- Reviews:Cafe like ambience, quite and good smell of coffee. I only bought cinnamon roll and a cappuccino. You will get what you pay. Places are also good for groups and family. But the place have lots of lots of lots of mosquitoes and I strongly suggest they can put on a insect repellent device 😅 Open at 9am and 9.30 is already full house. Unexpected to see they have filter coffee in my small hometown cafe but did not try due to I see one man show taking order, making beverage plus sending drinks make the service very slow, I’m not complaining maybe they can’t get hire but it’s not sustainable doing so. Maybe can make self order system and/or self pick up at least reduce the staff walking around and can focus more on their beverage making. I feel sorry to them to handle it tbh. Been to Kupi & Ghuti’s cafe, another version of this Kopi & Roti. It was the kampung version of them. Setup was nice. The floor, the ids, the ambience. As for the menu, not much to offer. Same goes to the coffees. No blended or frappes. Ordered the croissants, the taste was good. And they gave us sugar instead of syrup. ???? The toilet needed a thorough cleaning tho. And shockingly, nobody care to answer all these reviews. Quite surprising this is. To the owner, you’ve spent quite a fortune on the cafe. Please improvise your menus, and the service. Your barista hand over all the drinks without using any tray at all. Well, that’s absurd. What makes your cafe different? The coffee?? The croissants? As for me, the service and the cleanliness. - Reviews:Decided to come here for some snacks. Certainly enjoyed the ambience. It’s not fussy and feels very airy. The food is somewhat creative I would say. Loved the curry puffs and the cake!! Took quite a while for the puffs to arrive tho. However, the soup tasted like instant soup; it’s not bad, but not good. Service was a tad bit too slow for my liking. We went there at around 4pm and wanted to try their smoked duck but it was sold out. So we ordered grilled salmon and pasta with grilled chicken. Pasta was good. Waiting time was not too long. Really love of how they are trying to preserve the history and identity of the place while still keeping it relevant to the modern environment and economy.
The foods and drinks here are quite good. The cheese fries is a must try. The grilled chicken salad was quite exceptional.
The interior is well done with the pictures and decorations on the wall and the ceiling. Good ambience. The staffs were really friendly.
The parking in the area (Pekan Cina) is very hard to get and not to mention the terrible congestion, so suggestion is to book grab/taxi, trust me.
Good place to hang out and chill as the environment is nice and cozy. However, the food and drinks are nothing to shout out for. The food I’ve ordered were average tasting and the pasta sauce wasn’t great as it was more instant tasting rather than something that was cooked in the kitchen. The portion is quite small too for the price.
I don’t get the food….. i was expecting a piece of chicken but i got pieces instead 😅. love the ambience! The architecture is amazing so it’s a must visit for architecture students and enthusiasts. Desserts are good tho. Parking is a bit tricky. But you can double park.
Definitely a must visit cafe when you are in Alor Setar. An old building that rich with its history and heritage but also with a twist of modern food option and drinks. Recommended to try their poppy seed lemon butter cake. Ample of seats and really laid-back place to chill with family or friends. There are another level upstairs that can be explore and more secluded seats available.
Cafe is nice, spacious. They do offer affordable cakes and meals.
I had ordered Latte. Using dark roasted beans, the foam is nice and thick. I really like it. Kudos to their lemon cheese tart!
