What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I loved the location of a Beach front hotel and I use to think that this was such a snazzy, fancy, hotel from outside but I was very disappointed at the inside. The elevators were so small, the room was a great size but my shower was not clean and had left over soap in it. To make matters worse the air conditioner didn’t work in our room. This place has the potential of doing better… The Best Western down the street was more pleasant than this place.

  2. Convenient location by the sea. No complimentary breakfast. Parking is well controlled with the room key. Lobby area has good internet. I was able to work from there for some time. Generally clean. Since it’s next to the sea, I guess the building is not easy to maintain. Bathrooms were a little older.

  3. I only give the second star because of location. Stayed 4 days in April to check out the hotel because go each year to a beach soccer tournament our grandkids play in at McGee beach.

When we were ready to leave, we said, “nothing nice about it, but nothing really wrong with it…”. It’ll be good if we get a balcony when we come back and can see the games from there.

Got the manager to show us the corner room and it was perfect. Booked 5 days. No guarantee I could get THAT room but “shouldn’t be a problem— she’s making notes in my reservation.”

Arrived 7/5 for 5 days. Paid $2300 for those 5. It WAS their premium room after all. No A/C. No working phone to call and say no a/c.

Move next door they say… but it’s not on corner I say. Room wasn’t guaranteed they say. I paid for premium I say. You got premium they say. No refunds they say.

Turns out the team got standard rooms for $166/night. Mine was $450 a night with fees/taxes. The place is not worth the money.

My point is, management goes no further in making good will beyond thank you, once the credit card clears, but, my fault. I know better.

Brand new Residence Inn next to McGee. Choose it or one of the others.

  4. The pictures on the site must be from many years ago. The hotel definitely needs a make over. The outside needs some love as well as all the public areas inside. The rooms look like they’ve had a little upgrade minus the bathroom. I would probably never book here again. Staff was great. The hotel had a creepy vibe, I would not let your kids roam alone.

  5. This hotel use to be our go to, even when not in the area we make the trip just to stay at Emerald . The amenities, food and drinks were a great end after being out most of the day. This last stay with them was a total different experience and vibe! The room was very outdated and was dirty looking, some furniture needed painting or replacing, our room had a adjacent door to another room and could hear the neighbors talking all night. The back entrance door required a key card to enter and you never needed it, you could pull on the door and it would open. Elevators were a hot box, and looks/feels creepy not to mention it smelled of mildew everywhere. The only satisfying experience was the front desk employee upon checking in. He was friendly and accommodating to the side of the hotel
We wanted. I would have given this hotel 1 star but because of the location, I gave it 2 stars. Side note:
The hotel is gated parking for guest only, however the couple of day we were there you always needed the key card to enter but wasn’t always the case exiting.

My family and I visited on Spring Break and we loved it. We stayed in a 3 bedroom with a beautiful ocean view. Room was very clean and nice, ocean view was beautiful and the staff was so great and friendly. We ordered food and it got delivered to the pool which we enjoyed as we spent most of the day at the pool. The cabana bar was great 👍 We want to go back so bad but it is always booked, but can’t wait to go back. We had so much fun!

My family and I recently visited Port Royal and have been repeat customers multiple summers in a row. We usually overlook the lack of cleanliness of the facility and even on some occasions the condo because we enjoy the pool area, water slides, and beach access. These amenities are very family friendly. However, this trip was extremely disappointing, leaving us not wanting to go back next summer. While there, it rained one evening and we woke up to our floor covered in water and all our stuff soaked. We called the front desk and were told we were number 7 in line to wait for someone to come help suck up the water. We spent half our day calling to get someone to come back when water continued to leak in our room, asking for maid service, called again for more towels when they did not provide them the first time maid service came, had to wash all our clothes and set bags out to dry with a few items of ours ruined as they were items that were not meant to be soaked in water. We asked to speak to a manager and were told they would call us back. They never did. We have emailed and called (different members of my family have reached out) and they will never call us back or offer any compensation for ruined items. I understand things can happen that are not planned but the lack of customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. If they had acted like they somewhat cared, checked on what we needed during the remainder of our stay, offered even a little compensation, we wouldn’t have left quite so disappointed. My family has loved going here in the past but due to this experience, we can no longer recommend this resort to other family and friends.

We were there before the summer season began and really enjoyed our stay. Easy walk to the beach. Nice view from our room. We didn’t mind at all that they are still doing renovations. My kids loved the pool, except the big slides were closed the entire time. We ate breakfast there every morning, but it was included with our stay otherwise we would’ve passed. It was a self-serve breakfast that was slightly better than what you’d get at a typical hotel continental breakfast. The employees were all very friendly. We were also happy to have covered parking with a designated parking spot that could fit our tall van. If we ever come back to the area we would definitely stay here again.

We just went July 16th thru July 19th and the stay was great!!!! The elevators were working in Building 6 and had NO issues. We were really concerned because of ALL these bad reviews . We had a Great time and the place was good. We loved the pools for our 4 and 6 year old granddaughters and the beach front. They loved it. We went here 12 years ago and went again now and loved it again. We will definitely come back again.

Elevators are broken!!!! They were scary from the get-go! They have no big ice machine, and they are very strict on towels!!!!! Beware of the picnic area they have stickers which was a big bummer for everyone especially the kids. There were also plumbing issues and some doors were hard to open to the balconies!
Outside looks pretty bad but rooms were better!
Beautiful view of the beach to watch the sunrise, and beautiful view on the top floor to watch the sunset!!! Pools looked clean! Not necessarily a bad place to stay if you are willing to compromise!!! Two things I loved was the bed was amazing and the showers were very extra hot! (Shower head not so much) The temperature was great!!!!

We stayed Father’s Day weekend at the villa the villa is very spacious and lots of room. When we got there everyone was amazed by the size of the villa. But some of the tv’s were outdated the main tv in the main living room the screen was blue. On Friday 06/16 when we got the the pool was very cloudy like they just put chlorine I understand so some of us were able to use the pool on that Friday. On 06/17 the pool turned green and the water fall for the pool didn’t work at all and me having skin and foot issues I was not able to use the pool due to being green I tried to call the hotel but no answer so just left it at that. Also when tried using the washer the washer was not draining and let our clothes wet in the washer and also the ice machine in the bar area was not working. We did complete our stay since I paid $1500 dollars already. I did call the hotel and said a refund was going to be given to me at the moment I didn’t ask how much or was told how much they said they would work on a refund. I called a couple of days later was told a refund was was being processed and we should receive it in a couple of days. As the week went by no refund so I called back on 06/26 to confirm a refund they said they still need to talk to the manager and check on the refund. On 06/27 I received a phone call saying they sending my refund back at 15% of the $1500 but a refund is a refund huh but I was told a week before I was getting my refund waited a week and 2 days for it. Like I said the villa is very spacious nice inside but not being able to use private pool fully and the pool tuning green and the washer and some of the tv being outdated especially the front tv with a blue screen but the private pool was big seller to me and not being able to use it fully was a disappointment. I just hope the villa is updated

We just returned home from our Recent weekend getaway to Pelican Bay Resort Villa. I cannot say enough amazing things about this AirBNB. The Villa was absolutely AMAZING! Our family of six, plus three had so much space and room for plenty more. I was a little hesitant at first after reading reviews from previous renters. But, our experience was not like theirs! The Private Pool Seaside was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced vacationing in Rockport. Ashley, the onsite personnel for the weekend went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! There were a few minor details with the house that were addressed, only because there is a small folder advising you of notifying management of any breaks, leaks, or malfunctioning equipment. Ashley immediately came down and addressed the small issues and made sure our stay was happy and content. I read a lot of reviews of unhappy renters stating there was no one on site. This is true, but she is just a text message away. She was extremely nice and genuinely care about the quality of our stay with Pelican Bay. We loved this place so much we have immediately rebooked for September 23′ and a week in July 24′.
If you want an amazing, homey, comfortable, seaside home for you and your family, I would HIGHLY recommend the Villa at Pelican Bay.
We will not stay anywhere else in Rockport, TX.
They have won us over for life! Thank you Ashley!

This place is an Airbnb. My guys stayed here to do a job in Rockport. When they got to their room the door was damaged and they had a hard time opening it. Unfortunately, there is no one on site to voice your concerns to. My guys figured they already knew the door was damaged because housekeeping was supposed to have made the room ready. We were charged for the damage to the door that had obviously been done the weekend before we got there, which was memorial weekend. We will never book a room here again. Can’t trust that you won’t be charged for something someone else did. Good Luck if you take the chance.

Very clean and nice people. But be prepared to do some of the end trip cleaning such as bagging up sheets and towels for them. It’s not like a hotel.

This place reminds me of the cottages that Fulton beach used to be plastered with, but with modern amenities. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Cottages are nicely sized. Parking can be tight for us fishing types with big trucks. Staff is friendly and around a lot. Pier is well maintained too. Lovely pool area. One small trash can for the entire cottage though is hard to work with. No driving access from Fulton Beach Rd, but that’s not a deal-breaker. Walkway to the pier/beach is a bit narrow – again for us fishing types carrying gear. Really only small details to complain about, nothing bad about this place at all. I’ll be back!
