An amazing group of Women Lawyers!! Yes , this firm is all Women!! And you can tell from the minute you walk through the Front door. You’ll notice the elegant design of this office. It is like no other! You’re greeted by a lovely young lady , professional , polite and very friendly. The lawyer we dealt with, also carried these traits. The cost was very reasonable (and yes, I did call around. Lol) 5 Stars for sure 😊

These people will steal your money. Our lawyer was Spencer and not only did she blow through almost triple what she quoted us but she also yelled at us and tried to drop us 2 days before our court appearance when we expressed concern about how much money she kept requesting from us. Spencer showed up to court completely unprepared and at one point leaned over to the other lawyer and said very loudly “I don’t understand why we didn’t try to talk before we got here” even though she told me multiple times we weren’t going to reach out to negotiate with them as part of her “expert advice”. Spencer was unprofessional and aggressive and told me with absolute certainty we had a good case until she spent 10k of our money then decided our case was flimsy and we should be prepared for the worst. Spencer went on maternity leave and no one ever reached out to tell us, but when we reached out Jennifer said she would take us on. Jennifer was asked to recheck Spencer’s numbers and she took this to mean to negotiate with my ex and she fully agreed to a settlement without ever discussing it with us. When this settlement didn’t make sense to us, Jennifer couldn’t explain it to us, my ex ended up extremely mad when I wouldn’t sign the document and it made the entire situation more contentious. Do not go to this law firm, they are only here to strip you of your money and provided little to no expertise. If you do go for a consultation, take a look at their “hilarious” candles that smell like “freshly signed divorce papers”, it shows their level of class. We ended up signing papers that completely gave up any of our rights financially because this law firm made it their goal to take every single penny from us and it was easier to sign it all away then continue paying these scummy lawyers.

I see they’ve already replied saying they don’t have me as a client, but they know who I am, that technically their books have my husband’s name as their client, and this is just a cover because Spencer has many reviews from people who say she yelled at them. I would be very careful with that kind of behaviour Jennifer, Canada is one party consent for voice recordings, what if someone posted a clip of the way Spencer yells at them?

    Waste of time and money.

I went there for a consultation and the lawyer did not even review my answers to her own questionnaire prior to meeting. When I asked questions about a particular legal guideline, she said she’d never heard of it and became defensive (I went and saw a good lawyer later that week who used those guidelines herself). She went on the provide very little help during the consultation, which ended halfway through the alloted time.

Slightly tangential, but the office is decorated with posters of such poor taste – one saying that people who quit are employed by people who don’t quit, and another which was basically a Rolls-Royce ad – that I genuinely wasn’t sure I was in an actual lawyers office.

This place seems to get off on the gimmick of being women-only, which wouldn’t be a gimmick if they hired people who knew what they were doing, from interior decorating to actual law services.

Don’t waste your money and time, there are a dozen better law offices in Fredericton alone.

Top Immigration Lawyer Alternatives in Fredericton

According to the 2021 Canadian census, immigrants in Canada number 8.3 million persons and make up approximately 23 percent of Canada's total population. This represents the eighth-largest immigrant population in the world, while the proportion represents one of the highest ratios for industrialized Western countries.Following Canada's confederation in 1867, immigration played an integral role in helping develop vast tracts of land. During this era, the Canadian Government would sponsor information campaigns and recruiters to encourage settlement in rural areas; however, this would primarily be only towards those of European and religious Christian backgrounds, while others—particularly Hindus, Buddhist, Shinto, Sikh, Muslim, and Jewish immigrants—as well as the poor, ill, and disabled, would be less than welcome. Following 1947, in the post-World War II period, Canadian domestic immigration law and policy went through significant changes, most notably with the Immigration Act, 1976, and the current Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) from 2002.The main drivers of population growth are immigration, driven mainly by economic policy and also family reunification. A record number of 405,000 immigrants were admitted to Canada in 2021, with plans to increase the annual intake of immigrants to 500,000 per year. New immigrants settle mostly in major urban areas in the country, such as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Canada also accepts large numbers of refugees, accounting for over 10 percent of annual global refugee resettlements; it resettled more than 28,000 in 2018 and has spent $769 million in 2023 alone for free housing and meals.

The Biggest Immigration Lawyer in Canada

Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick, Canada, is home to a number of reputable immigration lawyers who specialize in helping individuals navigate the complex process of immigrating to Canada. However, if you are unable to find an immigration lawyer or prefer to explore other options, there are several alternatives that you can consider:

  • Immigration Consultants: Immigration consultants are professionals who provide immigration-related advice and services. While they cannot offer legal advice, they can assist with filing applications and supporting documentation, and may be a more affordable alternative to hiring a lawyer. It is important to choose a licensed and regulated immigration consultant to ensure you receive reliable and ethical assistance.
  • Pro Bono Legal Clinics: Many cities, including Fredericton, have pro bono legal clinics that offer free or low-cost legal services to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. These clinics often have volunteer lawyers who can provide immigration-related assistance, including help with filling out forms, understanding the immigration process, and preparing for interviews. Contact local legal aid organizations or non-profit groups in Fredericton to inquire about pro bono legal clinics in the area.
  • Government Resources: The Canadian government provides a wealth of information and resources for individuals looking to immigrate to Canada. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website is a great starting point, offering detailed information on different immigration programs, application processes, and required documentation. The website also provides forms and guides that individuals can use to navigate the immigration process on their own. Additionally, the IRCC website offers a tool called “Come to Canada” which helps individuals assess their eligibility and explore immigration options based on their personal circumstances.

While these alternatives can provide assistance with immigration-related matters, it is important to note that they may not offer the same level of expertise and legal advice as an immigration lawyer. It is recommended to carefully consider your specific needs and circumstances before deciding which option is best for you.
