a great time first experience! First time ever being offered a complimentary cocktail with my haircut and already looking forward to the next trip back. Niki was friendly and very helpful. One of the best haircuts I’ve had easily. Looking forward to looking fresh my first day on the new job! Am now a proud Scissors & Scotch member!

I came here for a basic trim a few months back. The stylist did not follow my directions for the type of cut that I wanted. Worse, he only cut one of my sideburns and left the back of my hair completely uneven. This was possibly the worst haircut I’ve ever had and definitely the worst at this price point. Better to go for a cheap haircut and grab a drink elsewhere when you’re done

Lamont is amazing. I desperately needed a haircut and he was able to squeeze me in last minute. I was on the verge of buying clippers and doing it myself but I called and he was able to see me. He told me he was about to leave but would take me anyway. He totally saved me. He was very knowledgeable and so sweet. The atmosphere was so relaxed and mellow. It didn’t even feel like my first time there, so I’ll definitely be back.

I just had my very first experience at Scissors and Scotch with Keisha and it was absolutely fantastic! It is always a little nerve wracking when trying out a new barber, but I was so happy with the result. Keisha was kind, patient, detailed, attentive, and offered advice throughout the cut. She works with you to find a great look/solution that is just right, which is sometimes rare to find. She also paused halfway through to see if there were changes I wanted to make, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Keisha and I will for sure be her new regular client!

I’ve been using Scissors & Scotch @ Union Market to get my haircut for the better part of two years. They always do an excellent job. I’ve had my hair cut by several of their stylists, but I have had my past several haircuts done by Lamont. Lamont has been awesome. When he first cut my hair, I was trying a different style for the first time in years, and he got my hair the exact way I wanted it. I’m definitely one to worry when trying out new styles, but Lamont had my back. I’ve seen him a couple times now, and he always does a great job.

I got a good enough haircut, but this was not worth the price I paid ($108 out the door). At that price I have higher expectations than a standard haircut experience. I’d describe my experience overall by saying the staff didn’t really seem to care about me or the service they provided. I arrived on time and had to wait more than 15 minutes for my stylist to come out. I ordered the ‘Ten Year’ as a first time customer which is supposed to come with a back of neck razor shave and I didn’t get that. I also didn’t get offered any kind of drink with my haircut, when the website states “all of our services include a drink! We’ll have premium liquors, handcrafted cocktails, beers on tap and coffee waiting.” With the haircut itself, gentleman cutting my hair used too much pressure with the electric shaver to the point where it was kind of painful- I’ve never experienced anything like that at any other haircut. He also would spin the chair to get to another side of my head, but started cutting/trimming while the chair was still spinning… Finally, when I was finished and went to pay and saw the price ($90 before tip), I asked if this reflected the first time haircut discount or not, and the woman at the front who seemed like she didn’t want to be there or talk to me at all, rudely stated that it did in a condescending way, as if I was in the wrong for even asking that question. I had added on the beard trim at the last minute (which is just an electric shaver trim, no shaving cream or razor usage) and didn’t realize it was $32 for that, which is why I asked about the price. Overall, this was way too expensive for an experience where I am made to feel like I am an inconvenience to these folks. I will not be coming back and can’t recommend this to anyone.

DONT GO HERE- 2022/ Barbershop is very bad. I went to the only black barber in there to feel a sense of connection with the barber because I am african american and trusted him with doing my hair. I asked for a fade, and he cut a bald spot in my hair. he didn’t have the audacity to even tell me he left a bald spot before leaving. he told me multiple times he was professional. DONT GO HERE

I have been going to Jajo’s for years and have never had a bad experience. Great service! They do an amazing high, tight skin fade. Jason is always so friendly and accommodating. Linda is my go to stylist there and she is amazing. I can’t recommend this place enough. Wish I could give them 6 stars.

Had a great experience at JaJo today! Got a great haircut from Amy and was treated well by all the employees. You will feel like the most important person while here. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!
New prices are $22 cash, $24 credit ($2 military discount).

I‘ve been coming here since I moved to DC in 2018 because Von is incredibly talented and a very nice guy. Unfortunately, the place is run by a tyrant who is rude to customers and especially to the employees. I tolerated it because the haircut was a great price and Von was so good at what he does. However, I can’t justify supporting this place anymore. Wish the best to you Von!

I lived in DC for 3 years and have been looking for a consistent Barber that I can trust and is affordable. Most DC prices are expensive, and the cuts are mediocre. This place has a good balance of value and I get a nice fade that is better than Whiskey and Barber which charges more than $40. The avg hair cut here is about $25-$30.
