Deane is so great and so is Tara! We’ve dealt with them several times and it’s always wonderful! We moved away from the area but still use their services because they’re so lovely to deal with. They’re worth the drive to Orillia! Very thorough and pleasant.

Deane is fantastic to work with. His attention to detail and thoroughness are outstanding. Not only did he make himself available for all calls and emails to address questions we had leading up to closing, he met us on a weekend to sign documents in order to work around our schedule. In person, Deane takes the time to go through all documention and is happy to answer any questions before signing. Most helpful and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

Knowledge, experience and trust are the three most important things my wife and I look for in any professional. Deane has all three of these in spades.

My wife and I have used his real estate services three times now (for 2 house purchases and 1 house sale) and cannot say enough how impressed and pleased we have been with his attention to detail. At lot is going on while moving house and it is always comforting to know that with Deane handling the real estate part, we don’t need to worry about the legal side of things.

As long as Deane continue to practice real estate law, he will be handling ALL our real estate closing needs.

If you want a lawyer who is dishonest and has no integrity or honour, then he is your man! He sends out erroneous bills and when you point out his errors he lies and plugs them. Check with the Law Society first before you engage him…complaints have been filed but he is slippery.

I have known Raquel since a teenager and she has always been a go getter! I had Raquel and her team do my parents wills for them. I am extremely grateful for the time and patience she had, and was extremely kind and respectful towards my parents.

Update: its been a month since my house sale (and original post below) so the lawfirm has addressed a cheque to my house for the remainder of the funds held in trust. HOWEVER, they have sent me someone elses cheque, so if your name is tanya and have an auto loan with cibc, call this lawyer. Absolutely incompetent.

This lawfirm ‘helped’ with the sale and purchase of our homes. They forgot to pay my previous mortgage out, thankfully i caught it by chance and emailed them to notify. They did nothing. By week 2 i had been contacted about my prior mortgage by the company ( those emails were forwarded to ness law) concerned that it still hadnt been paid. Forwarded the emails for the second time to this lawyer, and only then did it actually get looked into and paid out. Secondly is the lack of communication. My appointment time was changed three times (stuff happens so ok, i let it pass) but Moving day: we were not told a set time to be out of the previous house and since uhaul doesnt open until 9 we didnt have a truck until then. 1130 rolls around and i get a phone call from ness law saying i should have already been out of the house… but when i had my meeting i even asked and there was no set time, Just to aim for 2pm. So no i dont recommended this law firm to anyone who doesnt want to end up doing their own legwork anyway and double checking things are done as they should be.

Indigenous intellectual property is a term used in national and international forums to describe intellectual property that is "collectively owned" by various Indigenous peoples, and by extension, their legal rights to protect specific such property. This property includes cultural knowledge of their groups and many aspects of their cultural heritage and knowledge, including that held in oral history. In Australia, the term Indigenous cultural and intellectual property, abbreviated as ICIP, is commonly used.
There have been various efforts made since the late 20th century towards providing some kind of legal protection for indigenous intellectual property in colonized countries, including a number of declarations made by various conventions of Indigenous peoples. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was created in 1970 to promote and protect intellectual property across the world by cooperating with countries as well as international organizations. The UN's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), signed by 144 countries in 2007, includes several clauses relating specifically to the protection of intellectual property of Indigenous peoples.
