  1. I used to do 100% of my shopping here. Over the past year, I have had to go elsewhere to get decent prices and find what I need.
    They have eliminated or reduced the availability of many store-brand items. They often have bare shelves, and it’s rare now to complete a trip with everything on my list. Several times in the past year, I have bought products only to get home and discover that they are expired.
    Prices are an issue everywhere nowadays, but Tom Thumb especially feels exploitative.
    I am not sure what has happened with this store. I don’t know if it is the management or a corporate thing. But, it’s a shame because this store is so convenient to me.

  2. I have been to this location twice this year 2023 but never had the chance to shop because I am a disabled person and need the motorized carts to do my shopping. On these two occasions I walked into store using my cane and asked store employees that I saw in cart area did the store have any motorized carts. I was told no . I then asked could they check in store please. I was told a last time that there were no motorized carts. I used to frequent Tom Thompson stores before I moved here at the Mesquite location because the store always had the motorized carts. I left the store after being told the last no. I love shopping at Tom thumb in past in Mesquite because the staff was always friendly and accommodating

  3. I have been shopping at this Tom Thumb location since I have lived in Lewisville and normally my shopping experience has been pleasant. I did not mind paying more for my groceries compared to other grocery vendors. Their meat department has great sales and if you routinely follow the grocery ads you can find great savings.

    Nonetheless, recently the customer service at this location has decreased exponentially. The cashiers look like they don’t want to be there or don’t greet you. I understand many of them are young. In spite of their age, someone working can learn customer service skills at any age. Although the customer service has declined drastically, it didn’t stop me from shopping at this location. However, on April 8, 2023 around 6:00 PM- I dealt with a very negative experience that makes me want to take my grocery dollars elsewhere.

    There was a sale on chips buy 2, get 2 free. This sale was on Frito Lay brand chips – specific varieties. The ad listed the specific varieties (I did not see the ad beforehand), but the shelf tags were not clear. I read each shelf tag while shopping to ensure I didn’t pick up chips that were not on sale. They way the chips were stocked on the shelf, it was unclear which chips were on sale and which weren’t. I noticed when I got to my car that I did not receive the discount and went back inside. I anticipated this being a simple fix; however, it was a nightmare.

    There was no one available at the service desk so I was assisted by a cashier to rectify the situation. (She was friendly). While 2 cashiers flipped though the grocery ads trying to figure out which chips were on sale, the assistant manager – JR- approached. His attitude was DEPLORABLE. It was so bad that the customer behind me was chiming in about the situation and his behavior. He went to the aisle and came back whispering under his breath to the other 2 cashiers that I was wrong. I had no way of proving what the shelf tags said as I didn’t have my phone to go take a picture. (I wasn’t expecting to be in the store as long as I was to rectify the situation). I had no way of knowing if he went and adjusted the shelf tags when he went over there.

    I was completely turned off by the fact he was talking about me RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and other customers. When I called him out on it and told him I could hear him and did not appreciate his attitude, nor him talking about me while I’m standing right there, he replied with something along the lines of “I’m sorry you feel that way.” A comment like that basically says “I’m sorry you perceived this situation like this” and was not an apology for how he was ACTUALLY acting.

    Something told me I should’ve brought my phone with me, but I would NEVER expect something like this to happen at Tom Thumb. They are supposed to be the crème de la crème; a cut above the rest; an exceptional shopping experience. If I want lousy customer service I can save money shopping at the big box store on the other side of Round Grove.

  4. Most of the staff, particularly the Cashiers, here is very unfriendly and borderline rude. They all seem to be having a bad day every time I come into the store. Our family decided not to use the store on a normal basis over five years ago. And only use it for last minute needs due to its proximity to our home. I swear up and down every time I go, that I will never come back.

    Second time this has happened where coupons don’t work at self check out, and then it causes a fuss with the employees who end up over-charging me. I recently moved to the neighborhood, and now know to never come back. WInco or Kroger I go.

    This is pretty standard for Tom Thumb, which is meant as a compliment. The aisles were clean and well stocked. The employees were friendly. I needed my second Covid shot and was able to just walk in off the street and get one here.

    I only stop here for a ready made, fresh turkey on pretzel bread sandwich from deli. Three tiny sandwiches for $6.49 or a single larger one. It is healthier than fast food and great to eat while in car. No mayo needed for me ‘ cuz the bread, turkey and cheese are very moist and flavorful. This Tom Thumb is a very clean and organized store. Starbucks is located inside as well ! Too bad prices are too high for my tiny budget.

    I came by here to use the ATM machine and decided to check on a few items to see if they had them in the store. Wow here I was able to grab my cash and shop for a few of my fruits vegetables and some dry good items. There was one cashier available at the time, but I was able to get through the line fairly quickly. I’m there were baskets and small hand baskets available.

    We were told to come here for some grocery by the in-laws. This place reminds me of Whole Foods Market. It was bustling when we entered the market. Everything was so bright and organized. The prep food and hot food area had a huge variety of options. When I saw the flakey batter on the chicken tenders, I knew I had to get them. Even better, they came with 2 sides, which l close mashed potatoes and hush puppies. The chicken was on the drier side, but the batter was very crispy. The mashed potatoes were excellent, and I would be content just eating that. The hush puppies were nice and better quality than I would expect from store bought. The rest of the store had so much stock that I could walk those aisles for hours. Some prices are higher but some are cheaper too. Overall, Market Street is an excellent grocery store that I look forward to shopping again.

    Awesome produce, fantastic meat and seafood options. Bakery, fresh deli, and specialty foods, you name it. One of my favorite things is that there are some ‘average’ grocery brands mixed in with an otherwise specialty grocery. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

    Pretty cozy and various produce with products. Small but nice mood of cafeteria. Very well organized and decorated goods. But it’s a bit difficult to figure how this is differentiated compared to Kroger and Sprouts. No specific flaw but not much impressed.

    I stopped by this location after I was already in the area. I wanted to get a couple of pumpkins so I figured I would walk through the store to see how the store was set up. There were many employees in the area available to help for anything that I needed. I asked a couple questions at the dinner bar. That was food made and prepared that looked decent for consumption. I really like the olive bar that was set up as I enjoy sampling the different flavors. As I strolled through the store I saw the fresh meat and fresh seafood appear to be in decent viewable condition and there were no smells that turned me off in the area. Since I had the pumpkins I figured I would go ahead and walk through the store to see if there was anything out of place and that I house were clean. I found that the store was organized and the aisles were in fact clean and unobstructed. There were several other people dressed in black in the area available to assist with questions. I asked several questions to ensure that they were just not hanging around without answers to the questions I had. The employees were able to answer questions and direct me as appropriate for the product that I was asking about. It seems that management at this store has employees who are aware and knowledgeable about their jobs and the needs of customers. This location scores well in my book.
